    Fried Cheese

I have passed by this place for years, but never ventured in. I was looking for a place where u could get some fried seafood and I noticed that they had fried clam strips. I had not had those in a while, so I decided to give them a try. I ordered their fried cheese and the shrimp and clam basket with tater tots instead of the fries. The cheese sticks were fried crispy, but still good and the cheese was melted. The clam strips were good and so was the shrimp. The tester to weren't fried as crispy as I would have liked on the inside, but they were still good. I enjoyed everything and sould order from here again. I ordered for pickup and did not rest in. It is really a bar and not a restaurant. Bar top tables and chairs. The entire restaurant is smoking. I wouldn't actually be able to est ordrinm their as I am not a smoker nor do I like the smell. They do offer Uber Eats, but eith this type of food, I prefer to pick it up myself and go from there.

    Time for a club!

Rock on!! Classic rock and heavy rock at Rock Falls! I sauntered into this dark, dank tavern, frankly because my two other dining options in that strip mall were closed and I didn't feel like fast food. So I thought I'd give this place a try. The first thing that hits you in the face is the smell of stale cigarettes. There are crusty old ashtrays on most of the tables. Really people, gag! I almost turned around, but my growling tummy had me venture into this cave further. Many of the vinyl covered chairs have rips in them. And some of the tables had chairs stacked on them, but I walked in at 2:00 pm just as they were opening for lunch. It wasn't much to look at... arcade machines along the walls, neon beers signs, dart boards, wood paneling, spongy, beer-stained tan carpet. No one was around, so I walked around the corner and there was another room. This area was nicer than the first room, but not by much. Did I think about skedaddling again? You betcha! But I hadn't had breakfast and I was hangry! I didn't feel like the drive thru across the street. So I slipped into a booth, and pushed the ashtray away. Here's where things take a turn, for the better! A friendly, welcoming server named Peg, came up with a menu. (During Covid, so she wore a mask & had paper menus.) We exchanged pleasantries. I ordered an iced tea, a club and fries. Hmmm, she's totally sweet, I thought to myself. While I waited for my sandwich, I checked out my surroundings. One guy was at the bar playing party poker on one of the blinking machines, and the only other customer was a dude drinking a cold one at a bar table. You could tell they regulars from their conversations with Peg. More dartboards, video games, and neon lined the walls and several TVs were mounted around the perimeter of the bar. A bucket of water from the leaky roof was displayed in the middle of the room. I pulled out my trusty book and tried to keep myself occupied while Black Sabbath, Ozzy Osbourne, Jefferson Starship and AC/DC blared in the background. My meal came out fairly fast and I must say, it looked delicious! And it was! It was a huge triple decker concoction piled high with cold cuts, bacon, cheese and veggies on lightly toasted rye. It was fresh and well presented! The mound of shoestring fries were hot and crispy on the outside and fluffy inside. I wasn't expecting the food to be this good! But I wasn't disappointed, another pleasant surprise. The prices was reasonable, and I left a nice tip, not only because of covid, but because the service was superb. Peg was super attentive, refilling my tea and engaging in casual chit chat. After I devoured my sandwich, (yes, I ate it all!) I went to the ladies room. Ugh... no tissue paper or paper towels. It was pretty rough, needed a thorough cleaning! The whole funky, dive did! Even if I was between a rock and a hard place, I don't think I'd fall for Rock Falls again. So the two stars are for Peg and the Club!

I went in for the pho and bánh mì, and both delivered. The pho broth was the star--deep, rich flavor without being overly salty, and you can tell it wasn't rushed. The pork bánh mì had everything you want: a crusty roll, tender seasoned pork, crisp pickled vegetables, and fresh herbs that brought it all together. What really surprised me was how well they pull off the combination of neighborhood sports bar and authentic Vietnamese restaurant. It's casual, welcoming, and feels like one of those places locals are going to keep recommending to friends. If you're anywhere near Midlothian, put this on your list. The pho alone is worth the trip, and the bánh mì seals the deal.

Although the servers are great people. They are often understaffed. The first time I went here was with my child hood tennis coach upon coming back to Richmond. When I saw sports bar, I thought we were about to have a day. I was ready for it, but after he ordered a coke, I knew this food was about to be pretty good. I didn't really order food because I was ready to party. I then went with my girlfriend and we got the spring rolls and chicken Verecialli. I realize the spelling is wrong but autocorrect won't help me out on this one. With her being half Asian and looking closer to 75 percent Asian, that should be a bigger testament to this review. She loves this place! I order it to go frequently and usually have no idea what in the hell I'm ordering, but I know this shit is nice. Give this place a try.

Their menu is interesting, but I have to say I was disappointed to not find vegetarian options for their pizzas. There might have been one, but for a truly artistic place in such a liberal, artsy area, they should have had more options. Service was mixed - Our main server was forgetful and spacey... We would ask for things and he'd acknowledge and walk away only to come back a few minutes later and ask what we asked him for. Come on... Do better, management! As for the food - The pizzas really needed a slightly higher temperature and about 30 seconds more. The meatballs were cold inside and the sauce was luke warm. The Calabrian cauliflower was also on the cool side - very odd considering we saw char marks on them. Hmm... The flavor of the pizzas was nice though, but it would have been so much better if it was a little more charred and crusty. Overall - This was on my 'hit list' for visiting the downtown Richmond area, that's why I brought colleagues here for dinner, unfortunately it didn't deliver - far from it.

It's located in the back of Rosie's Casino - you do have to go through security and show your ID to be able to enter (must be 18 or older). There are several large screens so it's a great place to watch a game. Several beers, a couple wine options and mixed drinks available. They seemed to be understaffed when we went so while the servers were extremely nice, it did take 25 minutes for us to get our beers. The food (wings & Parmesan truffle fries) came out quickly and while I prefer breaded, crispy wings, the sauces were pretty good. I loved the truffle fries and bonus: all appetizers are 1/2 off during the March Madness games. If there's a big game we want to watch, we might return since they have so many screens and a decent beer selection.

I REFUSE to eat meat ANYWHERE in RVA but this place. Swear to GOD. They are really that good and we are talking about access to a full bar and HELLA TVS. All jokes aside, you can't thank me right now for coming and trying the wings. TBH, I have no idea about the rest of the menu but I hear that the ribs, chili and nachos rank high up with the wings. They also have specials they run through the week like live bands on Friday, Trivia on Tuesdays and BOGO wings on Wednesday.
