I decided to get the coconut water. As a cashier is always waiting by one of the checkout lines. Service is good. Grab, pay, leave and drink it. So refreshing and it tastes so good. I can always count on something healthy to drink or eat from here. Ambiance is casual and comfortable in here. I will be back again and again when I need something healthy to drink, eat or both. And so far they've always had offered really good recommendations of things to try! Even though it's smaller than some of the other Down to Earth locations, they still have a great selection of vegetarian and vegan products, produce, supplements, and prepared foods. They also have great weekly sales and samples. She always doesn't seem very happy to be there, and she does not hesitate to make her customers feel that. It never bothered me, nonetheless. Today, however, I stood in line behind a mother and her son. Luz was tending to them as I waited for my turn, then LUZ just started asking, in a very loud manner, several times "ANYTHING ELSE?!?", while the mom and son were deciding (in an uncomfortable way, as she was pressuring them). As I observed this, I couldn't help to notice how rude this behavior was for a customer service staff. I continued to mind my own, until she then turns to me, and RUDELY says, "CAN I HELP YOU?!?". So, I answered that she is being very rude to the customers in front of me and that she needs to exercise patience because they are not finished yet. The boy thanked me for giving them more time, and he shows photos on his phone of what they needed more, LUZ, showing irritation towards the mom and the son, demands the phone so she can see for herself. Which again is not a very ideal way treat customers when you are representing a company like Safeway. No Aloha. Nothing. Just sheer rudeness. Fortunately, Judith was there. She smiled and patiently helped the mom and son instead, then helped me afterwards. The boy thanked me for showing patience, something LUZ did not, I personally commend and thank JUDITH for showing professionalism and ALOHA. That's what SAFEWAY is all about - ALOHA from staff like JUDITH. LUZ, however, needs to be corrected by the management ASAP. I understand working in customer service is not easy, sometimes even frustrating, we are just humans after all. However, the mom and the son, and I, were not demanding excellent service from LUZ. I'm a firm believer in honesty and even though it can sometimes be trivial there's that old adage of dishonesty in small things will lead to dishonesty in large things. Did my shopping on line as usual, set the time for pick up as usual. Got to the store and texted I'm here! What I got back was "your order was delivered at 10:50 AM" like 30 seconds after it texted my arrival. Confused I wrote out another text to tell them I neither received my order nor did I get a number to confirm. Before I could hit send a young woman walked up to my car and handed me one bag and said thank you. Again I was confused because the confirmation was for three bags but they jammed everything into one and affixed three labels on it. Checked and all my stuff was in it but here's the dishonest part....i was charged for three bags and yes it's only 15¢ per bag but that's not the point. In addition I ordered two containers of fresh raspberries and for the first time using this service I received containers with moldy berries in the bottom of both. Then carrying the bag up stairs the handle broke because there was too much stuff in the bag and I'm now picking up groceries down a flight of stairs. I wont be using this store again. They shouldn't be allowed to shorten their delivery time by texting when they haven't actually delivered to my vehicle or charge for labels instead of bags or give rotten fruit....not what I paid for and doesn't happen at other locations.

They have a full deli…read moresection where you can get pizza..tacos... sandwiches.. a food bar and bentos...and this is the main reason for this yelp. (This particular yelp review is only about their less than honest practices. I went recently and they had a sign (I should have taken a pic) that said bentos different varietys $6.49..but when you go to the register each bento is priced different. My friend pointed this out to them so they honored his $10 bento giving it to him for $6.49 and said they let management know and they would fix it. I went to check if they changed or pulled this very misleading bait and switch sign down.. which they did not. A very dishonest practice and also against the law. I took the sign down and when I returned 1 hour later they put up the same sign again which proves it wasnt a mistake it was a dishonest tactic to cheat the public their patrons. They just want you to grab it because its advertised as a good deal and if you dont notice you get rung up a higher price. My friend said depending on which bento the prices vary from 8 - more than $10. So if they purposely do this in the deli they could be using this tactic throughout the store... Its a beautiful market with the majority being good people but this practice aint cool and once trust is broken its hard to get it back. I am hoping thier HR dept comments we will see.

There is nothing better than a freshly baked bagel, except a fresh chicken musubi. I do enjoy the furikake being mixed into the rice and not clumped up under the meat. The chicken is boneless white meat, lightly seasoned, lightly hand breaded and fried. So lovely for breakfast! Definitely NOT a Foodland Farms, with a salad bar, hot bar, juice bar, etc..but a much loved store in the Dillingham area. So much parking, even though there is ongoing construction next door and the morning staff are so nice and helpful! Treat all customers like family. Thank you Foodland!

This Foodland is a mess & always busy, from waiting in customer service line , noticed a lot of customer in line for Western Union & the lines are long, it's very crowded. Understandable-The only grocery store that's convenient in this area. This recent visit, since I was near a Foodland, stopped to grab few cans of Spam with Hello Kitty can, the cashier that helped me was nice & quick with ringing my purchase. *Do the survey , every 30 days to get that 200 Maikai points, I look forward to seeing what's they got for $6. Wanted to get the honey garlic since the reviews of that were good. Looking forward to trying them, but I'm sure I'll enjoy them since I love their original and their furikake. They had four ounce original, furikake, hot furikake, honey garlic for $6/bag and 10 ounce furikake in the shop. (I don't remember the price for the 10 ounce.) Great service - you ring the doorbell and someone comes to open the door in a very short while. They serve you immediately and are so friendly and nice. Be sure to pick up your shrimp chips here, their hours are pretty good, too. As of 6/2/26, they are open weekdays, and for Tue thru Fri open at 8 or 9 and until 5 or 6. As long as you are in the area or live in the area you can probably get there after work if you can't get there during the day. Mon is half day until 1pm.
