First appointment (10/14): When making the appt I was asked for a model and brand of the appliance for which I provide. On appt date the tech, Craig showed up to repair the freezer part of refrigerator and I have to demand that he put either his booty cover on or remove his shoes before entering the home. Once he entered, he walked over to the kitchen and realize that my refrigerator is a built-in and said he doesn't know how fix built-in. Then he opened up my freezer and saw it was at -10 degrees and straight up said it's not broken and who the hell set it to -10. It wouldn't help the problem anyway in a rude tone of voice. I then tried to explained to him the problem with freezer not keeping ice cream frozen and ice not being make and how the temp fluctuate from -10 to 25 degree throughout the day and no one tamper with the temperature up and down button, however he keeps on interrupting saying that's not relevant and someone did tamper with it and I don't really care what you say. He then open up a panel on the back of the freezer and found out the compressor is only 10% working, but then he said he can't fix it and would cost probably $1000 or more to fix it with another guy he knows and he will contact him to call me. NO CALL for this so call guy so far. Also, during his visit my mom came back in from her errands and not knowing that someone is inside the house so she didn't wears her mask (who would have thought that you need to wear a mask inside your own home) and the tech rudely and loudly said "you have to put on your mask." Instead of asking nicely. Hello...that's just crappy manner and unprofessional. Also I just can't believe that an appliance repair tech can't make repair after diagnosis and still have the gut to charge $100 for service call when a service is not render to completion. That $100 was a fee for him to unscrew like 4 screws to open up the panel and tell me he can't fix it. I plan on file this complain with WA Attorney General and the BBB. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM THIS SKETCHY COMPANY. UPDATE: Today (NOVEMBER 3rd) I received a phone call from a lady screaming at me because I filed a dispute with my credit card company on the service charge. She was rude and I was unable to communication with her at all as she keeps on interrupting why I have to dispute the charge when I am aware that I will be charge a service charge for diagnosis. So, first of all, the tech Craig NEVER diagnose anything as the first thing he said to me after seeing the fridge is that " oh it's a built-in and we don't deal with built-in." and the next thing he did was unscrewed that 4 screws to reveal a compressor and said "oh the compressor is out and need to be replace. It will cost over $1000 and I will have someone else call you to get that going." While he said this the compressor was working and running like a horse and I said "it's working so can it be something else that is wrong that is not compressor. Maybe the control board?" He replies " no way and he put the 4 screws back on, left and charge me $89 plus tax. No follow up call as promised by someone who can fix it even I told him I am ok with the cost of fixing it until today when a lady called to scream about the dispute. Of course I am not dumb sitting around waiting for someone to never going to call me to follow up anyway. So, I called another company to come do a diagnosis. Tech came by and done a proper diagnosis with checking on the compressor again, and check the control board. Guess what, the control board was the problem, Control board replaced (by unscrewing 2 screws, detached the control board, re-install new board, and put screws back on). All in all this task took about 30 minutes. It was $99 for part and $150 for labor, so $349 plus tax, the fridge is back up and running again with no issue for over 3 weeks and counting. So my point is Rob's Appliances Repair can't do even make a proper diagnosis. Their tech just show up, unscrewed a few screws, put it back on and charge you because they "showed" up. There's absolutely no customer satisfaction at all. The rudest people work for them especially the lady answering the phone. You would think that the person who is the initial point of contact with a potential customer would be polite, friendly and communicative...NOT MY EXPERIENCE SO FAR. The Rob's Appliance technician knew exactly part had broken in our 1996 freezer (no longer got cold) when I described the symptoms and model # over the phone. He came out and fixed it quickly (with a OEM Whirlpool part, not aftermarket) for a reasonable price. He also wore a mask without asking, which was really nice. read more

Fidelity insurance dispatched Rob's to look at our stove and fridge and the experience was disheartening to say the least. First off after 60 yrs on this planet this is not my first stove or fridge... I DO know how they work and the basic principle behind how they works, a lesson in operation is not what we needed. So yep.... oven not fixed. I will give him credit, he did locate the problem with the hot surface light. From the moment he entered the house you can tell that he hated his job. we nicely asked immediately asked him to take his shoes, his replied in a loud voice "NO IM NOT TAKING MY SHOES OFF!!! I GUESS I WILL HAVE TO GO BACK TO THE CAR AND GET SOME BOOTIES." both verbally aggressive and aggressive body gestures. When he asked what was the issue with the washer and dryer, I explained washer is only for maintenance, again with his aggressive tone he replied WE DON'T DO Maintenance Only REPAIR. The technician came out and per the request of the lady I made the appointment with I was wearing a mask. My daughter was upstairs in her room doing school, opened the door for a second to let the dog in to her room and the tech said to me "the mask rule applies to the kids too". I informed him she only opened the door for a second to let the dog in and she'd be staying in her room. Then my husband walked out for a quick second and the tech asked me "is he staying in his room too?". Mind you, the tech was still standing on my front porch and my entire family was upstairs 20 feet away from him. He seemed irritated when I would try to clarify what he was saying and he could tell I wasnt understanding what he was trying to explain. I appreciate that he told me the fix would be hundreds of dollars and that Maybe what happened last time I used my oven was a weird fluke because it seems to be working now. This is the 3rd time I have used Rob's Appliance Service but my first review for their company. Yesterday Rob came out and hooked up my new gas range which was a little more technical than originally thought. Bottom line Rob stayed until both my ovens fired up and all of my burners lit up. Each time he has come out his service was very professional and the price very fair. About 3 years ago he installed a new gas fireplace in my living room and it is just fantastic with no problems. We had an amazing experience with robs appliance. We were given a time window and not only were they on time , we were called ahead to let us know they were on the way. Craig the technician was courteous, respectful, and professional as he talked us through the repair job. We were given a reasonable quote upfront and he made sure he would tell us as he inspected the broken appliance when it would make more sense to buy a new unit. Luckily for us the stove was repairable , and he had the correct part already on hand so no waiting or second visits necessary. I was in a panic, my freezer would not freeze after I flash defrosted it and was going to loose a $$$$ of food, and did not have the money for a new upright freezer, I called in the morning and they came out same day a few hours later and within approx 30 min they fixed it cheaper than Sears and way faster , I will definitely use them in the future. read more

The ice maker on my older fridge/freezer stopped making ice. My Robs tech was out, on time, and gave me several possible causes, tried them, and found and replaced the broken piece. I will never use this business again. I called them to fix a broken Whirlpool washing machine, and gave them the model number over the phone. They said they would send their "washer person" over in a couple days. He did show up at the promised time. Their policy is to charge about $80 service fee to show up, then that will be applied to the repair cost if you should have them repair it. He took the front panel off (2 screws) and shown his flashlight inside the unit. He attached his voltmeter to 2 wires. He said they had no idea how to narrow down what was wrong with it, there are 3 circuit boards or it could have broken wire, and would cost maybe $700 or more to fix, and he wasnt sure they could fix it.He said that they would have to buy parts and keep swapping them out until it was fixed, but they could not return any unneeded parts. He stated that basically all these new washers are junk and that Frigidaire and Maytag are just Whirlpools inside. He said he didnt know anything about LGs or Samsungs or any other brand either except that GE was junk too. His recommendation was to "call Whirlpool and have them look at it, but it would be very expensive". For that he charged me $80 and left. I called the competition, who came over that evening. He also suspected that one of the circuit boards was out. He was able to do some diagnostics in order to determine which one was likely bad. He ordered the part for $365 and installed it for another $110. read more

Craig from Robs Appliance was argumentative and irritated from the moment he came in the house and saw my service dog and went into a whole conversation about how fearful he is of dogs. I had to put her outside for his comfort not mine! He argued the entire time about having to view the washer actually leak. He removed 2 hairs and felt that was the problem. I had a great experience with Rob's Appliance. They fixed a coolant leak in our French Door Refrigerator a couple of years ago. To my surprise the freezer stopped working again recently. When I contacted Rob's to take a look at it again they reminded me they provided a warranty on their repairs. I certainly didn't remember that. However, I realized I was beyond the two year time frame so wasn't expecting them to be able to do anything in that regard. This appliance company sent their tech out. Lady from the office called 5 mins before he arrived to say we should put clothes in the washer and start the cycle. Meanwhile the tech shows up and is furious at me for not getting the load in and started. The tech started using profanity and saying " I am not staying here all day through to the end of a cycle just to see whats wrong with this thing" I made him leave the property. Please don't hire this company, customers don't deserve to be abused by repair techs having a bad day. Office women never called me back. Rob's appliance company is sub contracted by Fidelity Home warranty services and it seems they have made deal with each other on how to avoid any claims. I was assigned this company for my microwave investigation which was installed by original builder and it worked well for many many years. Technician was so old that he was not able to lift microwave and took my wife help and started advising to buy new rather than spending time looking into. They charged me service fee and didn't even bother to inform me about issue. Finally after my followup they didn't want to fix it and gave all excuses that it was not fitted well . This microwave was originally fit by builder and it worked well for many years. They are totally unprofessional and I would never recommend anyone to take services from these folks as they just know how to make customers unhappy by giving bad service. read more

Rob's appliance was sent to my home on two separate warranty calls. Both times the service provider was argumentative and stated that unless he saw the issue occurring right in front of his eyes, there's nothing he can do about it. He left my home without diagnosing the cause of my leaking washing machine or acknowledging there is a problem even though it was clearly sitting in 2 inches of water. He first tried to blame it on the wrong kind of detergent, but the detergent was HE as the machine recommended. Then he tried to say I put too much soap in, yet I used a measuring cup as recommended. I asked if there was a checklist of items he usually goes through to eliminate a problem. He told me he didn't appreciate me questioning him and he's been doing this for 20 years. He also told me the loud noise coming from my dryer was the same noise his personal machine has been making for years but he noise was new for my machine, and he offered no explanation as to why my dryer stops midcycle and doesn't properly dry our clothing. Again, he had to "see it happen" in order to diagnose it. The fact that my dryer stops mid-cycle and my washing machine was sitting in water meant nothing. I asked if he was going to stay and observe multiple loads of laundry to demonstrate the leak and he said no. Bottom line is I was expected to pay for someone to come out to tell me my washing machine shouldn't have been placed on an appliance pan because it was inconvenient for him to get to and it wouldn't stop a large leak anyway, the pounding noise my dryer is making is common, and the intermittent stopping and the washing machine leak can't be diagnosed unless observed first hand, and best of all, I shouldn't question anything because of his experience. You would think after 20 years of experience there would be a common list of problems for both of these issues that could be easily diagnosed or at least ruled out by following a checklist. The disrespect, vagueness, and lack of concern for these issues is beyond frustrating. I would never recommend using Rob's appliance for anything. Don't waste your time or money. read more

An appointment was made and on the morning of the scheduled appointment received a call that they may arrive early but would call if they would. One hour prior to his scheduled arrival received a call from the servicemen who informed us that he would not be coming as he didn't have a schematic. We had Robs Appliance come to fix our dryer 8 months ago. I don't remember the name of the guy who came out, but he was condensending and rude. He fixed the problem though. Now 8 months later (of course past the 90 day warranty) it seems like we are having the same problem. The dryer is only 3 years old. My husband called and was told the same technician would be sent out. He declined due to how rude and condensending he was the first time. We will be trying to fix it ourselves. I would not do business with this company again. Ever. Hope this review saves someone else from having to deal with that technician, whom must be the only one since they couldn't send us someone different. If you find out your Home Warrenty Company has assigned you Rob's do yourself a favor, call and request an appointment with ANY other company. The service guy would not fix our leaking front loader washer because his eyes did not see it drip. There are water stains, a bend in the seal, and a clear path from where the dripping occurs, which HE pointed out LOL. The guy, Craig I think it was, was not willing to wait the full cycle to see it drip because he "fixed" it by wiping two hairs off the seal. He needed to borrow a paper towel in order to accomplish that "fix". He was just so strange and unwilling to believe the washer was leaking. What a racket they are running. He did fix two minor issues but not the major issue I called for. We offered to pay the company directly for a new seal but he said it would be over $300.00, which is weird because he was already there and the part costs about 60 bucks on Amazon. Then when he asked to be paid the warrenty fee I explained I would feel more comfortable paying once the main issue was resolved (he suggested we call back when the washer is in the process of leaking LMFAO). He stomped out of the house like a winey baby, so unprofessional! I did alert the warrenty company so hopefully others don't have this guy in their home. I just bought a new washer and dryer rather than deal with this company. Avoid at all costs! It is disappointing that this company is allowed to operate and waste people's valuable time, thank goodness for yelp!
