Just like many of the other reviews state, Appliance Service Station is an unscrupulous business that aims to profit off of service call fees rather than for an exchange of value delivered. Don't waste your time, or if you already did then do like I am and let Viking know directly not to list them as a "Silver" tier authorized repair vendor. All they do is show up and decline to do the repair then charge you a fee. Basically the only qualification I can think this business model requires is that a person have a driver's license. I want to congratulate the company on the professional staff they sent to my house to repair our Miele steam oven combo. Don, the service technician was extremely competent and professional. He even came to our house with the replacement part. The cost was less than $500.00. It was quite a difference from the previous company we contacted, "5 Star Appliance & HVAC" which told us that the unit was too old. They wanted to charge us over $2,000.00 for the repair and another $1,500.00 to take it out of the wall!!! read more

I had this company out in September to effect a repair on my Miehle dishwasher. I was assured that there was a 2 year warranty on their work. The same error message as before occurred in mid-November. I called them for a warranty service and was told that they couldn't get to me for two weeks. I was given a 1:00 PM appointment time for today. I called at 1:00 PM to ask when to expect the technician and was told that he hadn't made it into work yet. They called me back with a 2:00 - 4:00 PM arrival window. They did not show up at all. Do yourself a favor and find another firm to service your appliance. These guys are a clown show... read more

I had business with Appliance Service Station to fix my Bosch ventilator in April. The technician found the problem quickly with less than 20mins and said the part needs to be replaced. Told us to wait till mid July since the part needed to be shipped over from Germany. Until here it was ok. Towards mid July, i didn't get any contact from the company so I reached out. They scheduled an appointment in Aug to replace the part. Just one day after they emailed again saying the part was no longer produced so they had to cancel the appointment, asking me to replace the whole machine. I asked what model would be compatible to replace, never got response. I was billed $150 something for the labor, getting nothing after the 3 months' wait. Waste of my time and money. Don't know if it's a Bosch or Appliance Station problem, but definitely disappointing and poor customer service. read more

TL;DR Find someone else to service your appliances. I was referred to appliance service station by metropolitan appliance in order to fix my Bertazoni induction stove top in November 2021. They placed an order for a replacement part and scheduled an appointment for me in January. I happened to follow up myself in December to find out the part was on back order indefinitely. I did my own research and found a different part number that was available, but needed to reschedule my appointment even later in January to make sure it arrived on time for their booking schedule. I went 3 months without a working stove, which probably would have been longer if I hand not followed up myself. I would have left things at that without a poor review, but then this place really showed how awful they are when the part they installed previously broke in November 2022. When I called they told me the part was outside of their 1-year warranty - even though it wasn't even installed by them until late January of the previous year, which was clearly within a 1-year service warranty period. After pressing them on the issue they finally said it may be within warranty - but they would have to send out a technician to verify, which wasn't until February! And just to verify it was under warranty! Which would mean another 2+ months to order and schedule another installation after that! This was clearly an unethical attempt to get out of their warranty obligations. I guess it worked, because I couldn't go 5 months without a working stove, so I cancelled the appointment and looked for help elsewhere. read more

Because they are the authorized service people for appliance warranties (from Albert Lee Appliance, my next 1 star review), I have had the misfortune of dealing with their ineptness multiple times. For a refrigerator, a freezer and now an oven, this company has been the authorized warranty provider when I call Albert Lee to report problems. Every time, Albert Lee tells me they will call the provider. Then I hear nothing. So I call Albert Lee back. Albert Lee acts surprised when I say I haven't been contacted. Then I immediately get a call. No appointments for WEEKS. Even with our only refrigerator, which was supposedly a "higher level" because, well, for most people having fresh food in the home is a basic necessity. Unfortunately, every time they come out, they can never resolve the issue the first time - which I get - things are complicated & without seeing something it isn't reasonable to expect that. HOWEVER, it then has taken WEEKS for them to receive whatever random party they THINK is needed, often to not solve the problem at all, then rinse & repeat. We were without a refrigerator for 2+ months. And throughout the process of troubleshooting, ordering parts, re-ordering parts - the company was ridiculously uncommunicative. I had to call to follow up every time. I would call Albert Lee then Appliance Service Station directly - and no matter who I spoke with - everyone would say, "so and so didn't call you? that is so weird..." OR there would be some excuse about someone being out sick, a computer problem, something that happened that day, blah blah blah. Seriously this happened with every appliance I've had problems with (another problem considering these are all brand new.) Horrible communication, poor scheduling availability, people who blame other people ("so and so ordered the wrong part", "the other guy couldn't find the part in his truck", "Thermador doesn't train us on this stuff", "so and so didn't make a note in your file").... The freezer issue was the worst because I ultimately had to contact the manufacturer myself to push them to replace my appliance (after multiple service visits, lots of me calling to figure out what was going on - no proactivity whatsoever.) Neither the retailer (Albert Lee), nor this service company were representing my interest. They were barely bothering to make phone calls & get someone scheduled. They would have happily come to my house infinity times to not fix my appliance as long as I would keep calling them to remind them. So now my oven is broken. It took them 3 weeks to get someone to my house. Then the guy left (I wasn't here, but someone let them in) without leaving a me note or giving me a call. I gave them 24 hours to contact me - nothing. I called Albert Lee first. After they called the service company someone called & she said, "John hasn't updated the file yet since today is his day off. We'll get an update to you tomorrow when he uses his laptop." And I'm assuming no part(s) have been ordered...until John can use his laptop to share his wisdom with the world. And then it'll take forever to get the part. Then forever for them to schedule with me (because they won't call me, I will have to call them)...then it won't work... Apparently everyone is super busy, so I guess business is good. Theydon't have much competition and we (customers) are all accepting that this is how it all has to work, which is sad, but I guess it's just the way it is. read more

A few months ago, our dishwasher (a typical kitchen built-in Bosch) stopped draining properly. It wasn't overflowing onto the floor, but the water was always right up to the seals around the bottom, and we had some doubts about whether it was cleaning things properly. I did some research about do-it-yourself repairs, diagnosed the drain blockage, and even managed to get some gunk out of the drain. But it still didn't drain properly. We called Appliance Service Station because they had the best Yelp of Bosch authorized repair company), and they dispatched a repair guy. I remember that they were really good about the scheduling, and that the guy was on schedule, but I forgot to make a note of how long the wait was between the call and the service visit. Anyway, the repair guy arrived, took a few things apart, and removed an assortment of debris from the drain. Based on the type of debris, I suspect mischief by our almost-five-year-old. The repair guy checked a few more things, tested the dishwasher, and everything looked fine. The entire job was done in just a few minutes. The price seemed like a lot for such a quick job, but I understand that there has to be a minimum charge to cover travel time to the location. That's just the way it is for repairs on something you can't carry in to a repair shop. As noted, the repairs were a few months go, and no additional problems have turned up with the dishwasher. I'd call that a success. I don't have any complaints about the work or the company. My four star "Yay! I'm a fan" rating is favorable, and I'd call them again. If they're this good next time, I'll upgrade to a five star "Woohoo! As good as it gets!" read more

Nice technician but deep management problems as far as I can tell. Three service visits and over a month without a range but they can't/won't authorize a rush order on the part despite having ordered the wrong one previously. Fingers crossed that visit number four will work but at this point I'm not betting on it. Back of the line on scheduling each time and you have to call them to check on the parts. Just not a well-run outfit; apparently they have enough work that they don't have to try? Recommend you take your business elsewhere. read more

Don came out to diagnose an intermittent leaking dishwasher. He was extremely thorough and went through a number of things that could be causing it to leak inconsistently, including actually properly installing our dishwasher in the cabinet! He even called the Miele rep to get additional ideas on what the problem might be. He didn't replace any parts but said to call back if it started again and they would not charge labor to replace the seal (which looked fine but he suspected might be the culprit if it happened again). 2 months later, it did start dripping again. Don came back out, did another thorough examination, and replaced the seal. He told us to keep the old seal in case it starts leaking again so that we could reinstall the old one and be refunded for the new one. Don was one of the most thorough repair person I've ever used. He didn't take the easy way out but checked every aspect of the machine as well as gave us advice on the care and cleaning of the machine. read more

They got our Asko washer and dryer fixed in a timely and honest manner. Their customer service is great. The booking process was quick. I called them a couple of times and they always had someone pick up the phone and help out. The technician arrived per schedule, fixed all the issues, and the got the machines running again. Having had so many bad experiences with appliance repair services, with missed appointments, unfamiliarity with the appliance, hidden fees, etc. I live in fear of picking up the phone when one breaks. What a breath of fresh air these folks are. I have a Fisher & Paykal fridge that sprang a leak. I'm pretty mechanically adept (old Navy submariner) and beat my head against the wall trying to find it. I looked around for service, calling several places (including the dealer that sold it to me) and couldn't get straight answers, or referrals to outfits that "fix anything." When I called Appliance Service Station they were immediately familiar with my fridge and scheduled an appointment. Don showed up exactly when he said he would, and quickly found the issue. He was clearly familiar with the workings of our fridge brand and model. He checked on availability of the part and let me know when he would be back to replace it. All at a price FAR below what other places had wanted just to show up. I'm a big believer in "do what you say you're going to do" and these folks did just that. The team that came to my house were quick, efficient and fantastic! I highly recommend them. They worked on my Viking Oven as well as my Bosch Washer and Dryer! They explained what needed to be fixed and what may be a possible problem in the future, for example; i may need hinges on my stove. He gave me the option to add this on, but let me know that we had a while, so we waited. They are very upfront and honest. Our Fisher & Paykel fridge has been beeping at us for awhile. Scott arrived on time, masked, and fixed the issue quickly. This was a fairly complex repair to the sensor wiring in the flap of one of the doors. He was incredibly professional and knowledgeable on our too-smart-for-its-own-good fridge. The repair cost was less than I anticipated and we're enjoying a beep free fridge now. Our Blue Star oven was not heating properly and the gas burners were doing some mysterious things that didn't seem safe. With just a month before the holidays, I was looking at a baking season disaster. I called Appliance Service Station after reading some good reviews. The scheduler was clear and professional about the times that were available, and how I would be notified before the appointment to narrow down the exact time. (Expecting someone to come for a service call and then not show up or be late is frustrating) She explained that Don would be in our neighborhood that day and would do the repairs. Don showed up exactly when the appointment was scheduled. He was friendly, professional, and after a quick check, he knew what to do. A mat was put down to protect our floor and he got to work. I was going to do some yard work, but he was so interesting explaining how everything works, that I stayed and listened to him!! While he replaced the igniter he shared some great tips how I could do some maintenance myself and keep the stove working more efficiently. Who doesn't want to avoid another service call down the road if possible. The stove works great now! When the repair was done, Don cleaned everything up so beautifully and cheerfully left for his next job. There are times when you feel you hit the jack-pot! This was one of those times. It was such a good experience that I wanted to report it. I would not hesitate to call Appliance Service Station in the future if another appliance starts to do mysterious things! My Bosh dishwasher, installed in October 2019, stopped working. It was out of warranty, so I called Lowe's because I had purchased their extended warranty . After almost two hours on hold over several calls to different Lowe's departments, they said they couldn't find somebody to repair it. So, they sent me an email saying that they would give me a merchandise card for the dishwasher plus tax. They WOULDN'T REFUND WHAT I PAID FOR A WORTHLESS extended warranty or reimburse me for the repair cost(fine print in their warranty). So, I went online and found Appliance Service Station. A Bosch certified repair company. Called them and received an appointment for a service call 11/2 days later. I was lucky as Washington was under a COVID-19 closure for 3 months and everybody was trying to get their Bosch appliances fixed. Today, Glenn from Appliance Service Station arrived ONTIME as promised. After checking out the machine he found the problem, something had stopped the pump. He said that it was a common problem with Bosch dishwashers. HE THEN SHOWED IS HOW TO CORRECT IT AND GET THE MACHINE WORKING AGAIN! He also gave us a hint on how to make sure the door latch worked correctly. Glenn did not appear to be a repairman who would change parts and be off. A big plus for his employer. Appliance Service Station charge was quite reasonable. As a result of this experience I'll think twice about buying another extended warranty from Lowe's. However, I'LL ALWAYS RECOMMEND Appliance Service Station for Bosch appliances. read more

I am APPALLED that this company has 4 stars. THE ABSOLUTE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EXPERIENCE. DO NOT USE THIS "SERVICE" COMPANY. We chose to go with this company because they quoted us for $170 for a service including parts and we thought that was a decent deal. Everything that happened went awry. They sent 2 men who had NO IDEA what they were doing. After telling us specifically not to buy a part in advance of the service because it "was part of the flat rate fee" they separated it out in the bill at 4X the market rate. They also then lied about having ever said this. The two useless "techs" putzed around for 1.5 hours, were rude, and left without fixing the machine. They even put the door on backwards, then said it didn't work because we had lost a part. We fixed it ourselves in ~20-30m after they left using youtube videos and without having to purchase any additional pieces making it all the more clear that these two men had no clue what they were doing. Regardless, they still got away charging for the experience. After getting the bill for 2X what was quoted, we called to see if we couldn't sort out a reasonable agreement. The supposed manager was hostile and irrational. She talked in circles lying to us about what was said, how they had documentation... and then didn't have documentation when pushed because "[they] probably just threw it out". She talked over us the entire time unwilling to listen to what actually happened and was pompous enough to claim that we got a deal on the exchange. Overall rating: 1. Comically unprofessional (at every level) 2. Do not have service expertise... or even marginally knowledgable techs 3. Zero interest in resolving your issues; only interested in con-artist money 4. DIDN'T FIX OUR DRYER!! AND CHARGED US 2X WHAT WAS QUOTED These people make a mockery of the service industry and need to be weeded out. read more

Recently I discovered that Sears and other service companies are not authorized to service my refrigerator, and that basically my only choice is Appliance Service Station. When I called there was no doubt I was interrupting the customer service person's day. At some point I actually apologized to her for asking a question, fearful that I might bother her further and get some version of spit in my coils, or they wouldn't come to my place. Clearly they gave me the impression they would rather do something else. This is one of those deals where to have the guy come to your house is a flat fee; labor and parts are in addition. When I told her what I wanted she crabbily reviewed this policy in a manner that led me to believe I was lucky to have the pleasure of this service call. Later, when I looked them up on the web to do some research I learned that they were actually offering a special on the exact service I requested (check and clean the condensers and compressors). When I called again I was referred to someone else who changed the work-order; while not mean like the other person she by no measure was friendly. So the guy came out and checked the compressors or condensers or whatever with his special fancy refrigerator tools and I learned no problem there. This took about 5 minutes. To clean the coils (this is one of those setups where the coils are on top with minimal clearance) he asked me if I had a vacuum. I said Yes and retrieved it. He proceeded to do what I had attempted to do in the past but never felt like I was doing anything because of the awkward setup. Really, I figured he would have more special fancy tools; maybe at least his own vacuum with special attachments. For the friendliness of the technician I give Appliance Service Station three stars. For the customer service rep's extremely sour attitude I take away one star. For the high price to do what I've done in the past as well as spend 5 minutes checking the pressure I take another star leaving them with one star. I completed their online customer survey but never heard back from them. So I'm sure I'm screwed should anything ever go wrong with my refrigerator, so here's my candid review. read more

ASS, Inc. came to my home to replace a dented over door from a new installation. Sam,the technician, was friendly and seemed knowledgeable. When we were talking about ovens, I mentioned that I'd put foil in my new oven to catch drips. He told me that I wasn't supposed to do that, and we noticed that, like he'd guessed, the foil had adhered to the center of my brand new oven. Imagine my shock and disappointment! But Sam reassured me that most of the foil would come off with the use of Easy-Off (safe for self-cleaning ovens) and a Scotch Brite scouring pad. Upon his departure I went straight to Safeway and bought the recommended items. I followed the instructions to a tee. However, when I began wiping up the Easy-Off, my daughter and I noticed that the black oven enamel was also bubbling and coming off! Right away I called Sam and told him the problem. He told me that ASS, Inc. has recommended the same solution many times in his 7 years with the company and that his manager Carl does the same. He advised me to call Dacor or the makers of Easy-Off about this issue. Dacor told me that the oven manual specifically states NOT to use corrosive cleaners (such as Easy-Off) nor scouring pads as these can damage the oven. Why then, would a State Certified Technician from ASS, Inc. recommend that?! So, I took the issue back to ASS, Inc. and spoke with Carl (Operations Manager). Thus began the reason for my lack of stars and my recommendation to NEVER USE THIS COMPANY! EVER! After weeks of going back and forth, including receiving a call from the incredibly rude ASS, Inc. employee "Debby" while Carl was out sick, they just decided to get back with me yesterday via email, informing me that the now RUINED $3000 oven was my problem and mine alone. They state the reason the enamel lining lifted off was 100% due to the foil (even though the foil never touched the corner areas where the enamel lifted) and that the Easy-Off and Scotch Brite scouring pads are perfectly safe when used according to the manufacturers directions. They, ASS, Inc. had been "absolved" by their Dacor rep "of any wrong doing in the damage to my appliance" Really? Why then does using these items nullify my warranty??? After hearing both sides of our stories, mine and that of ASS, Inc., Dacor offered me a new oven at a significantly reduced price, plus shipping and tax. A generous good-will offer. I asked ASS, Inc. to cover this oven replacement cost (which would be relatively minor to a company such as theirs), but they replied with, "Appliance Service Station accepts no responsibility for the condition of your oven as it was damaged prior to our arrival." Uh, excuse me, ASS, Inc. -- PRIOR to your arrival, I had a brand new oven that had some small bits of foil stuck to the bottom with an enamel lining perfectly intact! By following Sam's instruction, I now have a $3000 oven that is "ruined" (Dacor rep's words to me). Now, after finding them on YELP, I'm seeing other negative reviews of this company -- reviews of their terrible customer service, exorbitant fees and rude office employees. Yes, all true and I couldn't agree more. Additionally, SHOULD THEY DAMAGE YOUR APPLIANCE OR MAKE RECOMMENDATIONS THAT NULLIFY YOUR APPLIANCE WARRANTY, DO NOT EXPECT THIS COMPANY TO ACCEPT RESPONSIBILITY AND MAKE GOOD THEIR ERROR. He really knows his way around the Bluestar Oven. He is very pleasant, hard working and conscientious of keeping your space neat. We had him out to repair an oven knob that was actually broken by another repairman from another company that we engaged with to install an oven door. That company was so unresponsive, so unpleasant and so incompetent that we gave up on trying to get them to help with the problem that they actually caused. That's when we called in John from Appliance Service Station. If you want to save yourself a bunch of headaches, start with a competent repairman. It took three weeks to get a diagnostic appointment, and then another five weeks to get a repair appointment. When the repair man came, he didn't have the right part to fix it. When I called the office to complain, they accused me of not providing the right information, even though I DID provide that information during my initial call to the company. They only offered a 10% discount. This was right before the Thanksgiving weekend. We will not be using appliance service station again. I realize that things are hard for businesses during covid, but this was a basic administrative error that they tried to blame me for, that could have easily been fixed with a phone call prior to the appointment. I really enjoyed my experience with this company who came to take a look at my 8-10 year old washer and dryer after they both started making weird sounds. As I wasn't the original purchaser (came with my home purchase) I didn't have any info on them. Scheduling was super easy and friendly, they had appointments for me the following week and charges were less than I expected. I was quoted $124 for the visit and the first 18 minutes -- which I found absurd -- and $124/hour after that prorated. I went for it and was only charges a total of $161 for about 2 hours of time spent here. My service technician was friendly and helpful. He shop-vacc'd the washer and found a few items from pockets that made their way into the drain causing problems -- the dryer wasn't able to be diagnosed or fixed b/c of the inability to get behind it or into it (need a contractor to remove a door) so he didn't charge me for that and said it was most likely a belt or something due to old age. "Run it til it dies" he said "and then call your contractor, get the door jam off and buy a new one." Good enough for me! read more

This was a MISERABLE experience. It took several weeks before A.S.S. could send a technician. When the technician (John) originally showed up, he had not been given the make or model of my stove (which I had provided a week before). He left without performing any repairs, said he would get the needed part (several hundred dollars), and return on Friday. At the end of the day on Friday, I called because no one had shown up and I had not heard any information. I was told the part was on backorder and it would be a month before they could visit again. I called another repair company, the proprietor came out the very next day, and fixed my stove in 10 minutes without needing any parts. Then A.S.S. had the audacity to send me a bill for the technician visit (despite being a no-show for the next one and completely wasting my time). I suggest you DO NOT USE this company. read more

Though Jason the repairman was fantastic, the company told us the service was free because they has been out four monthsfor the same repair to our Fisher/Paykel dishwasher. Jason did a great job and since the service was "free" I tipped him. A week later, I received a bill for $370.00! When I called to inquire, Carol the accountant, said THEY made a mistake and refused to compromise on payment. She demanded that we pay whole amount or she would have the part removed. I offered to pay for the $200.00 part, but she was very rude and demanding. I finally suggested that she phone my husband because he set up the repair and received the quote for service. Our SubZero refrigerator stopped working after I cleaned it one day. We called another service company to take a look at it. They told me it was broken and the fact that it died while I was cleaning it was a coincidence. They gave me an estimate of $1600 to fix the problem. I called Appliance Service Station for a second opinion. Don came out to take a look. He arrived on time and was able to figure out that during my cleaning I had accidentally put the refrigerator in "showroom mode", which just means all the lights work but the refrigerator doesn't get cold. He reset the refrigerator and fixed the problem and saved me from paying another dishonest company $1600! read more

This review is only based on the service I received on the phone. Having read the reviews from the customers who gave 1-star, it sounds like most people were complaining about the service of the representative who answered the phone when called. I called this company for one of my clients (I'm not in the appliance business) just because my client mentioend that their Sub-Zero fridge was broken in the home they just bought. The lady I talked to was very kind, helpful and gave me great info to pass to my client. Easily a 5-star experience in service! It's clear they've read their Yelp reviews of late and have fixed the problem. The person on the phone went above and beyond to give me the best information even though I wasn't the one with a broken fridge. read more
