Big city prices with small town quality food. Good way to waste an hour & a half of time. Service is slow(busy or not busy doesn't matter). Servers take your order, eventually brings your food out then disappears. They all hoard by the hostess station and talk to each other. Then you need a take out container. You sit and wait. Then you want your bill. You sit and wait. It's frustrating. I'm only giving 1 star because of the ambience.I wouldn't leave a review for a one time experience because that wouldn't be fair. Amazingly delicious don't let a long wait deter you, (which is a sign of a great place) enjoy the wait down in the whiskey bar which was wonderful. Everything was top notch , from the drinks, appetizers and phenomenal food. Our waitress was great and Dave's recommendations were spot on. Met some friends for dinner, first time at Rocco's for most of us, two of the group are regulars there for their date nights and I can see why! We met for drinks at the bar, I had a Jalapeño Mule, which was made with gin and it was delish (and I am not usually a fan of gin) and my spouse had the Bourbon Citrus & Spice which was also incredibly good. Service was fast and friendly all night - really great. We ordered some appetizers: Calamari, Philly pretzels, Tuna Nachos, Seared Ahi Tuna, Crispy Brussels Sprouts and then onto dinner: I had the Pork Agrodolce, my spouse the Prime Rib (Saturdays only), and others had the White Chicken ( a white version of their Chicken Parmigian) and other dishes - it was all so good! We only had room for coffee but others had the Peanut Butter pie, the Reese's brownie cheesecake, the chocolate chip lava cake and so on - again, all delicious and we will definitely be going back to Rocco's VERY soon!!! read more

Been a while since an update. Since my wife and I have moved to Hammonton, we've been able to frequent Rocco's much more than usual. We usually go once a week. The reason; great food and awesome service. As a pescatarian I love seafood. Rocco's has one of the best cooks when it comes to preparing seafood. I recently had a goat cheese encrusted salmon and a sesame seed encrusted halibut. Both were prepared perfectly. The fish is never dry and always tasty. The service is always great. Their liquor and beer selection is always great and they serve and awesome espresso martini. read more

Rocco's is a staple of Hammonton. I'd have to say it's one of those places that's a complete hit or a miss. I'm sure if you go for anything strictly Italian it's great, but i cannot have pasta so i go for other dishes & they're not always that good or tasteful. The drinks are good for the most part. I play it safe and get the sangria. The sangria is amazing. It can get pretty busy, but the service usually stays the same. I like the relaxed kind of atmosphere it brings but also the old Italian grandparents house type of vibe too. I'm not sure how to explain it. If you're heading in on a weekend, get there early for sure! Very popular spot for locals. read more

My sister and I went down to the super cool whiskey bar in the basement. It almost felt like a private club. Ambiance was great and an awesome selection of whiskey (also a full bar for those non-whisky drinkers). Food menu was limited but perfect for bar snacking. I absolutely loved their fried calamari (watch out for those spicy peppers) and we also shared the warm pretzel. Service was great! Staff was friendly and engaging. Looking forward to bringing our dad today to check out this cool spot! They had live music, a one man band, and for a Saturday night, I'd expect a tad better of a performer, but hey, music is music, lol. Oh! We stopped at Rocco's to grab a bite. We selected the meatball parm sandwich (according to Jewel our server, they are made by the owner's mother), prime rib dip sandwich and the 8 ounce cheeseburger. The food exceeded our expectations. Our server Jewel was fantastic. The owner's wife, hearing it was our first visit, stopped by our table several times to be sure we were happy with the service and food. The tables had more than enough spacing so you didn't feel crowded. The place had a home town feel. Before leaving, we visited Rock Bottom Whisker Bar, a speakeasy located downstairs that features live music. We will definitely return to Rocco's and appreciated the staff treating us like family. read more

Nothing special atmosphere-wise inside. The Whiskey Bottom bar downstairs is pretty cool in a creepy, eclectic basement kind of way. I came here after work with coworkers for happy hour. I split the Red Rooster Fries and peanut butter pie with another coworker. The portions are very generous. The fries had melted liquified cheese at the bottom of the plate, but over time the cheese became more creamy- doesn't sound appetizing but it is delicious!! There is hot sauce drizzled on top of the French fries. It has the perfect kick to it and a subtle sweetness. The peanut butter pie was amazing, I wanted to keep the slice for myself haha. It is a light fluffy mousse. Tastes almost like peanut butter brittle ice cream but better! The crust of the pie, I believe was made with crushed Oreos. I also ordered a seasonal white sangria. Stopped in on the way home from vacation to feed our tired and hungry family. The entire staff was welcoming and super nice. Everything came out quickly and was delicious. The waitress was attentive and checked in often as well as I believe the manager who stopped by to greet us and make sure we were enjoying ourselves. Nice atmosphere all around. Total bar scene. Atmosphere: You wouldn't realize it's here unless you're a local, but it's got a cool retro theme outside. Inside is your typical run of the mill bar scene. High tops and tables also available. Very spacious. Service: Friendly, and the type that seems to know everyone. Food: Decent. The apps are the way to go, the fried mozzarella was good and unique in the way they do it! Definitely more of a place to enjoy drinks, live music and then nibble along the way. We came here after seeing Season's Greetings. As many times as I have been to Hammonton, I have never stopped in this place. The outside looks like a bar, but the inside has some booths against the wall and table seating. I am sure glad we decided to give it a try tonight. I was with my daughter and my friend. We both had Carmen's Mussels. Wow! The amount of lump crab meat mixed with mussels for $13.95 was unbelievable. My daughter had the children's mac and cheese. The mussels came with two nice pieces of garlic bread. The menu had some great dinner options which I would love to check out on a return visit. I am looking forward to returning with my friend so that we can check out the whiskey bar with live music downstairs. read more
