When you are the Pizza Beast you gotta do a little bit of everything. Same plaza, 2 pizzerias, so I hit both. Grabbed a Grandma slice from Pasqualle's and a White slice with basil & balsamic drizzle from Rino's, plus some garlic knots because, well, Beast's gotta eat and I was hungry. Pasqualle's: Classic feel, decent crust, but sauce was a bit flat. Solid traditional slice, nothing wild. Rino's: Crust was the star -- nice crust crunch, well-made. Sauce was loose, slightly chunky, and garlicky. White slice had great balance with the balsamic drizzle. Garlic knots from Rino's: Super garlicky in the best way. Both places were clean and roomy, prices were fair. Service was very good. Verdict: Pasqualle's is traditional and safe. Rino's brings more flavor and flair -- and wins this round. read more

We found ourselves passing through New Paltz, and Rino's was right there when we needed some lunch. We heard it was good, and we heard right, because this is a solid slice shop that also offers up plenty of other options if you're not in the mood for pizza. They also have a spacious dining area that, while barebones, is still comfortable if you don't want to take it out. For the kids, we got a couple plain slices and some chicken fingers (for the bipolar three year old who sometimes hates pizza). The chicken fingers weren't anything revolutionary, but they fried them well, just like they did the buffalo wings that my wife was craving. Those were super saucy, but nice and crisp. Reminiscent of Western New York, and that's a compliment. We were also feeling like we needed some greens in our life, so we added a chicken caesar salad. It was better than expected, and hit the spot. Overall, I think pizza is the best choice here (it's in the name after all), but they have some variety if you need more as well. I was in need of a quick dinner and saw that this spot does pizza by the slice and decided to give it a try. They have classic NY style but I went for their grandma's style crust. It's square cut, thicker than traditional NY style but not exactly Detroit style either. I'm not precisely sure what style it would be considered, That said, it was good! I got the white pie with pesto and hot honey and the blending of flavors made for a flavorful slice. Inside the restaurant is larger than it looks with plenty of tables if you'd like to dine in. That said, the atmosphere is basic pizza shop so I opted to take it to go and enjoy my slice and a movie in my hotel room. The service was fast and friendly! Get to it! read more

The meatball ricotta slice and grandma slice were great, not too much sauce and not overloaded with cheese and no burnt crust. Wish had more ricotta on the slice though since made the slice so much richer in flavor. For the Italian combo, first time I seen a place use semolina bread for sandwiches and I will say I was fan of it, different but great, it's not typical crispy loaf. Plenty of meat and definitely not an air sandwich for sure. Hah. Plus made exactly as I asked with lettuce and tomato, can't tell you how many place get your sandwiches mixed up. We live in New Paltz and this is our favorite (of many) pizza places! Conveniently located in Cherry Hill Plaza. Parking is easy because there is a free lot. Pizza is good! Many options. The people who work there are friendly and the service is fast. Nice, easy going vibe. There is a separate room if you want to eat there, but again it is a casual vibe and mainly counter service. While we were visiting family that was staying in the New Platz area, we decided to get a takeout from Rino's. This is based on a to-go order and it was a good amount of food that we got for 10 people. It took about 20 minutes for everything to be ready for pick up after calling the order in. There was antipasto, buffalo chicken wings, pasta e fagioli soup, and cheese as well as pepperoni pizza. It was enough portions for all of us and some even had seconds if they were still hungry. I hear the pizza here is great and it's the only place my fiancé will order from, but if your thinking about ordering a gluten free pizza, do yourself a favor and go to the supermarket and just buy a frozen pizza or a crust and make your own, which is what I normally do. I was feeling extra hungry and lazy today (pregnant) and was craving pizza. I don't have much experience ordering gluten-free pizzas around here because I know most places don't make their own crust and it's usually frozen and not worth it; however, I figured "why not" and "how bad can it be?" I ordered over the phone and totally didn't really each topping was $3. I wish I would have known, I would have modified my order. Second, when I opened the box to the gluten free pie, I noticed that the crust was very crumbly. I got home and cut it because it doesn't come sliced it was a huge mess. The crust completely crumbled but at the same time was undercooked. It was not edible. I wasn't going to waste a $30+ pizza, so I had to put it back in the oven which defeats the whole purpose of takeout. The crust itself is not very good and toppings were mediocre. Nothing special, especially for the price. The whole thing was super disappointing and unsatisfying. I still can't get over how much it all cost! My fiancé however, loved his regular crust chicken parm pie. read more

I wish I didn't have to write this review, but people need to know what's going on. Everyone is required to wear a mask when entering a restaurant during this unprecedented time of COVID-19. That means ALL employees as well as customers!!! Especially those working with food AND working out front where customers will be present. Having one employee in the restaurant who was putting the delivery orders together, with NO mask, shows that your business does not respect their customers. Food is really good, pizza is really good, but the lack of a mask, and the possibility of transmitting COVID-19 to a co-worker or customer, and causing illness or worse, is unacceptable. Time was Oct. 2023. Wife and I had a medium pizza timely delivered to us at the Hampton Inn in New Paltz. Toppings were: mushrooms, onions, brocolli, and raw garlic. Wife thought the bottom of the crust a bit soggy. Maybe it was, or not, but I had no complaint. Actually, overall, this was one of the best pizza' s I have had in a long, long, time, including years in NYC. Crust was thin the way it should be in my opinion, but could perhaps use a bit more flavor with salt and herbs. Toppings were beautifully done and sauce seemed homemade like. Price seemed about right. One small recommendation: brush the crust edges all 'round with good quality EVOO before baking. Overall excellent rating and highly recommended. Hit Rino's twice this week. My son, who works at a nearby resort, highly recommended this place and joined us for our first visit. To keep it plain and simple - they have great food and an terrific team of guys working there. During my two stops here, we ordered eggplant parmigiana dinner, Stromboli, several different slices of pizza, Italian wedding soup and cold antipasto. This metropolitan NY/NJ guy says, "All were primo." Prices are great. Good deal of traffic coming in and out tells you the locals are "digging it".
