The Happy Hour is buy 3 drinks and get the cheapest drink for 1 cent. Got the Chicken Quesadilla for $12. It wasn't bad for bar food. Also, got the Jack Tripper for $13. First time at this location and while the drinks are well-made and taste good, they consistently come across a bit on the weaker side compared to their Beverly Grove location. It's not a dealbreaker, but it's noticeable--especially if you're familiar with their usual pours. We also ordered a basket of fries, which were decent and came out hot. Nothing particularly standout, but they definitely hit the spot as a bar snack and paired well with the drinks. That said, I personally prefer the Beverly Grove location. The setup there feels more comfortable and versatile with both bar and table seating, making it easier to settle in whether you're just grabbing a drink or staying for a while. I've also found the drinks there to be more consistent in strength. This spot is still a solid choice if you're in the area, but if you have the option, the Beverly Grove location offers a better overall experience in my opinion. read more

This is a post solely about Mr. Furley's entertainment at the Sherman Oaks location... They're dart board area is awful--literally missing a board, the one that's left is battered to hell, you're barely able to use the chalkboards, chalk itself are nubs, the sponges(?) to erase the chalkboard are well past their use date and I mean the darts themselves are hanging on by a thread... Now for the shuffle board table... almost 0 sand is on/surrounding the board, the varnish on the table is almost entirely stripped rendering the wood to be uneven and extremely worn... I mean the list goes on here. A request to Management: please, if you're seeing this, just update all of it. Buy some sand from Home Depot for the table, sand down the table, repaint and revarnish it and boom, basically brand new. For the dart board section--it's time for an entirely new and updated makeover for that corner. read more

Chose Mr. Furley's as the place to watch Game 7 of the world Series, and it was a great decision all around. The casual and comfortable venue has a connected open patio that lets a cool breeze blow through the whole bar, which is especially great when the place is packed, as it was for the big game. Low key lighting from the faux incandescent LED light fixtures helps to keep things calm even as the energy builds. Loads of TV's, and a good crowd, so this is a great place to watch a game. They have a very large selection of beers, all in bottles and cans, though they also keep plenty of glasses chilled, so you do get the true "cold beer" experience. Yes, they have a full bar, and most were availing themselves of shots or one of the clever cocktails from their extensive list -- just know that the selection of liquors is small and relatively low to mid-shelf at best... this is not the place to settle in with an expensive, slow-sip drink, which is fine, but you need to know going in... They DO have Don Julio 1942, and I assume that's to make some extra cash if some of their tequila drinkers get tipsy enough to want to splurge. Why not? The big thing about Mr. Furley's is that they have a small but mighty menu of bar food that really rocks. On the surface, the selection seems quite pedestrian, but each item on the list is made in-house and easily one of the best renditions you'll have of that snack. Guacamole was fresh, very flavorful, and enhanced with a good-sized pieces of onion and tomato. The accompanying tortilla chips were also house-made, warm and thick enough to dig into the dip without breaking. Mozzarella sticks are, likewise, made in house... with a nice, light coating of breadcrumbs rather than the thick, doughy encasement on the frozen versions you get mostly everywhere. These are very good mozzarella sticks, served with tasty marinara and a ranch dressing that's also far more flavorful and garlicky than usual. Though we didn't order more to eat, we spied almost everything else from the menu being served around us, and it all looked and smelled great, especially the wings. Special kudos to the staff for handling the large, passionate crowd very well, serving very quickly and keeping things straight under stress. There were several bartenders, but the one working with us, Hannah, was especially friendly and excellent at her job. Would hope to be in her station whenever we return. I also want to note that they have a number of Happy Hour and other specials running, including a "Buy 2 Drinks Get The 3rd For A Penny," which most people were very happy to make use of. It's incredibly crowded, almost overwhelming. The noise level is off the charts, so if that's not your vibe, you might want to skip it. It's tough to have a conversation here since you can barely hear yourself think, let alone talk to someone else. But despite the chaos, it's great to have such a lively bar in the valley. The best part is the prices, super reasonable for a bar anywhere. You can get a beer for as low as $6, and mixed drinks start at $10, which is rare these days. Most places charge $14-$15 for a well drink. However, with the crowd come some issues. There aren't enough bartenders to keep up, so expect long waits for drinks. Finding a seat is nearly impossible, and getting close to the bar is a challenge with the massive crowd. Once you do manage to squeeze in, you may still be ignored like we were. After waiting 10 minutes, a bartender finally greeted us, but as soon as a woman nearby spoke up, he left to flirt with her, leaving us to wait another 7 minutes. When we finally got served, we got two drinks and some wings for just $28 what a deal. The wings were great: six pieces with carrots and celery for $10, my $7 beer, and her $10 well drink made for a solid time for under $30. The wings, in particular, were delicious. Despite the flaws, this is still a great spot to visit and just enjoy the atmosphere. Definitely worth checking out at least once. read more

I was waiting for 30 minutes just to order a beer and the blonde bartender in sweats (ed hardy I think) looked everywhere but at me. I moved over at around 1:40 am to maybe try to catch her attention so I can finally order my 1 modelo (which is in a bottle) she looked at me and said they aren't selling anymore drinks. I said it was just a modelo and she said she didn't care she's only closing tabs. I told her I was waiting on her side for 30 minutes for one beer and she said "doesn't matter she's only closing tabs" so I left without ever getting me one beer which is in a bottle. Not anything poured into a glass. I have bartended before and she is very unprofessional. 30 minutes for a beer is crazy. And even after that I respectfully just wanted my one beer and tried to explain to her I was waiting for a while for my beer but she did not care to hear me out. I tried to be respectful because I saw she was busy but all that got me was nothing. I have been coming to me furleys for years. This is my first time in a while and have never been treated this terribly by one of the bartenders here like she treated me. She has no awareness and can barely handle a few customers it seems. Tonight was our first time here... man it was packed but we got lucky finding two seats at the bar at the end after some people ordered and left. We loved our spots at the bar because we were in the mix but away enough from the crazy crowds. There's one pool table and a very long bar top. About four bartenders on a Friday night and even though it was busy, things seemed to be efficient and moving quickly. We got our drinks pretty fast! The place was very crowded and loud, but we decided to stay and ordered drinks at the bar. Our bartender was very friendly and came over to check on us and chat. The drinks were well-made and reasonably priced, and the bartender was nice. We left before what seemed like a karaoke night or band was about to start up. We were able to park nearby on the street and came in real early in the evening. Knowing this place had darts and a pool table, we figured that it would get even busier later in the night, which it did. We got the Nacho Quatro which had tortillas that came "sprinkled with black beans, cheese, pico de gallo, sour cream and jalapeño." Drinks are good here. And cheap compared to everywhere else. One thing I'm impressed by is that their prices still remain reasonable post COVID unlike many other places. Hubby and I had beef skewers and a chicken quesadilla. Both very tasty. Now to the good part. The dranks. I had the Scooby Bite and the Green Tes Shot...but as regular sized drinks because that's how I roll. Both super tasty service was good as well. Recommended. One thing to know. Stopped by here for a few drinks on a weekday evening because of their but 2 get 1 free special, which they offer 7-days a week from 5:00-9:00 pm. Also, their drinks are much more reasonably priced than other bars in the area (Tito's vida soda with lime only $9.00) and the bartender, Alberto, who is friendly and attentive, knows how to make some good drinks, and always provides excellent service. They have bar seating with large TVs to watch sports and a covered outdoor patio as well as a pool table if you want to play pool. I haven't tried their food, but they do have a limited number of items to choose from that are extremely reasonably priced. The security guard at the door is also very friendly and not over zealous. He always checks IDs so make sure you don't forget yours at home. Parking - gotta look for metered street parking or maybe park at a lot nearby. Would definitely return as they have great service and amazing prices. read more

Came here to check out their happy hour. Parking is street parking, we came up and got the spot right in front so I didn't have to do the driving in circles thing. Not bad it's buy 2 get one free (just make sure you order all your drinks before you close out the tab) they won't really remind you, unless you ask because we closed out and the bartender had not mentioned it at all. Drinks aren't overly complicated, and not super expensive. Online they advertise $5-$8 all night for food (this isn't anything out of the ordinary as this is the exact pricing on the menu so you're only really getting a deal on the drinks. There is plenty of seating, I came at a weird time so I don't know how packed it can get. Our crowd was a very chill vibe, mainly couples and no one was super loud. There's a billiards table, I head her give the balls to a guest, you sign a waiver basically saying you won't mess anything up... and then you can have it for as long as you like. This wasn't an issue for us cause we weren't interested but I can see how this can be a problem if someone decides to hog it all for themselves (hopefully you aren't coming here solely for that purpose) but I think there's a pool hall across the street if I wasn't mistaken. They also have a dartboard area with two boards, not sure if this is the same deal as the pool table. For this swanky ish bar vibes, their bathrooms are highly outdated. Small. In the womens there's two stalls, and it's not very well kept. Makes you wonder what the bar truly looks like when he dimmer is turned all the way up. read more

I've definitely been to Mr. Furley's more times than I can count, but that's because it fits the description of your favorite local neighborhood bar. It has very good pricing on its drinks, and some solid bar food (if that's your thing). I tend to favor the wings because why not? On the weekends, and during certain holidays it can definitely get packed so choose your timing and vibe wisely. Only downside is sometimes it can be a little bit too dim with the lighting on a Friday night but otherwise, definitely recommend. read more

Mr. Furley's is my favorite bar in LA. I live in Westwood but I will take the bus or ask a friend to drive me to Sherman Oaks for this bar. The happy hour falls into great prime time (5-9pm everyday) that I have time to hang out with friends and still save money drinking. Many other places have happy hours in the afternoon/noon which is very inconvenient because I don't want to look desperate drinking that early. With the happy hour price, all drinks combined are cheap and the snacks too. The food here is delicious. I love the beef skewers the best, then the tacos. Absolute garbage! Really tried to like this place since it's walking distance. Gave them 3 tries and it just gets worse and worse each time... No beer on draft, bartenders are ok but unless you're asking them to pop a bottle of beer open, they can't mix a drink if their life depended on it. Food is straight from the freezer to the frier. Security is a bunch of lamos trying to act hard instead of defusing a situation. Management is none existent... probably getting drunk in the back somewhere.
