Luka is a really good pie maker. Always funny and his customer service is near perfect . The lady that's there on occasion always is so serious and needs to lighten up. So disappointed in Rocco's been going there for years.. yesterday I ordered escarole and bean soup in chicken broth and was served something that looked like tomato soup with 3 spoonfuls of beans and escarole for 9dollars plus tip when I complained the woman behind the counter was was rude and nasty.. told me I must have had the wrong place ..and told to go somewhere else. My partner and I absolutely love Rocco's and insist on ordering anytime a pizzeria is in question. I honestly can't rave enough about their food and we love Luca and the sweetheart woman who works behind the counter. The chefs at Rocco's definitely know what's up and that's coming from downstaters who know good NY pizza. Whether its a slice (hot OR cold), a slider, a sub, a salad, or dinner, ordering from rocco's you know its going to be good and not insanely expensive. The cost per portion is so fair. We were disgusted by the poor service and terrible attitude that we received from this pizza place. We ordered 2 salads and two large pizzas and paid nearly 80.00 after tip. It's overpriced. We ordered from our hotel room and the pizza was sent over in an acceptable amount of time, but there were no napkins and no forks, so I called back and let the same rude girl know. She blamed me. She said, "Well, the customer's usually let us know if they need napkins and forks..." It was a terrible experience and this is no way to treat customers who just paid $80.00 for a meal. Please don't get your pizza from them. They ruined our dinner and they don't deserve to be patronized for this kind of rudeness. Thank you for not buying from here. i came here for the first time for lunch. they were very friendly at the counter and answered my questions without issue. I got a Italian combo cold cut and a meatball slider, i found the cold cut pretty good, they put a good amount of red wine vinegar which is rare since most place are cheap with it on the sandwich, paper thin red onions and lettuce was a nice touch, the provolone cheese tasted very fresh and a good balance of it and meat. the meatball slider was amazing, a cut in half meatball on top of fresh mozzarella and marinara sauce in a cut in half garlic knot. its simple but man it was good. i ordered a grandma slice since it looked really good, after finishing my first order. the marinara sauce was good and not drowned the slice, light on greens and a touch of pram cheese, am glad it thin crust and not a thick piece of dough like most specialty slices do. overall, i def try more in other visits to the area. read more

If the rating were on the pizza alone, it would be a 5. But don't come here expecting a pleasant attitude to go with your tasty pizza because you will not get it. I think when they interview people, one of the prerequisites must be: "Are you a sourpuss?" If so, you have a job. We've been to this place about 5 times now, and each time the pizza is excellent but the people behind the counter really need to take some lessons on being friendly and welcoming. If you don't need a nice demeanor, or a friendly attitude, then I would recommend the Grandma's pizza, you won't be disappointed with that. read more

Imagine being a business that takes customers' money, willingly, and rather than being respectful to their customers with good business ethics, decided to be distasteful, have the worst attitude as a pizza business in New Paltz, NY and decided to ignorantly yell at his customers that paid $30 for his service! I would suggest to everyone, please ...pay your hard-earned money to people who actually respects as a customer who is taking the time to pay for their service (helping staff get paid weekly and to clock in at their job!) With no customers - Rocco's pizza would be out of business! 'And oh John is making sure to make many customers as you may see in prior reviews from others throughout the years - never wanting to go back to his business at Rocco's Pizza ever again . They have bad reviews on Door Dash, Yelp, Google, and the list goes on!! What a disappointment! So since John decided he rather get bad reviews than resolve matters kindly with his customers, "thank John"... for another bad review and MANY OTHER bad reviews from others as well. I saw... and the complaints are similar to mine too -- dating back for years!!! How do they manage to be a business for so long? We have no clue. It's shameful! John who made the pizza, he claimed he was the manager, decided to not hear customer's feedback politely and rudely yelled at us on the phone and hung up on us ---disgustingly twice... for simply sharing that the pizza was undercooked(raw ham) and etc. We paid for bacon (there was NO bacon added), only Marinara sauce, smeared with dried uncooked basil, barely any Pepporoni (it's a about a 8-10 slice pizza with only 4 Pepporoni's on it...), the crust was stale, and when requested--there was no Parmesan cheese nor Mozzarella cheese. Typically when ordering a pizza, all standard pizza comes with dough, sauce, and Mozzarella cheese. Grandma pizza was supposed to come with Mozzarella cheese and we got essentially no cheese at all (no Parmesan and no Mozzarella) and to be honest not a pizza! We spent $30 for an uncooked and undone pizza! This was a terrible experience. We are so disappointed on this service, we have went to Rocco's for years - never had an issue personally and John decided to dismiss customer courtesy, customer loyalty who've always happily bought pizza from this place, and he dismissed our respect by claiming that it was not his fault - and blaming US for using Door Dash- a company that his business partnered with....to blame Door Dash - when he was the one who made the pizza! Extremely awful and with his anger that he decided to not smartly put on his innocent customers who simply was not happy with our order, he would rather be inconsiderate, unwilling to simply make another pizza for us (we would had happily accepted that), ...he figured to curse us out instead -over pizza-..(how crazy can he be?) and run his customers away permanently. I would not recommended this business to no one ever again and going forward, will let others keep that in mind. My friends and family are even SUPER concerned right now that we don't even get food poisoning tonight! Thanks to John who literally told us that he does not care how he made the pizza, blame "Door Dash", and unwilling to fix his mistake like other stable-minded business people do! Maybe he should take a business course? How to run a polite, sanitary, and freshly cooked food business 101?? We don't know! Because running a food business and making sure customers are treated respectfully and in a courteous manner? It's definitely not for John! We even have Italians in our family and they were shocked on how poor this pizza was made and this guy's nasty attitude! There was a reason why I got a refund, thankfully. He in-FACT had attitude and in-FACT a undercooked and stale pizza! John got in his feelings than be business cordial and it was a complete waste of money unfortunately. Such a shame. Was such a good eatery before owners changed. Pizza is still okay , but the food obviously comes frozen and not freshly made( my eggplant was lukewarm and freezer burnt ) tasteless soggy freezer burnt chemically laden crap. Rocco's has really great pizza. Coming from Long Island, I am a hard judge on two things; pizza and bagels. They exceeded my expectations on pizza one of the first times I had been here, and not much has changed since. I have always been a fan of Rocco's salads and sides as well including their eggplant rolls. I have never seen or had an eggplant roll anywhere else but Rocco's and they are a must try. Tuesday's are typically "pasta night" though I have not been here since they opened the restaurant side so I am not sure they still do that. When they did, you got a salad, garlic knots, and your choice of pasta dish for about 10 bucks or so. The salad was as you'd expect, but get the house balsamic dressing and you'll thank me. The garlic knots were here and there, sometimes covered in garlic and dripping oil, sometimes perfectly browned and soft. The pasta was always amazing. They had about 22 choices on the menu and I'm pretty sure I have tried atleast half. Do yourself a favor and try the pasta- any dish will do. They also serve gluten free pasta and pies which is a rarity in the area. Definitely a good local spot for some classic Italian eats. read more
