I had received a Groupon voucher as a gift and I was excited to have my hair done by Rocco after seeing his work on Yelp, and Instagram. He was very attentive when I needed to book, and asked all the right questions when it came to the way he would be servicing my hair. I arrived at the salon on Eagle Rock and it was such a cute little place. He had a candle on for a cozy vibe, he asked if I had a music choice, and he gave me a warm lavender eye mask before my cut and style. The Groupon included a hair mask and after a quick assessment of the health of my hair, he chose the Biotin and Collagen one. The cut was done quickly (he gave me layers and curtain bangs) with him checking in on the length every so often, and he not only styled my hair so nicely, he taught me how to add a little more volume and suggested ways to style it curly at home. Rocco is an amazing colorist and stylist! My former stylist moved away and I bounced around for a couple years getting bad cuts and incorrect damaging color treatments before finding Rocco. He gets my hair and understands how particular I am about the color, which had to be corrected when I came to him. He also asks a lot of questions to make sure to give you the right cut that you can style yourself. He just started cutting my daughter's hair too. Backstory-My teenage son who had medium short hair wanted to try a shorter haircut, think Keanu Reeves 90s hair to Milo Ventimiglia mid short hair. Rocco saved my life more than once and I owe him big time. It is SO hard to find someone in this city who can get a copper red, or a "natural red" right. I've been through more stylists than I have left a yelp review for in this city- Rocco is the most trustworthy one in all of LA. I wish I could leave reviews on every salon in LA and guide them here- it took me 3 years to find anybody who was even a fraction of what Rocco is as a hair stylist. Amazing artist. Solid person. Not ripping you off. Has a literal heart. And he does make up. I came to him through a yelp review on another salon's page (ironically). He did wonders with my copper hair the first time I saw him. Revived it, matched my hometown salon's root color PERFECTLY. The second time I saw him my hair was jacked up by a totally DIFFERENT salon I went to for a root touch up- They turned his beautiful persimmon-copper red full on GRAY ASH (the HORROR) - Rather than making me feel guilty about it, Rocco took me in his chair on NO notice at all and FIXED the most horrifying root touch up of my life the day before a big shoot for me. It continues to actually look better with each wash. People actually recognize me as a redhead- I thought that ash color was beyond repair- but Rocco really worked his magic. Thank God, and thank Rocco for existing. This man is one in a MILLION- GO! you'll be SO GLAD you did. Advice: Don't see anyone else. Rocco is worth the drive from ANYWHERE in LA.
