The staff members are absolutely sweet, and as a major bonus for anyone coming off the trail, the restrooms are spotless. They have a fantastic selection of wraps and sandwiches, and everything we ordered was hit. The chicken pesto wrap was super flavorful and fresh, while the Santa Fe wrap had a perfect kick of flavor. The Peoh point sandwich was hearty and delicious, and the new girl salad wrap was light, crisp, and refreshing. I also love the fact that every single meal comes with your choice of a side of sliced apples or chips. It is such a nice, thoughtful touch. Whether you need an energy boost before heading up the mountain or a place to unwind and recharge afterward, this place hits the spot every time!

My Santa Fe wrap was delicious and really hit the spot! It was vegan so it was nice and light and was a great option for a fast meal. I also had the homemade Mac salad which was delicious. Their menu is super diverse with heavy to light sandwiches, lots of sides, chips, sweet treats, smoothies, and coffee. I wish I was more hungry so I could have tried more! The workers are super friendly and welcoming, and the decor is very cozy and home-y. I will absolutely return here for a meal next time I'm driving through Cle Elum.

That all ended this week! I finally got to come check this lovely establishment out, and we were blown away! My wife, one of our kids, and I all had equal reaction reactions when we stepped in. We all said something along the lines of. " this place is really nice and very inviting" It's housed in an old bank and they have done some great things with it. The vault is a small shop with a number of different local items available. The main seating area has wonderfully made tables, wood floors that are as nice as anything I've seen in a house, indeed, art, and decor on the wall is creative, warm and captures an essence that is perfectly and uniquely suited to the area. They have the expected vast array of caffeinated delights, a number of food options and even have local coffee, that is roasted on site, for sale. our orders came out quickly, and the staff was incredibly friendly. We have plenty of friends who are driving down here from Yakima on a regular basis. After getting a chance to try the place out, I can absolutely see why! This is literally a spot. We will stop every time. We are out this direction. Magnificent work creating an incredibly inviting space that serves up some delicious coffee!

I got a medium hot caramel latte and a "Bighorn" breakfast bagel sandwich. I thought the $12 price for the sandwich was steep, but not so much after I realized it's the size of a burger! The gal working behind the counter was friendly and my latte tasted excellent. The bathroom was very clean, and I'm glad they kept the thick, steel vault door as part of the decor as the building used to be a bank. I definitely have to come back for coffee when I'm in Washington again.

The owner bakes all the pastries in the case that greets diners first thing inside the door. We saw several people come in just to buy the treats. I had the Crab Stuffed Eggs Benedict that was fantastically delicious. Don't even get me started on the fluffy homemade biscuits with gravy. YUM! Real shredded hashbrowns, too, not the nuggets that seem to be everywhere else. Thick cut French Toast made with homemade raisin bread was heavenly. Server was friendly and prompt, owner came out to chat with us, too. We were a party of six that fit comfortably in a booth. Lots of cute signs and vintage decor. Can't wait to go back!

This place is a gem amidst a sea of corporate chain sandwich shops. I was running errands around lunchtime and, feeling peckish, I thought about something to eat. Now I had many more errands, so road food was the order of the day. But how many burgers can you eat? There are even some pretty good independent burger joints, but sometimes, you just want a sandwich. Now, for context, our progeny ate a school lunch maybe a half dozen times, total, throughout their school years. Most of the time, I made lunch, and the centerpiece was the sandwich. Carefully selected meats, fresh veggies, a wide variety of sauces (they can't even eat a roast beef sandwich to this day without a bit of horseradish in there somewhere) were combined with excellent bread. That is what I wanted. That is what I got. The bread choices are white or brown, but that's because the emphasis is on the interiors. The Italiano, with pastrami, salami, and pepperoni, is a classic combination, with provolone, pepperoncini, and "all the fixins" (In response to whether or not I wanted "everything" I replied "Fuck me up, sandwich sensei!") because I firmly believe in allowing the restaurant to present you with their wares, and let you decide if you like them. Now, the-woman-who-lets-me-live-with-her (thanks Mike), cannot stand black olives, but in this sandwich, they provide such a tempering influence of slightly salty, slightly bitter counterpoint to the sweet bell peppers, that it would have been poorer without them. I thought I was only going to eat about half and then save the rest, but I just couldn't help myself. I ate the whole dang thing. The vibe is classic sandwich shop, there is someone at the end of the line freshly slicing more meats as needed while two people turn out submarine deliciousness for an anxious crowd. Do not miss this place, it is a gem.

So, we TRIED to order from Sub Shop, however, they roll their sidewalks up at 5pm. And you can't order online after 4:30pm. Talk about a reason to "Yakima-don't buy into it". They claim to be cheaper than anyone else on subs, but you know, not by a significant amount. So, we went to Jersey Mike's instead cause they were not THAT much more and they seem to understand that sometimes, people work til 5pm or beyond. Would have loved to shopped local, but Sub Shop just makes it too difficult to do so.
