I have seen Robin and her team for years now. Prior to Robin, I went to a gynecologist at one of the bigger clinics/hospitals. They wanted to do an invasive procedure on me and when I had concerns and questions, they pretty much dismissed me and said it was the only way. I found Robin on yelp and during this time I was on Vacation. I was paranoid and she re-assured me that she will take a look at my report and we can take it step by step. Once back from vacation, I went to see Robin and we sat down and discussed my concerns. Robin gave me an alternate option that the previous Dr. did not even explore. This facility is the holy grail of all women's health care specialists. There are no words to describe how truly incredible the staff is, but I can try. We'll start from the beginning. When you first walk in the ambiance is welcoming and calming. Obviously, medical offices can be scary and nerve racking for the most of us, yet they do such a good job of creating a space where you feel comfortable. The receptionists I've encountered have all been so nice and easy going. Becca, especially, is so kind! I've seen both Robin and Shawnna and they are both always very gentle and very informative. Going to get your lady parts checked can be intimidating but, walking into Robin's office was a breath of fresh air! I was greeted by the most amazing women named Becca. She's wearing a mask but you could feel her smile and positive presence from a mile away. She got me checked in made me feel very welcome and comfortable. Robin is honestly the most amazing women I have ever encountered in the medical field. I've literally told all of my girlfriends about her. All my questions were answered, she went into detail on all the questions I had and instead of just trying to rush me out the door she treated me like a patient. A person who matters and isn't just a money sign. She truly cares about what she does and I wish every experience was like that going in for a women exam. Who the hell wakes up thinking, "oh! can't wait to go in for an annual woman exam!" Not me! They are uncomfortable in more ways that one. However, I found Dr. Black on yelp, went to see her, and she made everything as comfortable as humanly possible. Would definitely recommend. Staff is also great. read more

One star is knocked off because their daily schedule is so weird. I called at 10am on a weekday and no one answered...it really varies though. I've been coming here for around 3+ years now and though it is kind of a drive, I received good service. I have no one to compare to when it comes to looking at my lady bits in a medical setting, so I'll say this: they were thorough and able to answer any questions I had. Whenever I had a visit, the gyno (I've had Shawna/Robin - they're both nice and non-judgmental) just did her thing as she conversed with me about anything but my vagina (if I didn't have questions). When tests were done, I got results back in a timely manner and if I did not pick up the phone, they left a voice mail. The reason why I won't be attending this facility anymore is because they don't accept my insurance is not accepted here after I switched. I'm a bit saddened that a new nurse practitioner will be looking at my lady bits but I guess that's how the ball rolls. Never once did I feel uncomfortable and it was always a sterile environment. Robin Black and LEEP saved my life. In my mid 20s I had an abnormal pap that turned out to be High grade pre-cancer of the cervix. Robin performed Cryo, and later Leep as it recurred a couple years later. Without regular screening and close follow up, this would have been missed. For years, no doctor could detect visually that I had had a Leep surgery performed on my cervix. One doctor did say, after looking at my medical records, that I was lucky to be alive. That if they had not caught the abnormal cells when they did, I probably would have been dead in a year. This shocked the heck out of me and made me very grateful. When I became pregnant with my daughter Lola at age 40, I alerted my docs that I had undergone Leep in my early 20s. They monitored my cervical length closely because it could have been short and I may have had to go on bed rest. Not only was my length not short, but it was slightly longer. Again, the docs could not detect that I had ever had Leep. I carried my baby normally and delivered vaginally. I am now 41 and am pregnant with my second child. I feel like I owe my life to Robin and LEEP. I am so sad that thanks to government cuts, young women cannot get the paps that they need and possibly prevent death. After 20 years, I still know Robin Black and am so glad that she is still doing what she was put on this earth to do. Save lives. Hopefully, the government cuts won't prevent this from happening. read more

I have been going here for years. It is about 45 minutes away from where I live but I won't go anywhere else. It's such a peaceful place especially for exams that are so uncomfortable. Everyone there is really nice, it's affordable, professional and I love that fact that you can email Robin and she gets back to you SO quickly! The only downside, I wish their hours were better but honestly, no complaints other than that. Highly recommended! read more

Her significant experience and great extent of obstetrician / gynecological knowledge have helped me get through some really difficult and trying situations with the best outcomes. Thankfully I truly believe it's because of Robin that has always been the case. Most importantly Robin is a great person with a big heart. She truly cares about her patients well being and helps other women who do not have health insurance get the care they need at a very inexpensive rate. She is sensitive, empathetic and has a natural way of making you feel better about results and/or treatments. Even though I have moved to another state, I still go to Robin because she is that good. I called this place and got a voicemail saying they were out of the office and to leave a message, so I did. A couple hours later I got a call back by Robin and she was able to get me an appointment for the following day. When I got there it wasn't jam packed like most places. The front desk receptionist was very warm and welcoming. Robin was so informative, kind, and patient with all my questions. Highly recommend seeing Robin for your gyn needs! She has the rare health care provider combination of being incredibly knowledgeable and up-to-date on research and guidelines, but at the same time she is warm and you can tell that she genuinely cares about her patients. After seeing Robin with FamPact for some years and then getting different insurance, I went to an OBGYN who was in my network. Man, did I regret that! I would rather pay cash (she offers very reasonable prices too) and continue to see Robin because I know that I can trust that she consistently provides evidence based care and treats me kindly. Unlike the other provider I saw, Robin performs exams gently and communicates every aspect of what she is doing each step of the way so you never feel awkward or nervous. I had to have a colpo done and I was so nervous about it. Turns out I didn't have to feel that way because Robin was so gentle with the procedure that I barely felt a thing! The office is warm and Robin and her staff are always friendly and helpful and get back to you promptly if you have questions or with lab results. 5++++ stars! read more

I was recommended to Robin Black by my college after my first pap test showed an abnormal smear. The location was a little bit hidden but there is designated parking right across the entrance. My first visit for consultation was very short. They have a tablet for you to set up your health profile with them. The receptionist was very kind and helpful. I met Robin Black. She was very caring and explained what a colposcopy procedure is. On my procedure appointment day, I signed a waiver as soon as I walked in and was immediately taken to the procedure room. Robin made me feel very comfortable and she answered all of my questions thoroughly during the procedure. She makes you feel so calm that it goes by really quick. I would definitely recommend all my friends to go to her for any and all of the procedures she offers. read more

I recently moved to CA and was in need of an OB. The birth center I contacted recommended I see her.
