Our front porch on our 1939 home had a fascia of brick that was loose and falling off. The…read moreflagstone on top had begun to crack apart without enough support under it. After I removed it, I found that most of the block support behind that was also loose or missing. I put in a call to several contractors for quotes. Brickworks was the first to respond and came up with an innovative repair plan. All others immediately said the whole porch would need replaced at almost 2x Brickworks quote. Decided to take a chance and was quite pleased. They repaired the structure, installed new fascia brick and were able to salvage some flagstone pieces to repair the surface of the porch. Everything was coated with waterproofing. However, when they were done they did an amazing cleanup and even repaired and seeded a few sq ft of damaged grass and reinstalled mulch around the porch. You would never have known that they were there except for the fact that the porch looked amazing. This work was done last year. It weathered great during the winter. I've always meant to post a review but never got around to it. I'd get a guilty feeling every time I'd see their trailer. Today I couldn't take it any more and just had to post. Would recommend them without reservation!

After talking about the job and what I wanted, I ended up with 3 different quotes from Alvin - the initial small project, and two extensions on it so that I could look at various price points for what I wanted. The quotes were very fair and, after talking with my wife, we went with the largest. This included removing an old, small patio and pouring a larger one as well as fixing some holes in our brick house. Alvin was great - he and his crew came out when they said they would. I was getting water in my house/ceiling and they identified that as the problem. I'd gotten several quotes that were all over the place, theirs was in the middle, but I liked their thoroughness and they had other good reviews. My chimney had eroded because I had gotten a new high efficiency furnace and the company did not install a chimney liner. Art of Stone did an amazing job, the result was a beautiful looking chimney and a new cap on top. I've had zero problems with water since then. I then had someone else put in a chimney liner so the problem wouldn't re-occur. I would recommend.
