Our garage door "died" late Tuesday night; this was the original garage door in this 25 year old home we bought a year ago. The door went off the track, basically was hanging dangerously inside the garage, in turn bent the frame and track out of shape and off its moorings - basically meaning we needed to totally replace the whole thing. Early Wednesday morning I called the company that had serviced the garage doors in our old house over many years - but the best they could do was to 'maybe' send an estimator late that afternoon 'if they had a cancellation'. He immediately safely maneuvered the door that was precariously out of place, then discussed a range of options (including different grades of insulation as well as updated electric-eye and other safety features we were interested in because our kids and grandchildren often visit), and gave me an estimate which I later found out was more than fair. He managed to close the garage door opening and undertook to do the replacement/installation the next day. Thursday morning his crew arrived, ahead of schedule, removed the old track and hardware, installed the new door and opener system including new keypads inside and outside, fully explained how to operate everything - we were back in business ! Oops - one more detail: the job was complete, yet my wife was delayed in returning home - and her new car's electronics needed to be programmed to operate the opener remotely. This meant yet another trip later that day back to our house for Rob and crew - which they willingly did. And - icing on the cake - the next day my wife and I each received a call from Rob - just to check in and make sure things were working perfectly. On Christmas eve our garage door spring broke. A professional handman friend recommended Rob's Garage Door Repair. A local small business, I liked that, so I called and left a message that same day. Surprisingly, Rob returned the call that day and we set up an appointment a couple days later (it was Christmas). The day before, Rob called to clarify some particulars and I sent him some pictures of the spring. Rob arrived and within an hour replaced the single spring with a dual-spring setup. I also had him look over the door for any maintenance items a professional could spot on a 20-year-old door. We decided to upgrade the original rollers as well, again finishing in about an hour. My husband and I called Rob to see if he would be able to install a new garage door opener and install new springs. They weren't installed correctly originally and caused our garage to screech so loudly when opening and closing that you would have to cover your ears. He was able to come out at our earliest convenience, which was the next morning. He gave us a quote and we called around to price compare. First off; Rob answered the phone himself. I like that. Came out and checked our doors within the one hour window he promised. Ordered the parts we needed and installed them a day earlier than estimated. He always showed up at our convenience. Installed our two garage door seals quickly and efficiently. Then went beyond that and oiled our springs and tracks. And the price for all this was below what I expected to have to pay. Fast and excellent service. He is my garage door man now. I totally agree with the other reviews listed. Rob responds quickly and shows up when he says he will, and goes the extra mile always. I had a problem syncing my new car's electronics to my old garage door opener. When Rob couldn't get it to work, he called Jim - and they came out together and had it working in 5 minutes. My springs on my garage went unexpectedly. I called Rob and he was able to come out in less than 24hrs. He was accommodating and came after 5, when I got off work. .Rob make it clear that my garage door repair would happen within hours even though the door was a wooden 18 ft. door that needed special heavy duty springs. Jim did the work on the door, and he took time to check on whether it needed a new pull handle, added a nut to the automatic opener frame for support, re-inforced some wood with metal strips, and gave advice on the "years" left in all the equipment.
