For years we were on Roberts' prepaid maintenance plan. Recently I asked the owner about a charge for a humidifier repair and he mocked my inquiry. The kicker is today an hvac man I trust thoroughly (a family friend and the building engineer of a downtown office building with special expertise in hvac systems) did the a/c checkup and eyeballed the entire hvac system and reported the humidifier solenoid was not connected so it couldn't work. My boiler needed repair when my dog accidentally turned on my water dispenser on the fridge and flooded the boiler downstairs- oops. I asked a group of friends who they recommended and 3 of the simultaneously said "Roberts" so I called them. Based on a referral from friends, we consulted Roberts about replacing our full HVAC system. Our 15-year-old system has been inefficient from day one and increasingly so over the years. We also wanted to upgrade to dual zone thermostat control to see if we can get a better consistency of climate in our duplex apartment. We started using Roberts for HVAC maintenance at the suggestion of a friend. Our units never seemed to work correctly and it became clear that dumping money into repairs was not going to solve the issues that were inherently defective to begin with. I was provided with several scenarios for replacement - Glen was also very helpful in providing info & directions on how to submit paperwork for rebates. The installation took about a week - extensive work in addition to the units (zoning, adding returns, etc) and we've been extremely happy with our Carrier units. We have our units serviced 2x a year & the employees could not be nicer or more professional. Scott typically comes out and he is great! Trevor especially went above & beyond to pick up a part for a repair. He could have just waited until the next morning but made the effort & our unit was up & running by the evening. They called me back quickly, came the same day (I was having company and had no hot water so called for an emergency visit). Mike, one of their staff, came and fixed the problem. We decided to go with this one, since more detailed explanation was provided in the "proposal" sent by email. Two guys came to my house on time and overall experience was good. I became acquainted with them through residential service, but then, as president of our condominium board, I brought them on board to maintain our very complicated commercial equipment. My whole heating system from the furnace room ceiling to the ducts and furnace was a mess since it's installation by the Fly By Night Hot Air Company. Several hvac experts over the decade had informed and warned me of the serious problems. Thus my educated search began. I called several places looking for someone to do a total fix. Finally, Robert's Heating answered the call. Keith said "Yes, we do the hard stuff". Perfect! ...and they did do the "hard stuff"! The efficient, hard working team was excellent from Keith's detailed initial proposal to the final installation of a ceiling in the furnace room. I now have insulated and suspended attic ducts, a furnace that doesn't sound like a speeding train carrying tin cans, an air intake grill, an access door to the attic, a ceiling on the furnace room and central ac. Whew! These guys earned their stars. John, Wes and Michael were on time everyday and never took a lunch hour. Keith answered numerous phone questions throughout. We are a very satisfied repeat customer. Have used ROBERTS HEATING for years ever since they installed a SpacePac air conditioning unit in our cramped attic. We recently needed a service call to fix our poor to non-existent heat in our hot water radiators. They were willing to come out that very day. When the Technician arrived he summarized the problem and showed me the components in the motor that had failed.
