For those looking for a short yes or no, I would highly recommend Lee Company for anything they…read moreoffer. For those who want details, read on. My residence is in Madison, Alabama. Over the last couple years, I have used Lee Company for multiple services including plumbing, electrical work, air conditioning, and the latest, crawl-space encapsulation. The first experience was for some plumbing work and the experience was top-notch, so when I found the other area they work within, I contacted them when other needs arose. Their quality work, communication, expedience, and most notably, the quality of their staffing these areas continues to impress me. This review is primarily centered around the crawl-space encapsulation, but let it be known, the review pertains to every single time I've dealt with them, in every area. This project started out with a quote, which Josh came out and provided a clear quote, answered my questions, etc. It was not cheap by any means - roughly 22k, so the next step is obviously a second quote. For that, we contacted "the gorilla" of the industry. I explained to both parties that I am interested in fixing the problem, not eating or eating in my crawl-space. The second quote was roughly 30k, with the additional note that I would need to contact an electrician and arrange that work to be done outside of that. When the second quote was complete, the representative asked how that compared. I told him he was substantially higher, plus I would need to contract an electrician on my own. Rather than defend what was quoted, the representative immediately started throwing out things that were previously needed to "fix the problem" to get the price down to compete on price. I questions Josh about some of the items that were so quickly tossed by the gorilla and asked if an of those would be something I should consider adding and the answer was that it would not hurt to have those and Lee Company could provide them, but my situation did not require that to fix the problem. I liked the fact that Josh did not try to extract every penny possible from me, but rather respected what I was asking for, while it seemed the opposite after watching these events unfold. The 2-man crew (Ethan and Xavier) that showed up for the bulk of the encapsulation work was stellar. They showed up the morning they said, when they said, and my wife and I met them. They gave us a brief walk-though of their plans for the week's work (a reminder of what Josh outlined when telling us what to expect), and we left them to their business. At the end of the day, when we saw them packing the truck and collecting the day's debris, we would briefly meet with them, and we always got a 3 minute status report, what's next, what to expect tomorrow (maybe some noise when attaching the liners, etc.), and off they went. Every day, same thing. Professional but friendly, and getting it done. Then, the third day, the electrician arrived to take care of that part of the work, and they seamlessly continued the work at hand (NO additional work by me to schedule, arrange, etc.). This is the second time their breadth of capabilities helped - the other was when my water heater sprung a leak and the plumbers needed consult from an electrician to finish the project. At the end of this project, it looks amazing. I still don't want to eat or sleep down there, but I would not be frightened to do so, either. I've probably had about 7-8 projects now that I've used them for, and they have all been ones that deserve kudos. To the person who oversees the staffing and execution of Lee Company in Madison, Alabama, you have an exemplary staff, from call center, to sales, schedulers, and technicians. I don't pass out five-star reviews without reason - I will one star companies that deserve that in hopes they fix the problems and let others know to be cautious. I also don't feel compelled to review every service provide I use for something - if the service is generally as expected (3 star), I probably won;t bother. But I also make sure and try to help anyone who reads reviews, as well as those who are reviewing these from within Lee Company, know when they have a real winning environment. I honestly have not met or talked to anyone on the entire staff that I would hesitate to contract for their specialty. Whatever process you are using to select your representatives, I think you have a winning formula.

As a Plus Lee member, I have had six scheduled visits from the company to my house so far. They…read moreare efficient, upfront about the pricing and do a very good job. The experience that they offer makes me feel like no issue I am experiencing is too big for them to fix or show me how to fix. I am very glad that I called these guys the first day I had a problem (of my own doing).

None of the contracted work was completed, yet he's expecting me to pay full price for work that was shoddy, not done up to code, poor craftsmanship and never inspected by Peter, the general contractor with the license to perform services. Did not get a permit as required by Hamilton County. Came out to the job site once after the work started and only because I insisted due to the poor tile installation where his idea of quality control was me sending him a video of all the tiles taped in blue where they were uneven, had joint variances outside the allotment as indicated by the tile install compliance specs, and even though they used spacers none of the spacing was consistent. That was 95% of the tiles - see pictures attached. His crew backed out of the job after I complained about the poor tile install and about the hardwood floors finishing being blotchy and having t-bar marks all over the floor. He sent the hardwoods guys out to fix the t-bar marks and he only made it worse with his sanding and then expressed that mixing the top coat with amberizing makes it very hard to apply evenly and he really needs to sand the whole 1st level and redo all the slopes to make it even, after the fact, even though as "the expert" that was the application his chose. The sheen doesn't match at all (matte) compared to the original hardwoods (gloss to semi-gloss) as he never did samples so I could approve the sheen first. See attached photos. Peter decided to quit the job as he said their work would never live up to my expectations so it was better to part ways. Great customer service! Peter won't provide me with an itemized invoice for the work he claims was complete even though I asked many many times. He sent me an invoice for all the credits back for the things he didn't get to, even claiming the pantry was done when the door hadn't even been ordered and none of the shelving installed. To top it off, his crew left hot wires hanging in the attic, switches dangling (knowing I have young kids), exposed breaker panel boxes, drywall half finished (no attention to detail on sanding or properly finishing nail holes), open sewer plumbing pipes, and etc.. Horrible experience where I feel like he just took my money and left me high and dry because I challenged the poor quality of work. What's the point of hiring a GC if they don't even oversee and inspect their crews work for quality assurance and customer satisfaction?!? I've asked him to partially refund the payment made for all the incomplete and poor quality work and he went silent...so needless to say I had no other choice but to hire an inspector who specializes in litigation and file a civil suit to recoup my money, costing me more unnecessary expenses. Definitely would not recommend hiring!

Pete and his crew are great! Honest, careful, and quick. I'll be using TribSouth again in the…read morefuture when I'm ready to take on another major home project.
