This is such a great little sushi place. True to their name, they play rock n roll music and the walls are decorated in the rock theme. The menus are on old vinyl record covers. The service is always great, and if you ever have the pleasure of having Monica as your server, ask for one of her personal signature margaritas. They're incredible! The sushi is named after rock bands/singers. It's wonderful and always quick to be made and served. The chef doesn't mind subbing items in rolls. Just ask! For those who don't like sushi, they also serve hibachi style food, but note that it isn't cooked in front of you since this isn't a traditional hibachi restaurant. Let me start off by saying this, this isn't your traditional sushi bar, it is however absolutely outstanding! The sushi dishes are more or less an introductory style of sushi. Some rolls are deep fried or baked and most contain some type of tempura. That being said, you can always opt for the roll you order not to be cooked or contain tempura and go the more traditional route. My favorites are the Red Hot Chili Peppers roll and the Johnny Cash roll. Both are mildly spicy. It's actually an ingenious twist on sushi that should motivate more people who claim not to like "raw fish" to actually try it. This location has become my "go to" spot while in the area. Oh, the drinks are very good as well. Monica does an outstanding job and she's really good with the patrons. Give them a try. You can thank me later. read more

I have mixed feelings about this place & have ever since they opened. I was absolutely thrilled when Saraland got a sushi restaurant but the prices always get me. Today for my daughter & I to have lunch was $40+. Two sweet teas, two sushi rolls, one bowl of miso soup total. I'm sure that's average but for a frugal like me, it's a bit much for lunch especially when Publix & Rouses has excellent sushi for much cheaper. At times, the sushi is better than at Rock N Roll. I also wish that Rock N Roll would offer healthier varieties such as avocado wrap, brown rice, etc. The Rock N Roll in Saraland has been renovated recently & it looks amazing. It's very clean & modern. Another reason I rated lower is because other than distancing tables, there were no precautions against COVID19. The staff did not wear gloves or even masks. I was very disappointed to see that. There's definitely nothing there that draws me back except when friends or family want to eat there. read more

The mainstream sushi rolls were good quality and reasonably priced. I made the mistake of getting the Sweet Home Alabama Roll. It tasted like a cheap hotdog and was very pricey. I suffered from some stomach issues that started almost immediately. I will visit the restaurant again but I will definitely stay away from the catchy touristy items on the menu. My wife isn't a sushi fan and got the chicken fried rice. It was not great because it was extremely salty. I have always been a fan of Rock n Roll. Mostly because I'm a huge fan of fried rolls. I frequently stop in and an disappointed that it isn't any busier than what it is. There's only a few tables taken up the majority of the time. Being from a small area, it can be hard to find somewhere different to grab food from. The service is always fast and, with the exception of one time, it's already very good. I love the Michael Jackson roll and the Heart roll. The only use one ever had was one time the crab topping was not completely cooked like it normally is. Compared to some sushi places, the rolls are pretty large and one is definitely enough for me and we always pair it with the crab wontons (they never disappoint!) I feel bad for having to bash this place, but food here was very Ehhh. I am very confused about the 5 stars that it currently has so I feel compelled to inform others. The whole meal I could hear my internal voice as Gordon Ramsey saying, "This is terrible." That said, I came here for dinner on business expense. I regret spending my expense budget on this meal. I ordered the beef tataki, ginger salad, AC/DC Roll (scallop and salmon), and asian tacos. Beef tataki (1/5)i: The server asked me how I wanted that cooked. I was thrown off because tataki is usually rare beef, lightly seared. I threw a puzzle look and told her rare. It comes out looking completely cooked in some places and then just a non-seared steak in others. They also cut it very thick and used eel sauce instead of ponzu. I think I'm going to be sick tomorrow. AC/DC roll (0/5): This was basically a raw scallop roll with salmon on top. The two as a combination sounded okay and I really enjoy raw scallop, so why not. I was wrong. They drenched this roll in plum sauce and eel sauce... They're both very sweet sauces, and none of them go with the raw fish combo. I could maybe even see one or the other, but not BOTH. Ginger salad (0/5): I ordered this last pretty much and would say they totally missed the mark on this one. They used romaine lettuce, but fed me the end pieces. I had wondered where all the good pieces went until I got my next dish. Asian tacos (2/5): They used all the good lettuce pieces in this dish. It wasn't very great, but this was the least sinful dish of all. Then again, it wasn't very great of a fusion dish either. They drenched the taco in the same plum sauce they drenched my scallop in. Overall, I should've gotten a rack of lamb someplace else with the 50 dollars I spent here. The only thing that saves this place is the atmosphere and acceptable service. I do like the concept of the Rock N Roll decor, but the food was terrible. I ended up driving down the road and ordering two Krystal burgers. read more

Never got to actually eat here. Went in the door 25 minutes before closing on a road trip and tried to get a seat. At least a dozen people were dining in. My family and I were told that they were not taking any more diners. I have always had a good relationship with Rock-N-Roll Sushi, but this location has no management. It also proved to me that Rock N Roll Sushi Franchise allows their owners to be disconnected from the restaurant. We went yesterday (Sunday) at about 12:30 and hung out until 2:00. We were the worst kind of customers, ordering a drink, 15 minutes later ordering some food, 20 minutes later deciding to try a little something else, 30 minutes later something else, and some more drinks. Our waitress, Charley, and the young lady backing her up, were very pleasant about it all. We used a coupon we got on the phone for 10% off, they were nice about that too. They didn't try to hurry us or show any irritation, which we have run into at other restaurants. The veggie roll was good and surprisingly inexpensive. The Japanese bagel was funny...rice instead of the bagel with lox and cream cheese. I loved the ginger that comes with several of our selections. The special, I think it was called Prince or something, was wonderful. I can't remember the names of the other ones. Anyway, this is a fun restaurant to go to with other people so you can try different slices of the different rolls and not have too much of any one. We had the sauces on the side, and the waitresses were nice about that, too. I will definitely be going back. read more
