The folks at Fuego did a fantastic job of hosting a capacity crowd for the World Cup Final. The doors opened an hour before match time, and the host deftly pointed people to tables and other seating options based on the number in their party. The service staff had everything dialed in, working methodically and quickly, making drinks, taking & delivering food orders, and also managing to chat with people as they went, keeping everything friendly and personal. It takes experience and skill to work such an event without using the crowds and chaos as an excuse to offer less, and this staff really rose to the occasion. Special kudos as well to the team working the kitchen, because food came out fast and properly made. Again, so many places would have been content to serve thrown-together plates, but everything I saw was as nicely presented as if it was a calm day with a half-full house. An order of Steak Nachos was quite generously portioned, with house-made chips, creamy queso with a good kick of spice, fresh beans and jalapeño, sour cream and melted cheddar. But the real star of the dish was the steak itself -- good quality beef, well-seasoned and carefully cooked to retain juiciness and tenderness. So often the meat on nachos will be rubbery and disappointing, but at Fuego it's really top tier steak, and there's really only one proper reaction: Yes, Chef! A lot of customers were drinking beer and shots to fit the mood of the match, but mixed drinks from the cocktail menu were also showing up festive and well-balanced. The Paloma looked especially nice: tall and cool, colorful and topped with fresh fruit. A most enjoyable, refreshing sip. With well over a dozen TV's lining the walls, great food & drinks, and a staff this friendly, Fuego really deserves its own trophy for being the little, neighborhood sports bar that comes out on top. They have many TVs showing different sports at the same time, a nice size bar and bar area, in addition to regular tables and booth seating. The food is very much of bar food, with happy hour specials raging from five dollars to nine dollars. Five dollar beer and seltzers, seven dollar margarita, nine dollar appetizers. My favorites were the wings and pretzel. They do have a small private parking lot in the back and plenty of street parking nearby. They have great drink specials and food specials pretty much every day of the week. The staff was very welcoming, friendly, and attentive.I personally didn't love the food, but the location is great and the prices are pretty reasonable overall. I'd probably go back to try a different appetizer and grab a drink during happy hour. They also played really good music. Unfortunately, when we asked for the game sound to be turned on, they mentioned they have a new system and the staff wasn't quite sure how to work it yet. By the time someone who could help was available, we were already closing out our check and heading out. All in all, the staff is really great and the location is good. Came here on a Thursday for happy hour (5-8 pm weekdays). There is a small parking lot in the back which we easily found parking at early in the night. They have $7 lime margaritas and $7 draft beers as of this review and $9 appetizers. On Tuesdays and Thursdays they have $2.50 tacos. There were four of us there for happy hour. My boyfriend got 2 strawberry margaritas (extra $1 for flavor) and 2 draft modelos. I got 2 lime margaritas and my friend had a decent amount. I would say that our drinks were a little weak, maybe because we seem young? I saw reviews saying their drinks were strong but ours were definitely not. The $9 5 bone in wings with fries seemed like a good deal. The $2.50 tacos were pretty good too. I got one Al pastor and one carne asada. My boyfriend got 3 carne asada and my friend got 4 vegetarian tacos. They were flavorful and came with homemade salsa The service was nice but I wish our drinks were stronger. My partner and I came here on a whim quickly the other night before going to a show. The show was around the corner and we were looking for a fast bite to eat that still have happy hour. We walked to the front door and looked inside and it looks like they were closed. No one was there, and somebody was cleaning the bar. It wasn't even 8 PM and it said they closed at 10 PM so we were a little confused. We walked around to see if there was another entrance and there wasn't. Throughout the afternoon/evening, we enjoyed some mix and match beer buckets (complete with hard seltzers (5 in a bucket for $25), some Onion Rings ($13), Bone-in Wings ($18), Chicken Macho Nachos ($20, extra cheese sauce is $1), and the Quesabirria Tacos ($18). All the food was fine; I wasn't wowed by anything, but it served its purpose and was all great sharing food. All checks more than $150 have an automatic 20% gratuity added on, FYI. Not a problem, as we would have tipped her that, but, good to know so you don't inadvertently double tip. It was a bit disappointing to eat through these, but we liked it better than our entrees. - Entrees: Smoked BBQ ribs and Fuego burrito The burrito was dry and plain. The good part was the salsa on the side to dip it in to add more moisture and flavor to it. But it was very unappealing to eat. My girlfriend only ate half of it and didn't really want to eat any more of it. The BBQ ribs I ordered were so dry and was hard to chew off of the bone! I was disappointed by the meat quality of the ribs and felt like the sauce brushed on top is really the only tasty part of it. The food tasted very plain and nothing exceptional. The vibes inside are nice however and the staff was once again super friendly. This spot seems to be great if you are in the mood for alcohol, lively chatter, and sports-related TV watching. I had a great experience at Fuego Bar and wanted to share it! My girlfriend and I originally planned to go to Sol y Luna, but Fuego caught my eye next door, so we decided to give it a try--and I'm really glad we did. From the start, the atmosphere was welcoming, and the service was great. The prices were about what I'd expect for the valley, and the menu had a lot of variety, which made it tough to choose (in a good way). I ended up going with the buffalo sliders and a quesadilla, and both were delicious. The buffalo sliders had just the right amount of heat and flavor, and the quesadilla was solid as well. On top of that, the drinks were really good, making the whole experience even better. There's still so much on the menu that I want to try, so I'll definitely be coming back.
