Great dentist. Love the experience, office is clean, hygienist does an excellent job, and Parminter himself is a very honest dentist. I had gone to another big chain dentist, was told I needed a couple thousand dollars of work including a crown and a deep cleaning. I went to Parminter for a second opinion and didn't tell anything about the other places consult. Guess what? I only needed a regular cleaning. The other place was trying to rip me off. Been a patient for years here. I was told my insurance would not cover a night guard for me and had to pay out of pocket. The night guard was not fitted properly so I went in - he cut it with scissors ! Still can't and won't use it. I went to a new dentist who said it wasn't wearable and put in for new night guard - insurance told me Parminter office billed for it - so they got paid twice for it . Won't reach out to the insurance to correct this for me so I can get a proper guard from another location and instead I filed a grievance. My experience with this dental office was not good. They initially overcharged me, were disorganized, and lacked thorough communication. The principal dentist had a terrible chairside manner and sometimes came off as condescending. Upon paying them $495 to begin a tooth replacement procedure, for the above reasons, I did not feel comfortable proceeding with this dentist and office. read more

My wife and I went in for an initial visit after we decided we didn't trust our dental office in La Habra. I was at ease within a few minutes with Dr. Paraminter; his diagnosis was state-of-the-art, thorough, and very well explained in terms I could understand. My wife and I both needed some work; we already knew that. Dr. Paraminter helped to prioritize the work and gave us all the options. It's clear he cares about giving us the best treatment he can while not wasting our money on expensive treatments we really don't need. I have a plan now which I feel I can both trust and afford. My son and i have been to so many dentists and never went back for second visits. Sometimes going years without seeing one. Then I found Dr. Parminter. OMG. Our first visit was amazing. We have NEVER been made to feel so comfortable during a visit. Dr. Parminter talked to us like we were humans and made us feel like we were talking to family. The staff at his office are just as amazing as he is. Today, my son had all 4 wisdom teeth removed. Their oral surgeon, Dr. Sumner.. OMG!!! Can he be anymore amazing. I been coming to Dr Parminter for 8 years now. The whole staff including Dr. Parminter is so professional and attentive and I never had a bad experience. I went I today because I have had a crown done by another dentist in Burbank. I finally, I got it taken care of by him. My schedule is very crazy and finally made time to do it.I walked out feeling no pain what so ever. The previous Dr. did my crown all wrong and Dr Parminter fixed. I couldn't believe I walked out with my Permanente crown, he didn't have to send it out to be made it was done in his office, how cool was that. read more

This was my dentist's office for a few years. It used to be either a father-son team or an uncle-nephew team. It may have even been two brothers and one of the brother's sons. Or it may have been a father and two sons. In any case, I believe the older one retired a few years ago, and the younger one(s) still practices. I actually liked the older one better; I felt more at ease with him, but both are capable dentists. I got my first cavities (all eight of them) when this was my dentist's office, and they convinced me to get the porcelain fillings instead of the metal ones. They weren't supposed to last long, but ten years later, they're still in. (Knock on something.) Dr. Parminter, the younger one, also pulled one of my wisdom teeth (it was impacted) during a normal checkup. That made my mom angry, as I didn't realize how much he would charge, but it was a far less frightening procedure than when I had my other three removed by another oral surgeon. Dr. Parminter is friendly, maybe a little too friendly, but he does lay off of the questions after a while. All of the dental hygienists are friendly, and scheduling isn't a hassle for the most part. I'd give it about 3.49 stars just so I don't feel bad about not rounding up. read more

Once settled in the Whittier area, i got lucky with a recommendation from a friend. I have now been going to Dr. Parminter for 5+ years. He is knowledgeable about his craft, he is gentle and does a great job. He does not make you go through unneeded procedures. He is also very friendly, talking to you and making you feel at home in his dentist office. His staff is also friendly and professional, they add to the homey atmosphere making it a family friendly place. They have a flexible schedule and it is easy to obtain appointments. As a bonus his office is easy to find, being in one of the tallest buildings in Whittier, located on Colima Road near Whittier Blvd. I highly recommend him to anyone in the area! read more

I have been coming to Dr. Parminter for about 4 years now. I was recommended by my aunt and cousin. There's nothing like finding a good dentist and to me Dr. P is great. I have always been happy with his work. I recently had a root canal and crown put in all on the same day. Dr. P has new technology that enables him to do things on site instead of sending out. This makes it so much easier because I didn't have to come back for my crown. It was made here. Super convenient. He tells you exactly what he's going to do next and what you will feel. This helps to ease the nerves and you know what to expect. Staff is always very pleasant and just all around nice people here. They make coming to the dentist a little less painful. :) They recently moved to a new location not to far from where they were before. They are now off Whittier Blvd/La Entrada. read more

BEWARE - DO NOT USE THIS DENTIST. This is the worse dentist in the Whittier area. He overcharges and doesn't do the work. Most of the work was done by the assist and hygentist. He does not make you feel comfortable and his arrogance is disgusting. Don't waste your time and money nor your insurance's money. I regret bringing my grandfather here. Dr. Parminter used tacky used, car salesman techniques to try to talk my grandfather into getting implants. He even made him sign his "treatment" paper for proof that he was refusing his suggestions. Although he has a nice office I thought his front office lady Sherry was grumpy and rude and unpleasant-looking not to mention haggard. Really glad we decided to keep looking. read more
