A returning costumer from 2010, we were greeted like family by John. My wife explained to him what she was looking for which I thought we'd never find. John visually scanned the show room, turned to us saying follow me. He proceeded to lead us to his what I thought was the perfect dining set. He then suggested a different chair that made the set even better for a price that is much less than we expected. He ordered us the table with 4 chairs and we will pick it up in 2 weeks. My wife and I were in the market to replace our two kitchen counter stools. Our old ones were creaky and inexpensive, and we wanted good ones. We were going to go to another store I found on Yelp, but it would appear to have closed. My wife found Dining and Stools on Google, and we decided to give it a try. It is located at the corner of a small strip mall on N State College near Orangethorpe. Upon entering we were greeted by a tall, bearded, gentleman named John. He was friendly and pleasant and explained the layout of the store. Nearly all stools could be purchased at bar or counter height. We walked around, trying out many different stools. Finally, we settled on a style that was both attractive and comfortable. We had originally planned to just look but found stools that we really liked and wanted to purchase. We had not shopped anywhere else so we didn't do any comparison shopping, but the price seemed reasonable. My wife noticed a slight indentation on the frame of the back support of the stool. John called another gentleman from the back of the store and he came out and painted in the mark and it looked fine. This man helped carry out the stools and place them in our car. We got home, placed the stools, and used them for dinner. They are very comfortable and fit well with our decor. We are very happy with our experience at Dining and Stools. read more

We went here looking for a new dining room set. Looked at what was in their showroom, some sets were just okay, but the sets we were interested in could only be seen from catalogs. Very hard to know what you are getting from a picture. There was one set they had in their warehouse that the saleswoman said they could open the box to see what the color of the wood was but when we went into the store, she said there was no one who could open the box, that it needed to be one of the warehouse workers and they were not there that day. That is not what she told me over the phone, gave me the impression the box could be opened anytime we showed up. Other issue we had was, the salesman there said he would ask his reps about a few of the sets we might be interested in, what the true coloring was and he never got back to us. The store has quite a few outdated dining sets that no one buys anymore, dining chairs on wheels went out in the 80's. They claim they can't put anymore sets on their showroom floor because of space, there would be space if they would do away with the outdated sets and bring in current styles that customers are looking for. We were also in the market for bar stools, again, outdated and quite expensive for what you're getting. No, I would not recommend. read more

I came into this place a few weeks ago because my coworker said that this place might have some deals on tables and furniture. This place was the most expensive.... the outside shows it's more of a "deal" type of place in Anaheim with writing all over the windows instead of a High end store. Some tables and chair sets were over $3,000!! That's crazy!!! I saw the same exact table and chair set online shipped with tax more than half the cost down for around $1,200.... Also, they don't have some stuff in stock so you have to wait a couple weeks for delivery. Would not recommend. read more

Had a great experience here with John. Came in based on yelp reviews and so glad we did! I got 2 bar stools for my apartment. I told him our counter height and he told us exactly what we needed. They are super comfy and the best price. He did warn us that due to the lower price point that the stitching would be not 100% matched up but I don't mind it at all. We ended up buying a whole new set minus the glass. She was very patient with us. We took samples home and must have come back three to four times before making a decision. The only glitch was we choose a solid red fabric for the bench and the company later informed her that they no longer carried it so we went with the same fabric on everything. She even offered to change it for us if we found a red fabric that we liked. Again, great selections, tons of choices, and great quality. Glad we stopped in! The staff were great and went out of their way to accommodate you. They not only answered questions, took measurements, gave design advice and offered customization to meet your needs without being pushy in the process. Look for the sales as they have price points all over the place, and even a clearance section if you just need one or two things for the house. Purchased a pair of counter height stools in the past and one of them broke recently. I called and John was quick to take remedy the solution. Turns out we were past the one year mark. Despite that John was still able to get us a replacement stool at no cost to us in less than a week. My wife and I appreciate the service. This store sells just what their name says, dining chairs and bar/counter stools. You can get a table to go with your chairs here as well, but the focus is definitely on seating. From the exterior and the design of their logo (pure 70s) I wasn't sure if the merchandise would be up to date, but the styles are indeed current and the prices are right. The only way I know to get new chairs cheaper is Ikea or Target, and the quality here is a huge step up. The salespeople are attentive and helpful, and are tolerant of children. I also like that you can carry your purchases out the same moment you buy them, or come back later to pick up. No waiting for shipment or delivery. They'll help you load your car if you need it. I bought three counter-height stools for my kitchen, in just the style/color/cushioning I wanted, and a year later they're still in like-new condition. The sales people here are very helpful and friendly. Unfortunately we were unable to find bar stools to fit our needs. Apparently we have an unusually high counter height (45") which requires a 32" or 34" height bar stool. The most common heights are 26" and 30"; which they did have a good selection of. The sales lady offered to look through her different mfg catalogs to see it any offered this height but unfortunately she couldn't find any. Luckily I found a pair of 32" bar stools online and they're arriving tomorrow, yay! read more
