I've gone to this restaurant a few times and usually very good food and service pretty good also. This last time, however...I had a $50.00 Visa gift card from TD bank that I wanted to use. We were told by the server that they don't take those. OK. That is a bit ridiculous and so I questioned why and then another server came over and said, no, they don't take those because something is wrong with their 'system' when running those cards. I was annoyed and I think, 1. If they knew these gift cards are a problem, there should be a sign posted that they don't take the cards. 2. If they knew the gift cards don't work, and it sounded like this is a recurring problem, why doesn't anyone want to fix it? (This comes across as lazy and not caring about your customers IMHO)... Super friendly on the phone when I asked about parking and yes they do after 4pm at the bank parking lot. They didn't disappoint with their service inside either. Our waitress was very good. It had the perfect neighborhood bar vibe we were hoping for. Between 4-6 is the sunset special for 2 for $26. It seems like a great deal since their entrees are around $15.00 and over. They have a great kids' menu with the obvious hamburgers and chicken nuggets. However, they also included there famous crab cakes, shrimp tempura, chicken parm with spaghetti, and meatball sub on the menu. They have a good beer selection with around 11 on tap. Hubby had 2, a Brooklyn Ale and a Guinness. We had the burgers and crab cake sandwich. Everything was very good, but the bacon was divine. It was especially tasty. The French fries with the crab cake sandwich were a bit too salty with the Old Bay seasoning. Topping it off with the carrot cake was a good call since it was good and my 4 year old could have eaten the entire gigantic piece. After we found Rocco's Townhouse last month, we've come back twice which is saying a lot considering it's a bit of a hike from my house. From our dining experiences Rocco's seem to pride themselves on authentic, fresh, local fare. There is a huge chalkboard updated with local farm ingredients that they use in their dishes. The wait staff was very friendly although a bit slow at times. This past week when we were there we waited over 15 mins for our waitress to come ring our credit card after she gave us the check. We weren't in a rush and she did have a big party of 10 she was attending to all by herself, but 15 minutes did seem quite long. Most of the dishes at Rocco's start as traditional and then the chef adds a bit of flair. For example, the other day I ordered mussels with crabmeat in a garlic lemon red pepper white sauce. The addition of crabmeat was phenomenal. The rooster fries (original recipe cheese sauce and Sriracha sauce) were suggested by our server and my only regret was that I didn't order them every time since my first visit! The children's menu has very reasonable prices and actually includes a drink (something, if you know me is a must for a kids menu!). The menu is very diverse with everything from homemade chips, eggplant parm, cheesesteaks, calamari, and a huge burger selection which I am going to hit up on my next visit. My fiance and I decided to try this place out since we heard about how good this place was when we were here for Fringe Fest. The restaurant inside has a very dive bar/neighborhood feel to it. I always dig places with that homey atmosphere. The place is very spacious with a good amount of tables and booths there. They also have a great list beer list of local and national craft brews. It was kind of unexpected for a place like this. We decided to order some food, and the menu had a decent array of food from burgers to pasta dishes. We decided to split an order of Bang Bang calamari as our appetizer. I loved the sweet chili sauce with it's sweet and spicy kick. I decided to get the Parmesan crusted chicken as my entree, and it was really good. The lemon sauce had great acidity and was a bit creamy. There was also a good amount of chicken in there as well. I was meeting my parents somewhere between Philly and AC to meet up for a Father's day dinner. After sifting through Yelp reviews I came across Roccos, which seems to have a little something for everyone (which is always good when you're eating out with your family), and looked nice enough. When we parked outside and walked over, we got concerned. From the outside, it almost looked like it wasn't even open. But then we walked inside and glad we did. It pretty much looks like an up-scale bar. We got sat in a nice side room, next to a window overlooking a nice little garden. Our waitress was very attentive, coming over at all the right times to check on us. Food selection was also like up-scale bar food. A little something for everyone, not too many healthy options though. So I went with super un-healthy, white chicken parm. Something you don't see on a menu every day. It tasted pretty much exactly what you'd expect it to. My parents got a fish, definitely the healthier option. They seemed to enjoy that. Everyone that worked in the restaurant was really nice, while I was waiting in line for a bathroom, some very busy looking waitress even stopped to show me that there was another bathroom. Hidden gem in downtown Hammonton. Coming home from Egg Harbor City, stopped in town to grab a bite. I had read some reviews previously about Roccos, so we thought we'd give it a try. Not much to look at on the outside, but inside was welcoming and really nice. Large bar area for those who drink. We were seated promptly and drink orders were taken. Our waitress was friendly and attentive, although a bit slow. Me: white chicken parmigiana with asparagus, instead of linguine. House salad (loved the poppy seed dressing!) Her: chicken parmigiana, rigatoni and sauce on the side. House salad and bread. Food was hot and really, really good. Chicken tender and breading was delicious. A real delight. Not good at all. This place is ridiculously overpriced and expensive. The bathrooms here stink and are not clean. Let's start with the positives, if there is any. The bread that I got for my chicken sandwich was good, but I can't help but think they brought the bread in from somewhere else. Service was friendly, but shit...we head south to Liberty City, Fl in an instant. Chicken was lukewarm and I think it may have been microwaved. Salad was stale, with horrible ranch dressing that seemed frozen. Fries were soggy. Although this place was highly recommended, I'm not all that excited about it. For starters, the atmosphere is basically dive bar. It's dark, and gives the feeling of not being very clean. The food was ordinary, both from the specials menu and the regular menu. Lots of beers to choose from. The service was a bit overly attentive, and certainly very rushed. News Year Eve, early dinner crowd. 33.00for a filet mignon, with the tiniest scoop of mashed potatoes I have ever seen. Not complaining about the price, but they could have sent out a house salad with it. The menu didn't say anything about a Demi glaze. Was really looking forward to a delicious dinner. Wiping the glaze off the filet isn't my idea of fun. Wish they would have mentioned it on the very limited menu. Why would anyone cover up a great cut of meat like that? This place has gone through so many facelifts since having opened, it's unreal. Rocco's is a great place to get a drink with friends in the Hammonton area. Actually, it's probably the best choice in Hammonton, as the other much-frequented bar in town is a dive (not in a good way.) The food has improved vastly and there are lots of different options to satisfy everyone's tastes. The ahi tuna appetizer is rock solid. Rare sesame-crusted tuna, sliced and drizzled with a wasabi cream sauce, serviced with a side of soy sauce and scallions, and of course wasabi and pickled ginger. Sooooo good. Rooster fries are also very popular here, though I've never had them. I'd say the rooster fries and the ahi tuna are the two most popular dishes on the menu. It's a great atmosphere in here; very spacious with serveral flat-screen TVs. My only complaint is that the bartenders can be downright rude. On a recent visit here, I asked for my check about 15 minutes before I needed to be out the door. I was seated at the bar, and when I asked the bartender to cash out, I was at first told to "wait, because she was busy." After 15 minutes of me staring her down and her blatantly ignoring me to flirt with every male customer at the bar, including the two friends I was with, I started tapping my credit card loudly on the bar until the OTHER, male, bartender offered to run my check. As previous reviewers said, do not judge by the outside. It is so not a dive bar. Its not bar food menu. We had sautéed sprouts, pumpkin gnocchi, and the pork chop dinner on special. Everything was delicious! Especially the chop. Local beers on tap and a specialty drink menu. I tried a grapefruit drink made with spicy gin. My husband had two local IPAs he said were very good. We live about 30 minutes away and would drive back in a second. Cute town and very busy!! read more

We come here for dinner pretty often. The food is sooo good (make sure you get the chips) and they have a good selection or beers/drinks as well. There are too many good entrees to list, but you won't be disappointed no matter what you chose. The only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is because at times, the service can be a bit slow. Also, every time we order takeout they say 20 mins and then we'll get there and wait for 20 more. However, the food really is worth the slight inconvenience at times. read more

Consistently good, fresh food. It's wonderful when you have servers as good as theirs. My husband and I go in for dinner and automatically our regular server Tracey knows our drink orders, knows what to bring me and what NOT to bring me. That Ahi Tuna appetizer is delicious, as is the calamari! The chicken mac and cheese will send your tasete buds in so many different directions, the filet with LUMP crabmeat and provolone is a tried and true staple, not to mention the bar serves drinks the way they are MEANT to be served, nothing watered down here. The home made potato chips are a must. The calamari is second to none. Carmen's Mussels are a real treat! As one reviewer stated, this place has seen more than it's share of reinvention. So my family raved about this place.I was like OK i'll give it a go . Met them there for dinner . I got there early so i got to chat with Beth the Bartender / Owner she was awesome ,down to earth and didn't miss a beat . They have a bunch of craft beers on tap and the specials are amazing . The menu was looked great i would say upscale pub food with great prices . We ordered a bunch of apps the Asian wings, Rooster Fries (which get their name from the sriracha sauce that's on them)but the best is the Cheese sauce. Bang Bang Calamari was good . We also got a Gorgonzola Burger lets just say perfect it came with a slab of Gorgonzola (awesome ),lettuce and tomato and a side sweet potato fries simple and delicious . The Mussels fra diablo their signature dish is amazing as well .Its just under a pound mussels in a spicy fra diablo broth served with 2 pieces of garlic bread . All in All the place is great .
