    The cabins!

Ralph the owner is so kind and helpful! He was always checking in on us and truly cares about the happiness of his customers! We stayed in cabin 6 with 2 people and it was the perfect amount of space with a shower and a mini fridge! It is very close to mammoth caves national park as well as cave city where you can find various places to eat! We plan on coming back with friends to rent out a few of the small cabins together, it's a perfect place to gather in-between visiting the park!

I've got to say they sure make this place look adorable online. We rented cabin 1, the largest and the only with a full kitchen. I'll start with the good things, why I give it 2, rather than 1 star. -had a full kitchen -private -close to cave -separate bedroom for adults Why it deserves a 1 star -place was a dump. Paint chipping, carpet ripped in many spots, and so matted and musty and gross that we didn't dare put our bare feet down. Pull out couch was unbearable to sleep on, thankfully we had a spare mattress in the bedroom we pulled out daily. Besides the pull out bed the couch and 2 chairs in the living room were old and broken, almost like they were found on the side of the road. One of the doors to the outside in the bedroom wasn't even on its hinges! The furnace it once had no longer worked so electric heaters were place in the bathroom, bedroom and living room. Thankfully it was decent most nights so we were comfortable. This place needs MAJOR fixing up. Some things that don't even cost much. Paint, carpet and newer furniture would only set them back what they charge for the week which they could make back immediately. I would not recommend this place to anyone. We also never saw the owners other than check in and check out, no checking on us at all. We were there 4 nights.

This is the perfect place for a weekend getaway. I can see myself coming back, even if all I wanted to do was sleep in and have a campfire at night- this is the place for me. The owner and his wife make a great impression on what it means to have a small business and truly take pride in what you have. For me, everything about rock cabin camping is inviting. The grounds were kept and the rooms were very clean. The cabin we had was small and perfect for two. They have a few large ones to accommodate a family. I actually plan on gathering a group of my friends and coming out for a night away from the city and enjoy nature for a weekend. Venture out to rock cabin camping and relax- it is healthy for your soul.

Ask the Community - Rock Cabin Camping

Do you have facilities for campers also?

They do. They have several level tent campsites. They also have some RV (water & electric) sites. The tent sites have fire rings, picnic tables, an lovely shade trees.

Ralph, the owner, was extremely nice and managed to fit us in, and for only 16$ for a night for a tent spot.

The laundry, 2 machines were not working, called to have them come down and in the 3 hours of doing laundry and staying there no one showed up. A week later and the machine still hasn't been attended to. The laundry facility is filthy, bugs everywhere. The bathrooms...OMGGGGG, the dirt, dust, filthy toilets and no soap for the entire time we were there in the hand washing area. We used all the bathrooms, they were equally filthy. Mold in showers, hair in drains, no AC in the two main bath houses and when we went to attempt to turn the split units on, the filters were caked in durt and bugs. And the newer showers, the jot water heater lasted 3.5 minutes and went cold. The woman that I assume that was at the front desk was miserable, the employees flinched when they had to ask her questions and she was full of attitude. Her main priority was not moving and not working. If we had to hear they were short on staff again too. No wonder, the management is last and rude, who would work there. The place is so gross it needs to be reported. No consistency what so ever and no activities to do, lake wasnt open, nor the pools and the peddle cars were missing as well as the spider web for the kids. The closer to buay season the dirtier and less there is to do. Epic fail.

Also, unlike the national park, Diamond Caverns is first-come first-served with no reservations. I just visited the area for the second time, this time we had a lot of family members including small children. We did the early morning Mammoth Cave beginner-level tour and then went straight over to Diamond Caverns for their tour. Everything else in the national park was sold out for the day, but we went straight onto a Diamond Cavern tour with no wait and a group of 14 of us. The tour guide was very patient with the bunch of small children in our group. Overall, I highly recommend Diamond Caverns if you are in the area and interested in taking an hour-long tour that includes a lot of steps to get up and down to/from the caverns. There is some neat local history included as well. There's a full gift shop with beverages and restrooms available on site. No food, drinks, or bags of any kind are allowed in the caverns.

When looking for things to do in lieu of MCNP we ended up at Diamond Caverns. It was ok. We'd been to Carlsbad Caverns recently so this was very underwhelming. 4 stars because the staff was great. The tour guide had her script nailed and she was passionate about working there. Large gift shop. My kids loved it and sometimes at the end of the day that's all that matters.

I see staff maintaining the gravel roads that give way to the heavy rains and they make sure the lots are safe. If you're not happy with the site they will find you another one. It's always full during the weekends. There's a short lull and then we get new neighbors sometimes the very same day the last folks left within an hour or so! Beautiful large green area for your dogs to explore. Has large swimming pool, basketball hoop, and put put. Only one laundry facility. It uses CSC Go. You'll see lots of deers when entering or leaving the park so slow down. Glasgow or Bowling Green are your go-to for big stores shopping or groceries about 15-30 minutes away. Checkin is easy and straight forward, they had us find our own site and call back with number. We found a nice backin, full hookup site in the shade with open space to one side of us. Not all sites have 50 amp, some are 30 amp only, which is not a problem with us, we know how to play the don't have multiple power draws on at the same time game. The park itself was quiet, probably most campers out for the day seeing the sites close by. The park seemed well cared for, newly mowed. It's not a real large park, the long term are separated from those passing through. The laundry in the park was more expensive per load than what is charged in other Thousand Trails Parks, so we waited until our next location. We noticed the pool being filled for the season and that the Mini Golf had be redone. What makes this park special is the proximity to the National Park. The Mammoth Cave, Diamond Cave, multiple hiking and biking trails close by. One trail can be picked up on the main road in front of Diamond Cavern entrance. The trail will take you to a mammoth Cave. We road our bikes on the trail, be prepared for a bit of of a climb, the return is lots of fun with all the downhill. This campground is also close to other caves as well as outdoor activities. We regret we did not schedule more time to explore the area.
