I would've gone 2 stars but the regular burger once i added aoiloi sauce was pretty good. Parking can be tough trying to find a meter on at 6pm on a Friday. I got lucky with one on the corner but my friend had to park blocks down. Now i don't want to say she was being rude for the sake of it. It could be cause she's the only bartender handling a whole restaurant with no help and getting frustrated. One one occasion ordering with 2 other people who got food and drinks i said oh no drinks for me. And she took that as no food and started going to take someone else's order until i said hey i want food and she acted like i was holding her up from taking the other persons order telling them to be patient as if she needs to get over there. Never got my glass of water she was supposed to bring until i went back to the bar and paid for bottled water. Anytime i went to the bar i felt like i was burdening her lol. When i went back to order a burger after only ordering a salad prior i could only hope she wasn't mad that i was back up there. Karaoke on Thursdays happen here. A pool table. First time here and it's so close to home, I'm glad that my experience was so pleasant! I asked the bartender what can he make with bourbon and made me this delicious strawberry margarita! It was soooo good! Also ordered the smash burger and Cesar salad, they were both satisfying and tasty; I will definitely be back. Visited the Dark Horse Tavern on Saturday night with a friend to support her DJ friends who were hosting House music! Parking was street parking which could be limiting depending on what time you go, but I found parking easily around 930pm not too far from the entrance. The tavern is large and spacious with the bar room and then the music/dance room, plenty of space to mingle and to move around. At the bar I ordered a Pineapple infused vodka cocktail special and wow, it tasted so good like fruit punch! It was ok this time around, the bartenders are not consistent when it comes to making their specialty cocktails. This time around my old fashion was filled to the midline (if even so, large ice cube took most of the cup space) I have photos to prove it. Then a small fight broke out but was resolved rather quickly although it left bad taste in my mouth and I left shortly after. Ok I'm starting with.... This place is deceiving! It's not in the best area and during the day it looks trashy from the outside but I was curious. My co worker had a long drive back home so I offered we go get a drink to waste time and not sit in traffic on a Friday night. We walked over from where we work and I was pleasantly surprised when we walked in. They were playing great music, they have a pool table and they open up the front so you can see the interior of the bar from the sidewalk. The bartender knows how to make drinks!!! They were good. We ordered tater tots and the dipping sauces that came with it one being ketchup and the other one I am not sure what it was but it was great. I'm impressed with the bartender, there was a group of 7 people and they were getting hammered! LOL They had just done a round of shots and they were drinking something else. It's unfortunate that one bad apple can spoil the bunch. I'd like to begin by saying that I've been a patron of this establishment for 20 years when it was previously known as "The Little Rock". This place was the place to be at on a Wednesday night. The line would almost wrap around the block to go in. There were so many good times and fun memories that were had. I remember how kind and thoughtful Stacy was (a bartender) was. She would always remember my drink order no matter how much time had passed. About 10 years ago there was a rebrand and the place became more of a low key gastro pub which is fine. I'd like to say that some of the exceptional staff to look for are Mike and Mick who are the doormen/security. They do an amazing job at greeting and keeping everyone safe. Mike also does a fabulous job at hosting karaoke night. His song selection always gets one in the mood to sing All the bartenders currently are hospitable with the exception of Courtney (the blonde older lady).It's unfortunate that she rarely smiles or behaves like she wishes she were anywhere else but there. After receiving my drink order she usually walks away and rolls her eyes. On one occasion she threw out my drink when I went to us the bathroom which I had just finished ordering) and when I replaced it she threw out that one too. I asked her about it and she rolled her eyes and walked away. She did replace one drink but never apologized or responded with anything other than a bad attitude. Mind you there were only about five other patrons in the bar at the time. Courtney had just sold me those drinks and knew they were mine. I've always felt an unfriendly vibe from her but was still always polite to her. The vibe would be sooooo much better if this bad apple's attitude would change. read more

I love this bar. No matter what day of the week it is, this place always provides a pleasant and fun atmosphere, especially because of the wonderful and friendly service provided by Stace, Mike, Jenn and Brent. They make the BEST drinks! It's as if they have eyes in the back of their head. They immediately notice when you're running low on your beverage and either give a refill or ask if you want another, depending on what you're drinking. Always has a good crowd here. They play great music. Karaoke night is one of my favorite. Now let's talk about the food. Who knew bar food would be so tasty. Chavez's food is consistently good. I always order the Cesar salad which always has the perfect amount of creamy dressing, which they toss for you. The honey bbq and Parmesan garlic wings are delicious. I really enjoyed this bar. My friends and I decided to check it out on a whim. Parking was easy - we just parked in the lot across the street. We ordered the giant Moscow Mule which was absolutely hilarious. It serves 12 people and will set you back $65 if I recall correctly. You have to put a deposit down on the copper mug. After drinking significant amounts of booze, we worked up an appetite. The fries were good, but the pretzel was terrible. They had karaoke in the other room but it was pretty repulsive. Some of those people should not have been singing on that stage. Staff are super friendly and flirty here. It was fun talking to them and just observing their behavior. Overall good experience! Service was wonderful. I ordered the chicken sandwich which was incredibly hot and I started to sweat a lot. I didn't really care for it. I ordered the Jamaican 10 Speed for a drink. I am a light drinker so when I do drink it hits at a certain point during the drinking. However, this time it never hit me, at all. I paid $12.48 for alcoholic drink where there was no alcohol put into it. I noticed it as I was leaving and thinking if this how they do business then I should have went some where else for New Year's Eve. There are other eating places in the area that actually serve alcohol and I chose this place.
