I ate here last week and asked for water. The woman working refused to provide me water and said that they only sell bottled water. I then clarified that I did not want bottled water and just wanted tap water. She then stated that the tap water running in the restaurant is not potable and not safe to drink. The Taco Governor is hands down best shrimp taco I've ever eaten. I've lived in Tucson and Phoenix and this is the one. Fresh grilled shrimp inside a corn tortilla with cheese and pico. This establishment is right off interstate 5 in very convenient location. Unfortunately, that's the only great thing about this place. It provides only outdoor seating, which is nice when the weather cooperates. You order through a window that makes it diffficult to order because you can not see who is on the other side. I order tacos and they were one of the smaller sized tacos that I have had. The carne asada was nothing that made you crave more, neither was the chicken taco. The tacos here are the real deal. With less than two bucks each I ordered a trifecta of tacos. Steak, Chicken, and Carnitas. The chicken taco was hands down the best one. The meat was very tender, juicy, and tasted all around amazing. If I could make chicken taste that good I would never eat any other kind of meat ever again. The steak taco was my second favorite. A little greasy, but still packed with so much flavor. The carnitas fall last because, even though the flavor was good, the meat was very dry. Each taco was topped with cilantro, dice onion, and salsa, then wrapped in two warm homemade corn tortillas. The dish also had slice radish and a nice charred jalapeno decorating the plate. The place is very small, and the ones working the place aren't the nicest people around. However with food like this, I would happily return. read more

Driving through on a trip and decided to stop here I don't know why the reviews are so low with only three stars but I could tell you that first off the staff are owners are very friendly and the food was fresh and hot. The Carnitas burrito was a very nice big size. It was juicy and flavorful. We also had the Carnitas breakfast burrito and it was very good. It wasn't like chorizo you get at the market it was more like a sausage type with egg and big pieces of potato. Very flavorful. We also had the tortilla chips which were freshly made. I would definitely stay on our way back down from my trip we will be stopping here again and maybe the food will make it to some pictures. Haha read more

Boy...I sure wanted to try out this place for the longest time. I've passed by many times over the years and seen the long lines on the weekends. I finally got my opportunity this past weekend. The stand is located directly off the I5 exit in Williams. They have a gravel parking lot and plenty of street parking. I didn't use the restroom so I don't the condition of that. To tell you the truth, I use the restroom at Granzellas. Those are open to the public and are modern and clean. Apparently the menu is the same menu they've had for over 6 years with the new prices taped over the old ones. I wanted to try the tamale which only comes in pork but they ran out. So I ordered the cabeza street taco. It was $2. It came out piping hot. The meat was fatty, a bit chewy, and very liquidy. I've had cabeza before at other taquerias and the meat is more stewed like soft.The tortilla wasn't grilled. But the salsa was delicious and on the kicker side in spice flavor. My little taco came with a bit of sliced radish and wedge if lime. I would come here again and try other items, not the cabeza taco though. read more

Driving back home from Chico State, wanted to get some lunch. Noticed this place off the side of the road, had an authentic look and had a good amount of customers. 2 stars indicates that this place wasn't bad, but it wasn't very good either. Service was friendly which was a plus, girl with a sarcastic, good natured sense of humor. Ordered Carne Asada nachos, bean and cheese burrito, and ceviche tostada. Tostada wasn't like their photo, it had imitation crab meat as filler, and processed guacamole instead of avocado. Burrito was decent, but had no cheese. Nachos were fairly flavorless, meat was ok, but served with nacho cheese and canned jalapeños, chips nothing special. Generally all taco stands in my experience have a pretty consistent 3 star level quality. This one fell a little short, since ingredients are not that high quality or fresh. Again, it wasn't bad, just wasn't good or somewhere I would ever return to. For reference, my rating system is: 1 star just terrible 2 star not bad, but not good 3 star pretty good but average 4 star really good 5 star special, memorable, must go read more

We suddenly found this place on our way back home. We needed to fill up our stomachs, so my husband took a right turn from highway and this Taqueria grabbed our attention immediately. We have 3 tacos with 3 different kinds of meats (chicken, beef and marinated pork) the tacos seem like smaller compared with others tacos that you might have already in another places. But it's full with meats and they're so good. We also have a quesadillas plate, which's really big. Just so you know the tacos might look small but we (my husband and I) are full after 3 tacos, some beans and rice came with tacos and a small piece of quesadillas. This place is like a small island in the middle of desert. When you are tired and hungry this is a good place to give yourself a break with good foods. read more
