It would have been nice if a hair dryer had been available so that the pauses for some people waiting for stuff to dry could have been accelerated. The staff was friendly. We meet Kyle right outside of the studio by their Woodshop stand sign. We walked down a ramp and to the last suite on the left (I believe). The shop smelled like fresh wood chips and had great circulation. We learned so much from Kyle and appreciate his patience as he tried to test our math/fraction abilities haha. But even with the math, Kyle made it felt easy and informed us of the power tools and made the machines less scary. It was such a great experience and our bookshelves turned out sooo great! We gained more than just bookshelves but confidence in building and a spark for ideas for the next projects. My wife will be joining the intermediate class and build more things for our home. So happy a studio like this exists!

Since I have never went to school I expected there to be some hoops to jump through but didn't think the process would be that bad. The accuplacer test and the meeting with the adviser went well but things quickly deteriorated from this point on. The financial aid office was a nightmare, every time I called them or went their in person they were rude and always told me to call back later to find out more about a question I had about my account. I completed all the paperwork and it has now been over a month and they have not made any changes to my account, I still see little red flags in my financial aid page. I have sent several emails to various people in financial aid and have not gotten one response from anyone at all. The last time I talked to them; since the drop date for nonpayment was quickly approaching, I was told that they were still processing my paperwork but I would not be dropped from the classes I registered for. Today I got a letter saying if payment is not made by the 21st I would be dropped from my classes. This has just been a nightmare and I feel like I have wasted a lot of time and effort on a school that acts like it is doing me a favor by doing their jobs...or more accurately by not doing their jobs. Not to mention that I never received my refund card that has information on it so if and when I finally get the financial aid aspect of this nightmare done I can receive a refund. So I called the cashiers office to find out what happened to it. The person who answered the phone literally sighed into the phone and begrudgingly took my information to find out what happened to the card. Big surprise they were no help but told me if I paid $10 they could send out another card. When I tried to ask them another question they became belligerent and started to talk over me saying they had already answered my question then they hung up on me. You would think that an institution that has falling enrollment rates would train their staff in some form of customer service. Is it that hard to treat someone that wants an education and wants to give your workplace thousands of dollars, with a little respect and God forbid do their jobs without making you feel like your ruining their day just for making them tap a few keys on their computer. My advice for anyone thinking of going to this institution to look elsewhere, while they used to have a great reputation it seems they just don't care about student or potential students anymore. TLDR: Staff is rude and unhelpful, if you want an education and are going to spend thousands of dollars on it, go to a place that wants you their and will treat you with respect, they are not the only game in town and with their falling enrollment rates I hope at some point in the future they will hire competent employees and turn this sinking ship around.

The website indicated you will be taught how to paint but this was not the case for me. I knew nothing about painting only having done paint by number through the years. It was suggested that I purchase over $400 of art supplies and through Jerry's only to find out with now being with the Greenwood Village Curtis Art Center that I do not need many of the paints nor brushes. I am learning about value, placement and how to mix colours to achieve and learn about the colour wheel and how to make the colours work for my painting. I was interested in painting a landscape and found the selection to choose from was around animals and things I was not interested in. I stopped because the only print that even came close just did not do anything for me.
