Consider this: you have to go once to see what it's all about; you have to go a second time to see if you like it or not! I really don't know what to say or even think about this place and the experience we had here recently. I will report the facts based solely on what happened at Rodio's, when we went there for the first time on Sunday, March 23, 2025. The rest is up to you! The owner/operator: the backbone of the business and reason we will go back a second time; cook/server/entertainer - all in one; a bit eccentric but extremely kind and personable - you're going to love her! A great big smile, sociable, and hospitable. Walk in the front door - boom, the counter is right there. There was another room off to the side but we never made it there because there were two stools available at the counter so we sat, looked around, and waited - we weren't sure what would happen next! It was busy and more people came in - we learned there were guests eating in that other room, so clearly the available seating is not just at the counter. Menu: no, you don't get one. Read the wall to see what's being offered to you. Prices: no clue - they aren't listed anywhere. While we were there, everyone was charged $15.00 per meal. I don't know what they ordered or got to drink. We had a breakfast platter and a coffee. You guessed it: $15.00. Ambiance: you are literally walking into someone's home and having a meal with them in their house. Cozy and friendly. Not for everyone, I suppose. Oh, sorry, I am trying not to editorialize! Dishes: paper plates, paper cups, plasticware. What! Toast: your meal comes with toast - okay! Guess what? You are getting 3 half-pieces of toast. Huh??? What even is that? LOL Eggs: you cannot get over-easy eggs. They will be cooked over-medium at the minimum. Go ahead, ask for over-easy... Food: FABULOUS! We had 2 eggs, scrapple cubes, breakfast potatoes, and toast. Everything was so good, seasoned well, and hot and fresh. The owner/operator/cook nailed it! She seems to excel at making fresh fruit pancakes and is known for her French toast. She gave us a small sample while we were waiting. It was good! So in conclusion: yes, you need to go here to see what's going on and yes, we will be back for another visit as soon as possible! read more

The owner is also the chef - she's very friendly and she makes dining there feel like you're visiting a close relative. The place is no frills, but has insanely delicious pancakes. The last two times that I was there only one person working. She was hostess, waitress, cook and cashier. So of course food took forever and getting a second cup of coffee was not happening. They no longer had the specials they once had. I won't be going back. It's ridiculous to think that one person can do that and satisfy customers. read more

I love eating at Rodio's Kitchen. The food is consistently fresh and delicious, and the staff is beyond friendly. Today we had blueberry pancakes with a side of hot Italian sausage and an omelette with bacon, provolone, spinach and tomato with home-fries. When we mentioned that we were splitting the breakfast our waitress had it split in the kitchen saving us the trouble of doing it at the table. Can't pass this place up! My husband and I stopped for breakfast on our way home from AC. Amazing food for a good price in addition to a laid back and friendly environment! The owner, Michelle, made us a sampler with French toast, pancakes, bacon and scrapple. My husband and I both learned that we can like scrapple, but only from Rodio's! Everything was amazing - the blueberry pancakes were to die for, the eggs benedict was not at all typical and so delicious, and we both agreed they were the best home fries we have ever had! Rodio's is homestyle , like when you go home for thanksgiving dinner, and mom hasn't thawed out the turkey yet. To be fair we arrived at 8:30 right behind the staff. we were informed that it would be awhile because the grill wasn't on yet. while waiting with the other patrons, we were moved in order to make room for more hopeful breakfast recipients. 1/2 hour later we got our orders. everything was good and we enjoyed our meal. pancakes are a standout, just be prepared for a possible wait- it's a two person staff and they do their best. every breakfast is $10 including coffee. read more

First time here and was very happy all around. The food tasted fresh and had great flavor. Cream chipped beef can be pretty bland at a lot of places but tasted great here. As others have said the home fries are awesome...seasoned well and perfectly crispy. I love that the scrapple was served in cubes, never saw that before but it literally made every bite crispy and awesome. Wife loved the biscuits and gravy and our friend was happy with her French toast. Small on the inside so seating is limited but we got a table relatively quickly. The owner Michelle is sweet and super friendly. No credit cards - cash or venmo only but I appreciated venmo being an option. Owner told us her chef has been with her 20 years and the food tasted so good I believe it. Can't wait to try this place again. Diner food done right. Only lost one star because the owner seemed like she could've used another person on shift to help her out and speed things along. But I will say - the food was worth the wait. read more

We've been stopping in at Rodio's for several years now and there's always a tasty breakfast. Delish & fresh! It's just a good down to earth place, a quaint country spot complete with paper plates & plastic utensils. This time, I tried the scrapple which although delicious was not as I expected. It was presented as tiny crispy cubes, but I prefer the scrapple "slab". I ordered my eggs over hard, with the yolk intact but was told it was to be "medium"...received it as suggested, over medium which gave me runny yolks...I don't like runny yolks so I gave my hubby an extra serving of eggs to his delight. Hubby enjoyed his classic bacon/eggs dish. We were given yummy blueberry preserves in a jar, no spoon to dish out. What made our visit memorable and worthy of this rating was Michelle's welcoming personality and graciousness as she added her delicious apple cinnamon pancake into the mix! The spinach, onion and cheese omelette is so good, the spinach is seasoned and sautéed prior to adding to omelette. Very flavorful. The cubed scrapple is crispy and not greasy. The home fries are crispy and perfectly seasoned. The pancakes are HUGE!!!! And so fluffy ... did I mention they are HUGE? The Italian French toast is also delicious. I used to love this place. Since the pandemic it's gone downhill. They have or had shower curtains separating the tables. Beverages were served in styrofoam cups and everything was disposable. This would have been acceptable, but the service wasn't the best (def wasn't Kim) and they charge a bit more to use credit card. The owners also seem to get irritable when busy. I remember calling once for take out and the literally turned us away. They said (almost mad) that it would be "over an hour". I told them we didnt mind waiting. We are 5 min away just to let us know when ready. And they huffed saying that they couldn't even guarantee an hour might be longer. I felt like we were being an imposition so, we went to Andy's for breakfast take out. The pancakes used to be the bomb!! But again, something here has changed... I don't know... what drew me to this place was it was so small and homely. The menus were written on the walls!! Loved that! Sad I don't or won't frequent here much more anymore. We tried to have breakfast at this highly rated restaurant, but when we walked in, it was packed and the owner looked at us like we were annoying her. We told the waitress we wanted to sit outside and eat since there was no space inside, and she said ok, but the owner immediately interjected "But it's going to be a minute." We said fine. She kept repeating that we would have to wait for our food. We said fine. Then my husband noticed the cash-only sign and asked about it. The young server said they take cash or venmo. Venmo does not work with our bank, never has, but we thought we would try adding a new account to it. We ordered a coffee and got some plastic silverware, and the owner again acted like we were annoying her as she told us we cannot stand in the way and that we would have to wait for our food. There is literally nowhere to stand in this place as you think about what you want to order. The restaurant is just a diner counter as soon as you walk in, and a small dining room next to it, which was completely full. We then asked for a menu and she said there was none and we just needed to read the menu items on the blackboards (how, if we were not allowed to stand there and look at them?) We took the coffee and went outside, having never read the menu since we weren't allowed to stand there. We tried to set up venmo with a different bank account after we went outside, but it did not work. So we went back inside, gave back the coffee and silverware, and left. What a terrible establishment. How do they expect people to just have their menu memorized, to order without bothering anyone, to always have cash or Venmo, which is not a reliable method of payment for many people...outrageous. If you look at my other reviews, you will see that I give tons of 5-star reviews and am not hard to please, but rude service is unacceptable. read more

Wow what a gem. From the cordial host to the food made with love. So you drive up on a roadside building with a grave lot and expect little. Well you walk in to a warm lunch counter and small dining room. The hostess seemed to know mostly everyone coming in and knew of you were new. She made us super welcome and bought us out a sample apple pancake that was a bit of what was ahead. No printed menu was offers but there were the offerings on chalk on bulbs on the wall. Cute touch. You could tell that they were reaching to make the place feel homey That's what I want from a breakfast brunch place. The offerings also seemed to be fresh from the description. We had the Oreo pancakes which were just what you d expect. My 10 yr old adored them. My creamed chipset beef was a righteous example of this South Jersey staple. Over a fresh crumbly biscuit was a nice touch. And not over salty which happens mostly. The Mrs had a really great farm omelette Good bacon. Yummy home made sliced Italian style sausage. Good coffee. This place has been right down the street from me my whole life, and this was the first time stopping in. It's a small and homey place, but you know it's good when there's always cars there. My buddy and I decided to finally stop in a give it a shot. We were immediately greeted by a friendly and quirky woman who throughout our time there sparked conversations and immediately made us feel like we were regulars. The specials and menu are written all over the walls of the room in neon chalk over spots of chalkboard paint. The prices were phenomenal. We both went with the cream chipped beef and home fries, and accepted the biscuit for toast substitution without hesitation when offered. The food came out quick.... and WOW. The home fries were perfectly seasoned and crisp. I've had plenty of "good" home fries after drowning them in salt due to an underwhelming flavor... but these were amazing. Salt, pepper, herbs, and possibly a light amount of Parmesan cheese sprinkled on top? It's hard to pinpoint exactly, but whatever it was it worked. The cream chipped beef over biscuits were another pleasure for my palate. Not too thick, not too thin. The chipped beef was tender and generous. The sauce was slightly sweet, but not overbearing. Needless to say, my plate was empty before my glass of water or cup of coffee. I may have found a new breakfast spot. I can't wait to go back and try their lunch. This place used to be good. We stopped in for breakfast this morning. It was freezing inside the restaurant. We ordered eggs Benedict, which weren't soft boiled. My fried eggs were ok, potatoes were ok. The grilled cheese was bland. The cole slaw looked really old. The two waitresses were arguing witch each other constantly. Our food got cold really fast. It got really busy with people waiting for seats but it took a long time to get our check. We didn't realize but we were over charged $10. We won't return to Rodio's ever again. Oh and the ferrule cats and trash all around the side and rear of the restaurant was disgusting. It is very hard for me to leave a bad review..... read more

Great spot! Grew up walking distance from this place and finally made it here at 30 years old. Came today for breakfast. It was great. Everything you would expect from a dive breakfast & brunch spot. Very quick food, very good service. Had pork roll omelet with home fries and my wife had French toast. The French toast was huge, she'll get a short stack next time. It was good but could've been cooked a little more. Side of bacon was crispy as requested. My omelet was very good. I liked seasoned home fries, my wife thought they could have been crispier. We were a large party heading back home on Memorial Day weekend and came across this slightly run down looking restaurant with lots of cars out front, so decided to give it a try. First off, I cannot really comment on the service because they told us upfront that they were caught off-guard with the stream of people coming in all morning. They were expecting to open for a light breakfast service then close up for the day. I am glad they did not. :-) The top items our party of 8 ordered: Philly cheesesteak omelet, the sweet potato chips, the club, biscuits and gravy and the eggs Benedict were all really good. The flounder sandwich was ok. The fish was a bit fishy tasting but the bread was good. The owners were very nice and accommodating. Not as fabulous as reviewed. Stop in on Saturday morning place was jammed so description "good for groups" totally inaccurate. Wait staff we had was not so attentive but rather spent more time talking up full conversations rather than keeping customers satisfied. The owner stood between the 2 separate rooms like a human roadblock even though he could have been more useful busing tables. Food was mediocre no regular sausage just Italian (who eats Italian sausage with pancakes?). News flash...that sausage is for pasta, subs lasagna.
