Total ripoff, you're better off going to Home Depot or Lowe's. Staff is rude and condescending

AVOID AT ALL COSTS Was verbally harassed and had a hanger…read morethrown at me! I brought in an expensive silk dress that needed simple alterations. I had to come back a second time because a man told me that the tailor was not in that day. The woman that does alternations is very sweet. She said that my dress would look better tailored on the sides as well, and I trusted her opinion. I got my dress back the day before my event. She had me try it on and added finishing touches but I was still worried that the work did not come out to be what I expected. I tried on the dress when I got home and the straps popped off, and hole appeared on the sides. I realized that she tailored the sides too tight that now the silk was no longer laying flat. I went back the next morning, the same man was working. I showed him the issues and he said that he was going to fix it himself in 10 minutes. This would be impossible because all of the stitching had to be undone, and i already knew that he did not do alternations so he would've ruined my dress further. I told him that I wanted a refund, and I did not need my dress to be fixed. He got VERY aggressive and was trying to rip the dress out of my hands. I had brought the dress in with my own personal velvet hanger that he took when I first showed him the dress. Before I left, I asked for it back because he had carried it to the back of the room. He kept yelling at me said he didn't have it, and then ending up bringing the hanger back and he THREW IT AT ME. I ended up going to their location in Parsippany where I was refunded by the woman who did work on my dress, and waited for her to take the stitching out, and fix the straps that came undone. The straps were done with different colored stitching. Needless to say, the man working there is extremely rude, unprofessional, and has 0 manners. The woman is kind, apologized several times, but she does not alter expensive clothes well. I got a refund but my $300 dress is ruined.

Since my height falls into the petite category, I have to use alteration services very often. Green…read morePond Cleaners gets it right every time, and very timely. Thank you, guys. All my altered clothes fit perfectly. The staff is friendly and polite.

When I was a kid, my mother made fun of people who brought their clothes to dry cleaners. She…read moreespecially mocked anyone who used these shops to wash and iron a dress shirt. Yeah, a coat or a pair of wool pants - go for it. But a washable shirt? When you have a perfectly good ironing board in the closet? Forget about it! Leap ahead several decades - one day, after struggling for 15 minutes to iron a 100% cotton Oxford shirt it dawned on me that maybe, just maybe, my mom had it wrong. The switch from self-service to using a dry cleaner happened in ernest when I began to work in business. Every company back then required that up and coming junior execs wear a crisp cotton shirt very day and, for a VERY long while, a suit. That's when dry cleaners became my friends. Sadly, I have been through several Morris County cleaners - dissatisfied having lost shirts, buttons and even experienced beyond-repair damaged items so finding a good dry cleaner is worth its weight in, if not gold, at least loyalty. Word of mouth sent me here and ever since, Franklin Plaza Cleaners has been my go-to shop. How long? Let's just say, many, many years. In the beginning of my patronage, I dealt with "Frank" - the owner and I developed great respect for his care, outstanding quality and fair pricing. A few years ago the shop changed hands but the quality has not varied - not one iota. I have NEVER lost a shirt, tie, or any other garment. I have never received one of my pricy shirts back with a crushed button - not once, never! And, after my second visit, even the new owners know me and pull up my order immediately. Can you love a dry cleaner? Maybe. More important, if your dry cleaner is THIS GOOD, should you love your dry cleaner? Absolutely! Highly recommended.
