purchased a Stressless Mary 3 piece sofa and a Stressless Magic recliner through Robert Westley. took delivery of the former a few months ago and the latter a few hours ago. the experience was great from start to finish. Robert was very friendly, knowledgeable, and, in my opinion most importantly, not pushy. he let me and my wife take our time sitting in the furniture he had on display so we were sure we were placing an order for something we knew we were going to love long term. both pieces took an inordinately long time to be delivered because of the crap going on at the ports. of course, this isn't Robert Westley's fault. we'll be back as i continue to furnish the house. read more

- Locale Destination - It's in SoCo Center in Costa Mesa - Shopping plaza that has bunch of furniture shops and more (cafe, bars, shops, restaurants etc.). Right before the entrance to 405 N off Harbor Blvd, turn right. You'll see a big shopping center. It's in one of the rows for furniture shops. Between "Uni Home Store" and "Lee Stanton Stash". The signs for the furniture shops are kinda small. Most furniture shops here has a front and back door. I started checking out shops from "Deco Home", where located right next to the entrance of this shopping mall. So if you took the aisle, you can continuously browse shops from their "back door" I guess. I took bunch of pictures at each shop, so I hope they'll help you. This place is more elegant side with lots of good art works. Lots of sea shells, and beach feelings. Furniture: Simple yet fancy side - good for Malibu beach houses. Art works: They do have some quite interesting pieces. One of the yellow flower paining (check out my pictures) was quite nice, though it costs $2600 (they have a blue one as well). I have a great eye on art and something beautiful. Cushions: Colorful but $200/piece, which isn't so crazy for this industry. Accent pieces: There're many oceanic items - shells, beach stuff. - Conqueror's Deduction - It's a good place to find accent pieces. More "shabby chic" than minimalism. read more

I've been looking for new furniture because I'm moving and want to start over with my furniture selection. Upon entering the store, I noticed some pieces I really liked. I started to head towards the back of the store to see what else peaked my interest since I was looking to buy. Out of nowhere, this little dog started growling and barking. I approached me and took a step back. I wasn't sure if this little thing was going to bite me or not. The employee called his dog back to him. I was like really wtf? He didn't even acknowledge me or say hello. He went back to his desk and appeared to be looking up random crap on Google. He was making phone calls and didn't ask if I needed help or what I was looking for. I spoke to my friend loudly and said "I really like this sofa!" The guy didn't budge at so I figured he didn't want to help so I basically said screw it and left. I left frustrated because the guy didn't even give me a time a day, even after his dog showed signs of aggression towards me. He didn't apologize for his dog, he just said "get back over here, why are you growling?" I guess since I don't dress like an orange county snob, he didn't think I was a real buyer. That's fine with me though. I won't be returning here and I'll be sure to tell friends, family, and my clients not to step foot in this place. read more

My husband and I went out to this showroom to look at the collection of the 'Ekornes' furniture, I had spoken to Westley on the phone regarding the sofa/theater sectional explaining to him that even though we live in Burbank, I was referred to his store by another store saying they did have this sofa on their floor. Westley advised that they didn't actually have the sofa, however did have several of the chairs, he went a step further by asking why I was interested in this brand. I explained in great detail that both my husband and myself have painful back issues, I have M.S., & eventually my husband will need back surgery. Westley listened, I had called other showrooms closer to my house that carried the same products but no one took the time to listen to what was going on. He urged us to take a drive down just to try out the chairs, he & his dad are the owners and it seems like they care. So, down we went, and right away we felt welcomed, he remembered our conversation, had us sit in the chairs, brought us each a Perrier, we watched a short film on Norway where the chairs are originally from, answered every question we had. We ended up sitting for about an hour, pain free!! So, of course we ended up buying the chairs, forget about the sofa idea. We picked out the color we wanted, he said it would be about 2 weeks and he would hand deliver fully assembled to us, no charge. We ended up getting them in 10 days, they are perfect, we love them and are looking forward to watching the new fall line-up in our new back friendly chairs. read more

Hidden in the SoCo Center is this little gem. Sure with all the big stores surrounding it, you may miss it. It is little. You will not get a large display of mulitiple furniture here. Having said that, the stuff that they had in here was really nice. High quality and reasonable prices. The sales staff was very friendly and informative. Make sure you talk to them; you'll learn more about any particular furniture that you are looking at. I wish they had more selections. read more

The "many oceanic items" described by Akiko are things like corals and sea fans. These sea creatures are already in enough trouble without being harvested just to decorate living rooms in Orange County. I told the manager this, and he reacted in anger. No ethics. My practice is to not buy at stores that sell such items, including furniture made of rainforest (tropical) hardwoods. There are many stores with green ethics. Shop there instead. read more

Great little gem of a shop in the SOCO development! Their aesthetic is a combination of modern rustic meets beach house chic meets classic California bungalow. They offer a tightly edited selection of unique pieces, as well as a variety of staples, like the Stressless line. Both the owner Robert and his son Westley are both great and really take the time to help clients find what they are looking for. Was just asked to leave while sitting on a sofa with friends for 10 min and contemplating how a coffee table would look at my place. The person running the store said "Hey guys, I'm trying to run a showroom here" implying we needed to leave. He fluffed the pillows angrily as we left. I get that he's prob upset that his sales are prob slumping but I don't think it's due to people trying out and relaxing in his show room, it's probably the tacky leather chairs in the middle if his show room called "the stress free zone" and the fact that he asked potential business to leave. Surprising since there wasn't much traffic going in anyway. Won't be shopping here or recommending this place to anyone, ever. read more

I recently had the chance to visit their new showroom. While still in SOCO, the showroom is a lot larger and has so many great new sofas and furniture. Their sofa beds are so comfortable and I am in love with one of their new reclining sofas. Robert and Westley, the owners, are the nicest guys and they have the cutest little dog in the showroom. I can't believe another yelper would even feel threatened by her because she is so adorable. I would highly recommend shopping here. Prices are fair and selection is great! read more

Don't buy furniture here unless you can afford to replace it within six months. We spent thousands of $$ on custom Stressless furniture. Within four months, the seating became hard as a park bench. Westley claims this product would last 25 years. When we tried to get a refund, a "specialist" came to our home to inspect. These turned out to be two guys who specialize in repairing auto and leather seating, neither of which describes our purchase. What a nightmare! read more
