That's always a good sign. We ordered the A1 Satay (half chicken, half beef), the Chicken Pad Thai, and one of their house specials the Three Karat (crispy chicken in a tamarind and red wine sauce). Every dish was packed with flavor and clearly made with care. The Thai iced tea with cream was also spot on not too sweet, just right. The staff was friendly and attentive the entire time. This place is a hidden gem! After the Thai restaurant close to our place raised prices and had their quality go down, we were looking for a new go-to Thai place, and we don't even mind driving 20 minutes to come here! The food is always delicious. The prices are so reasonable. The service is always friendly, too. Although the interior usually feels quiet, there's always someone dining in, and people are coming by all the time for pick-up orders. My favorite dish is the massaman curry with tofu. It's sweet and savory, and when I ask for it not to be spicy, it's not spicy at all. I have tried the red curry and the pad see ew - both of which were very good. I like the peanut sauce on the salad, which is fresh with mild flavor. I also usually have the tea, which comes in a cool teapot. Although I'm not normally a big fan of jasmine tea, I do really like theirs. I have come here with friends and with my husband, and everyone has loved it. There's always plenty of parking close by. Come with me to Rock A Bangkok, located in Kendall. My sister and I wanted to try something different for dinner, and we noticed Rock A Bangkok a while back since it is next to our go-to Indian restaurant. Small and charming with a homey feeling, you're greeted as soon as you walk in and shown where to sit. Their menu has a wide variety, and for the first time in a while, I went in "blind" without looking at the menu beforehand. We started with the Fried Wontons. They were perfectly crisp and nicely filled. We ordered a few dishes that caught our attention. They serve everything in a sharing style, with a lot of food. We went with the Chicken Fried Rice. At first, I thought the chicken looked interesting, but this is going on my list of the best-fried rice I've ever tried. The Fried Rice was flavorful, and the chicken had great texture. We also ordered Pad Thai with pork. This was my first time trying Pad Thai. It has a great flavor, and the texture is not as slimy as it looks. We also tried their dish called Three Karat, which is deep-fried chicken cooked in a tamarind red wine sauce; the chicken was very crispy and had good flavor, sweet and tangy. The Three Karat Chicken comes with white rice, which they are generous with the portion. For dessert, we had Thai Doughnuts. I've had these before, but theirs were excellent, thick and fluffy, and great for sharing (if you want to ). Overall, I loved Rock A Bangkok. I'm glad we tried something new and tried new dishes. I visited Rock A Bangkok and to be honest, I just simply was not wowed. It is a nice place with a pleasant vibe to it, but sadly neither the food or the service were as outstanding as what I read in reviews before coming. Perhaps it was because the expectations were so high, but the meal was just very average. I ordered the Masman chicken and found the flavor somewhat bland and the chicken was rubbery. The pad Thai looked beautiful and had a wonderful aroma, but upon tasting it, it was overly sweet and the noodles were overcooked. And the Tom Yum Goong took "tangy" to an extreme that I found it inedible. But here's the thing. I read all the other reviews and people had the same dishes with completely different impressions. I am left wondering if I was there on an off day and must admit that despite the very average meal I am tempted to try it again. I cannot recommend it based on my one experience, but I'm willing to concede that this may have been an atypical experience based upon the reviews of others. So I will be watching for others who review it and considering a return visit. read more

A hidden gem with great Thai food in Kendall. Came here with my partner as he was raving about this spot that he grew up with. You can find it situated in a strip plaza but going inside really transports you to a cozy atmosphere filled with cute Thai decor and friendly staff. It's on the intimate side with a good amount of seating. Everyone that was here seemed to be somewhat regulars and it wasn't terribly busy as we came when they opened on Sunday for lunch. The staff was super friendly and attentive. We got the Tom Kha Ga (my go-to at Thai restaurants now), a side of brown rice, the duck curry, and Thai tea. The duck curry is my partner's absolute favorite and it lived up to the hype. It was crispy and the curry was really good. It comes with rice that they serve to you and replenish if you'd like more. The Tom Kha soup was also good but definitely prefer the duck curry more. I'm curious to try more things off of their menu next visit. A great spot for Thai food in Kendall! read more

The crispy duck Thai curry is busssinnnn (very good)! I been coming here for lunch for a while now and the staff is friendly and the service is quick! The decor inside is a bit old fashioned but that's what makes it feel authentic. They can seat about 20 people inside it's pretty small but it's never been too busy when I go for lunch and have always been seated immediately. Parking has never been an issue for me either. Cute lil find in Kendall (it is also located next door to urban Rrasoi an Indian restaurant that I like and have also done a review on as well). Its decorated very cute and is a mom and pop establishment, you really do feel like you are in someone's home. This establishment opened over 20 years ago by Thai immigrants. Service was sweet and friendly and personable. The prices are also reasonable. We tried three dishes and they all were very pleasant. We had the red Thai curry with chicken, which was our favourite dish. We tried their house specialty - which was an interesting chicken dish, and we enjoyed that too. This place is very "mom and pop", they've been around for a while! The menu options offer a wide range of traditional Thai food that doesn't disappoint. I believe there's seating inside as well as outside, we sat inside where there's bench seating along the walls that are decorated with tapestries and Asian art, very cool! This place certainly has history! My only constructive feedback would be to update some of the art/decorations and lighten up the space to make it feel less stuffy and outdated. This is by far my favorite Thai spot in Miami. You cannot go wrong with anything on the menu. My personal favorite is the Red curry and chicken pad Thai but the garlic chicken, ginger shrimp and cashew nut chicken are great as well. And let's talk about the price... the lunch menu is $8.99 and it comes with soup or salad AND a spring roll. Even dinner is affordable. I have been coming back to this place for years because it's that good. I have been to Thailand and this whole in the wall is so similar to the Pad Thai I had in Thailand. LI gave this place a high rating a few years ago and guess that Yelp must have reset reviews since it changed owners a couple years ago. A little gem in the wall I must say. The ambiance is nice calm cozy in Thai decor. The food is authentically fresh and delicious. When the rice is even fresh you know it's a great spot. We enjoyed their fried dumplings, chicken skewers which come with freshly peanut sauce & cucumber sauce, Thai tea which I love, yellow curry with shrimp the shrimp do not disappoint (yellow curry is a bit spicy), Masaman with chicken, cashew & avocado(is a sweet curry). This dishes comes with fresh white rice. Couldn't skip on those Thai donuts so delicious yummy with condense milk and swirl of chocolate. We ordered through Uber eats which their delivery time was very accurate. I was impressed but the food itself here is nothing to rave about. Visited Rock A Bangkok on a beautiful Miami Thursday evening. I loved the quaintness of the space and how lovely the couple that tended to us was. The restaurant is clean and the environment very relaxed and casual. The 3 starts are mainly for the atmosphere. I was not at all impressed by their food. We started with the Jumping Shrimp appetizer and I did not like it at all. I ordered the Tom Ka Gai soup and although not bad, it want good either, the coconut broth was off balance. The biggest disappointment of the evening was the main course. I had read some reviews recommending the red curry and since I really enjoy red curry, ordered the duck red curry. I must say that in my humble opinion this was not even close to red curry, at least none I've ever tried before. The sauce had zero spicy taste and sort of sweet, I did not enjoy my dinner. Please order the Three Karat Chicken! It's their house special chicken cooked in a tamarind sauce. Perfectly sweet and crispy. They are usually closed Monday's but they were open for Valentine's Day 2022. I ordered to-go and they mixed up my spring rolls for summer rolls. Not bad but definitely not my yummy fried spring rolls that I wanted. Thai donuts to-go are also not as great as when they're perfectly hot and crispy while dining in. Go for the lunch special before 3pm which includes soup/salad, rice, spring roll, and entree. They are also now closed for a 1 hour break between 4pm and 5pm everyday. Our party of 4 opted for the drunken noodles, the lunch curry special, the fired rice, and they even let us do a apad see ew lunch special (even though it was not listed on the menu). Lunch special also comes with a spring roll and either a soup or salad. For less than $10 a plate, this is truly a steal. The flavors were A-OK in my opinion, though I do think the dishes could use a little kick. Service was friendly. The restaurant has limited inside seating, but is very takeout friendly.
