This is the Lafayette location of Rock 'n' Bowl which started in New Orleans so you have the duel options of a Rock 'n' Bowl in both Lafayette and New Orleans. The concept is simple in that they offer live music and bowling along with hosting special events. I've visited Rock 'n" Bowl in New Orleans MANY times while I've only visited the Lafayette location a few times. The Lafayette location certainly has similarities to the New Orleans original while it also has its own unique aspects. Overall I enjoy both locations and when I'm in Lafayette it is certainly a good idea to visit Rock 'n' Bowl. read more

Hubby and I were in New Orleans for Christmas 2019. We are lovers of boudin. So we decided to rent a car and drive to Lafayette to search the boudin trail. We got some good stuff. But since trip takes a few hours we decided to stay the night. Both of us love zydeco. I heard that Chubby Carrier was playing here, so I scooped up a couple tickets and off we went. The place was decorated so nice. We got in and the show was just about to start. We got a couple drinks. Can I say very inexpensive. I went to the bartender and asked about bowling. The lanes were full. Disappointed we listened to the great music. About 5 minutes later the bartender found us. Someone had canceled their appointment. Score. We had the best time. What a fun place. We didn't bowl, but had a great time dancing to the live music. Cypress Valley Band was performing and they were amazing. Great sound system and huge dance floor. Bar service was quick and the staff were friendly. We ordered the pot stickers and chicken tenders. Both were good considering it was bar food. What a cool concept and such a fun place! We came here to see a band and got here early, so we decided to grab some dinner from the restaurant. I got The Dimaggio, which is a marinara and meatball poboy and it was very good. Initially we were only here for the band but when we saw how much fun everyone was having bowling we decided to buy a couple of games. It's been years since I've bowled and I honestly forgot how much fun it is! I had such a great time! The great music coupled with my lousy bowling had me laughing/dancing all night long and it was seriously the most fun I've had in a long time. Heads up-there is a cover to get in most nights when they have a band playing. It's not a cheap night out but you will have the time of your life. read more

This was fun! Love how it's set up with the party rooms upstairs and we can bowl and listen to live music. Our lane kept getting stuck but they came fix it every time. The drinks (alcoholic and nonalcoholic) were great. Best fruit punch ever! Needs a little more seating in my opinion. Great date night idea. Love the restaurant idea in the front. The organization I was with had catering so I didn't get to try the restaurant but I will next time. Love this idea! read more

This place needs to realize that not everyone has the same hand size - very limited on available balls. Each lane has a 7 lb, 9 lb, 10 lb, 12 lb and 15 lb. you have no choice in choosing on that fits your hand grip. They finally brought over a 6 lb ball with the tiniest holes- my fingers wouldn't fit in the holes. After 15 minutes I gave up on bowling even though I reserved the lane for an hour. Save your money and go elsewhere to bowl. I'll never come back and will recommend to others to stay away. read more

I went here to observe a band playing for a concert for my history of rock class and to bowl a few lanes while I was there. The bar portion of the establishment seemed to take the most space though, but I don't like alcohol so I didn't like how that facet wasn't further established in the title "The Rock'n'Bowl Bar" would make more sense. I also had a history in bowling, so I came with high expectations for that as well and was gravely disappointed, the lanes were not even and the ball hole tore up skin on my ring finger. I'm used to my custom bowl, shoes, and home alley so I was a tad biased. I added one star because a staff member working was kind enough to let me upstairs to take a good photo of the band, it's a shame that don't use that space more if they want the bar, bowling, and live band atmosphere they could put people there for the live music upstairs until they want to bowl or vise versa, allow people to sit upstairs if they are waiting for a lane. I also am not a huge fan of mainstream sports and that's all they played, The vibe of the bar seemed distracted by what would make the most money and not would make the most sense. read more

This was my first time coming here and it wont be my last, thats for sure. I had a fundraiser event here that I came for and it was so much fun. I love bowling so being able to spend 2 hours bowling and listening to upbeat music made it quite the experience. This place is fairly new so the whole facility was very well maintained including the restrooms. Customer service is a top priority here and anything you need, they will fix it for you. They have private party suites up top that are very spacious and roomy. Next time I come here, I for sure want to come listen to one of the many bands that are playing. I highly recommend this place to anyone. read more

I was initially excited to see that there would be a Rock 'n' Bowl in Lafayette. I had been to the one in New Orleans and was thrilled to see one here. Then, I went in and saw the place. I don't know what the developers were thinking. The one in N. O. has the dance floor in a back corner of the building. This place has the dance floor right in the middle of the bowling alley. With very limited seating, you have to get there early to get a seat, but good luck keeping it. You get up to dance and someone takes your seat. The dance floor is narrow and I almost got run over one night by a guy telling me to get the f--- out the way. Plan to stand or dance the whole time you are there. Good luck! read more

Average at best! Very small venue for concert. Don't go expecting to have adequate seating. You will be standing majority of time. Some people are ok with that but I'm not! This is not a good place to bowl. I like the atmosphere a lot and every one I talked to was nice... but if you care about bowling I would not suggest this place. The lane was completely dry. My ball started hooking as soon as it touched the lane. I asked when the last time any of them where oiled. They couldn't tell me and they said it might be another week before they get oiled. Any bowling alley worth its salt can tell you how recently the lanes were oiled and what pattern was used, which is normally just a house shot. It was also mentioned that these lanes were really old, which to me is not a negative. I love to see old lanes still being able to be used but not when they're neglected. The balls that they supply looked horrible. They had huge gashes, scratches and cracks. I'm a two handed bowler and I have my own bowling ball so this didn't really affect me, but it was sad to see. I stopped bowling after the second or third frame and we left. Maybe this is cool place to listen to music and drink (which I don't drink) but it's not a good place to bowl. read more

MY REVIEW OF ROCK 'N' BOWL in LAFAYETTE, LA I booked dinner and bowling for a rehearsal dinner, and it was a disaster from beginning to end. Despite having met with the coordinator, emailing back and forth, and signing a detailed contract, the night was ruined and Rock 'n' Bowl still owes me at least $500.00 that I'm sure I'll never get. The big issues were these: 1) The private dining area was not ready for 2 hours past the designated time. 2) The cheeseburgers that were served were positively awful. They tasted like microwaved meat loaf. 3) I paid for my guests to enjoy 2 hours of bowling, but our 8 lanes were totally shut down after only 1 hour. The arrogant, rude little manager refused to turn the lanes back on and even laughed at me when I tried to explain that I had paid for 2 hours. 4) Worst of all, I paid for my guests to have free beer, wine, and soft drinks, per our contract. They were to pay for anything else they wished to drink, but--unbeknownst to me--the bartenders were never told this; consequently, anyone with a gold armband--and even other bowlers not part of my group--received anything they wanted to drink at NO CHARGE! Needless to say, I was presented with a whopping bill at the end of the night! 5) After many unreturned calls the following days, I finally heard from Johnny Blanchard, who was sarcastic and condescending. He eventually refunded some of my money for the drinks, but still owes me roughly $500.00. This evening, which should have been one of celebration and fun, ended up being a catastrophe. I will never go back there and encourage everyone else to avoid this money-grabbing venue. What a shame for Lafayette! read more

I love this venue for live music! I was prepared to hate it...too big, too shiny, not enough grit or personality. I was wrong! The dance floor is spacious and comfortable, the service at the bar is friendly, and WOW they did such a great job on the decor! I have not eaten at the restaurant yet, but friends are telling me it is fantastic. My one complaint is the disco mirror balls. They just seem...out of place. And unsettling. For dancers, they create an odd sensation, and I've heard several people say they can't tolerate the dizziness they cause. Why not just leave them stationary? We had a blast. We were meeting falling in LA as it was a half way point. We went in the afternoon on a Friday so it wasn't busy. The staff was super helpful and nice. Anytime we are in Lafayette we will be going here again. Again best staff ever!! read more

Came here before a concert. What a great spot. The food was incredible. Fresh fish and a great filet. We tried the appetizer special. It was a delicious spinach dip with fried oysters on top. So many other items on the menu to try. We are putting this place on our regular rotation. read more

TL;DR Horrible experience. We will not be back. NOT KID FRIENDLY. No overhead scores, poor lighting, poor service. All of our family was in from out of town. We called and made a reservation for 2 lanes for 2 hours. When we arrived, they had lost the reservation. They could accommodate 2 lanes for 1 hour. They didn't accept our counter of 3 lanes for 1 hour though there were visibly empty lanes. One of the lanes wouldn't even work for the first 8 minutes of our set. We had to go get someone to reset it. We had 11, 9 and 7 year old with us. We asked for the bumpers. Turns out NONE of the bumpers work per the worker (or so they said. GUESS WHAT?!? they miraculously worked for the people after us). They only have one of the kid friendly bowling ramps and it was being used. Also, midway through the game they had to move one of our lanes because the lane was malfunctioning. Later, when it worked again they inserted random people between us (so much for family bonding). Because of all the shenanigans with the lanes, and trying to get the bumpers we didn't even get through one game and the lane cut off. No option to extend our time (like I have encountered at similarly price structured alleys). They did give the one group from the malfunctioning lane an extra 20 minutes (only after we asked, it was not offered). It was great the rest of the group just awkwardly stood around. I bowl about 2X per month and was excited to try this place but it was a miserable disappointment. No overhead scores, poor lighting, poor service. read more

I go to RnBdL to dance . I like the venue itself, but a there's one thing in particular that people have complained about and some will not return because of it. The swirling lights caused by the mirror ball, that moved throughout the dance floor and the bowling lanes. It has caused people flicker vertigo. My husband and I went here recently for some zydeco dancing and had such a good time. The whole atmosphere of the place was so cute and the staff was super sweet and accommodating! We talked to one of the bartenders, Gabrielle (?) for a while and she took great care of us and helped me sort through their pretty decent selection of local beer because my husband loves the local stuff. Can't wait to go back and bring the kids and actually do some bowling! read more

New into town & gave this place a try. We went on a Sunday & they have a live band which was really nice! Pricing is decent. You can get beer & other drinks at the bar near the lanes but for any specialty drinks you have to go allllllll the way to the front. Kind of annoying. You can order off the iPad but it's limited. We didn't have food, just drinks! The pins didn't rack too well either towards the end of the game. Some would fall over & we would have to reset it from iPad. Not a big deal for us, but if you're competitive it could be an issue. Overall we had a good time. read more

If not for the moving light dots on the dance floor, I would rate it a four or five for dancing. I for one cannot look at the floor at all without getting dizzy. Whereas for certain types of music, I'm sure that people enjoy the prom ball effect but for serious dancers it is just a hindrance. The food in the restaurant is excellent. read more
