    Hot food- fried chicken, tots
    Liann A.

This Foodland location isn't too far from the airport and in between the Honolulu Airport and Costco. While waiting for one of our friends to land, we grabbed some groceries and of course had to grab our fix of poke. They also have hot food like fried chicken, tots, and other things to eat too. It's a grocery supermarket store that all of the locals also go to and it's a quick in and out to grab your stuff. I like to get their fried chicken. My friends like to get their poke- salmon, tuna, mussels, octopus, kimchi, seaweed salad, cucumber salad, garlic, and a side of rice. You can choose what size portions you want as well. The cashiers and workers are friendly, if you want to use the restroom the workers will escort you to the back of the store. Be sure you have a Foodland number or account to get all of the discounts.

This location has friendly cashiers. The poke was fresh and delicious. The tako and mussels did not have flavor. They also ran out of my favorite dip, kimchee.

Super friendly and helpful. I walk past the meat section to buy some fresh corned beef. I went up and down the Isle twice. Didn't see it, so I asked the butcher, which was doing some stocking. He walked me over to the cold cut and Hotdog section. Then I went to get some miso paste. While going down the aisle, a worker asked me if he I needed help in finding something. I told him that I was looking for miso paste. He pointed it out. I passed the miso three times. It was in a container which I had never seen before. Checkout was a breeze. Very good friendly. Kudos to Foodland. Enjoy

Foodland was my first stop after landing in Oahu. Solid poke with huge range to choose from. Lotsa food in general and very clean grocery store. Be sure to ask for poke samples!!

Yummy! Poke! Service was ok lots of fresh food and was pretty good - they have vinegar chicken which i've never seen and some more local dishes as well.

Our go to place to get poke in Oahu! I think this is our first stop when we land, our mid trip stop, and our last stop before the airport. There are definitely some amazing poke places around this island but Foodland is quick, they have a lot of options, and they're consistently delicious. There are also so many locations that you can easily stop by, pick up your favorite poke and head to the beach or the park. I'm a salmon lover so the shoyu salmon is usually my go to but we also throw in a pound of tuna for a balanced diet. If you can find won ton chips to go with them that's the best, but you can't go wrong with tortilla chips or the snack seaweed.

The inside of the market is clean and well kept. The atmosphere is always lively and there are plenty of seats to sit after purchasing food. The hot bar has a wide variety of foods and a salad bar that offers a little of everything for everyone. I did not get to try anything from the hot bar but my parents and sister for the most part really liked what they got. The hot and cold bar is priced by weight. The rotisserie chicken is pretty dry in my opinion. For the price, (about $7 to $8 I believe), it was a disappointment compared to Costco. The poke bar was definitely the biggest hit. After grabbing a number and waiting to be called, my sister and I decided to get two 1 pound containers of tuna and a half pound of a little beef item. The workers behind the counter were helpful and kind. They made really good suggestions. I would definitely recommend this market to grab food before heading to the nearby beach! Loved this market :)

The crispy Japanese sweet potato drizzled with a bit of honey was incredibly comforting and homey, and a nice balance of sweet and savory. We also tried the chicken katsu, which had a light, crisp breading and came with fluffy white rice topped with furikake. And even after we moved, we would still drive out just to come here for the seafood. That's how special it was to us. The reason why he chose Tamashiro over other grocery stores was simple--it was quality and because of my Nanay (grandma). His mom purchased from here and made so many delicious dishes. He knew what to look for, and he trusted this place. For him, it wasn't just about buying food... it was about getting the best for his family. My dad isn't the type to say "I love you." He shows it. One of the biggest ways he showed love was through his cooking. Even after a long day on his feet cooking for others, he would come home and cook for us. That was his way of taking care of us. I loved coming here with him. It was a five-senses overload--the smell of fresh seafood, the sound of people talking story, the colors of fish on display. Back then when you were allowed to sample a grape or poke to make sure it was good before buying. But more than that, it was time with him. I still remember the excitement I felt when I saw the pink building with the huge crab.
