My husband and I decided to give this nail salon a try after our usual salon was booked up. We both asked for the 50 minute pedicure and received a rushed 30 minute pedicure. This would be fine, but we were charged $55 each which is the price for the 50 min. I was charged $5 to take shellac off my toes and $5 to take shellac off my fingernails. This is also fine, but she didn't take it all off. We got manicures and that was $20 each. I usually get pedicures and manicures at the other Rockstar in Calallen. There is really no comparison. On our way out, there was another couple standing outside looking over their receipt in detail. I feel like we payed a pretty penny for rushed, poor quality service. But this time I went with my wife and decided to pick a "fun" color. You could tell from the start they couldn't be bothered to help me properly. I thought I found a new salon to spend money at but I was WRONG. I walked in on a Friday and got a full set and my toes painted and they were great! After this I talked to the lady about lash extensions and she told me to go back the next day between 3-4 but call before hand. I live a good 45 minutes away. I called next morning and she told me to come at 4:30. they closed at 5 but I didn't realize this because she told me the appointment time. I got to my appointment ON TIME and sat there until 5:30. the lady then kept asking me what I needed done but was giving me attitude and said it was a little late but she can see what she can do. While I'm still waiting I have several employees approach me and ask the same questions. One of them even told me it would be an HOUR wait even though I had a 4:30 appointment. The lash lady was doing a pedicure that she took right before 4:30!? I don't understand how the had other workers sitting around and couldn't take over the pedicure for the only person that knew how to do lashes??!! Then She took me back finally after an hour of me sitting and did my lashes. However! they are the worst. she charged me 60 and I tipped her 20 because i always do. she put so much glue that my eyes are swelling! there is more glue then lash and they are HARD! of course I didn't say anything because it was a bad idea experience from the start! The one time I want to be bold and get a coffin-shaped full-set, I leave with an uneven, squared-shape set of nails. I showed the nail tech a picture of the shape I wanted and allowed him to make the judgement call on the length of the nails for that shape. He trimmed them then filed, filed, filed and assured me that they were coffin-shapped. Since they are really the only decent nail salon on this side of town it gets really busy really early. Which means your services are severely rushed. When I went in to get a pedicure a few weeks ago, I was in a bit of a hurry so I chose the cheapest, quickest pedicure because I didn't need all the hot towels, the scrubs or anything fancy. It looks great, is lasting well as expected, and they have a HUGE selection of colors compared to other places I have been to in the area. The man that did my nails was sweet, friendly and did a great job. Wish I had gotten his name before I left so I can ask for him again, and I will go back. Make sure you include the tip when they run your card, as they aren't set up to add the tip in later when you sign. Prices are fairly reasonable. The other day, I went in for the same as always and questioned if the polish was supposed to look the way it did before I paid for something I wasn't happy with. Went for a kids manicure pedicure for my niece. Called ahead to make sure they had availability for a walk in hey said yes. Got there and she was seated immediately which was great but noticed the tech was very rushed. Didn't even clip her nails or clean underneath which was really the whole reason I took her. Clean spa with professionally dressed employees. How nice that they offer "complimentary" beverages. Except that they overcharged me $10. Maybe that was an automatic 15% tip? Basic pedicure was excellent. Since the chairs are still new, the mechanical massage is still fantastic. The waxing services were unacceptable today, however. Surely it can't be legal in the state of Texas to perform personal waxing services in an office chair in a tiny cube of a room while simultaneously applying lashes to another customer in the same room in a recliner, along with other technicians barging into said "closet" reaching over customers to take out supplies to wax even more customers outside in the nail area . . . I only hope that this situation will be corrected very soon and that they will have the proper equipment (tables covered with paper) and private space once they finish their renovation/addition. I will try again in a few months. If this situation is corrected, I will happily rate highest! If not, the State Department of Health should get involved. read more

I've been going to RockStar Nails since they opened up, and I have never been disappointed! They are the only place in Corpus that understands what I want, when it comes to a manicure. I always get Solar Stiletto Nails, and they never chip or break. I highly recommend going with Diane, she is a perfectionist and always takes her time. She is high in demand, so I would recommend making an appointment prior to going. Since it is a newer establishment, all of their equipment and furniture is new and clean. Every station in the salon is very clean and there is never a strong odor when first walking in, unlike many other places. The wait time for pedicures has always been quick for me and there's never been a long wait. I always feel pampered when leaving their salon and I know I'm getting my money's worth! As I was purchasing food at WalMart, my card was declined. As I looked in my bank acct, both debits were run through. I went to the establishment and asked for a manager. They ignored me and I waited for over 30 min and not until I showed their customers their error. They assured me the manager would call by the end of the day. I received no call back. I went to the establishment again, and asked to speak to a manager. They said ok. They proceeded to ask me what about. I informed them. They then told me the manager was not there. I told them they said someone would call. I sat and waited patiently and they ignored me again. When I showed the patrons the debit, they finally called the owner. The owner said he was out of the country and could not restitute until they saw the debit. They found the receipts and told him of their error. He proceeded to tell me that he could not restitute until it hit the bank even as showed the debit on my bank acct. They proceeded to call the police and the police helped me get necessary info from my bank acct. to follow up. 4 days later, they still took the $65 for the horrible nail job and he offered me a $50 gift certificate that I will never use. $630 is not $65 and I am a single mother. They do not value their customers. So no star.. read more
