All sandwiches are basically $15+, small portions, and food was similar to Chick Filet or McDonalds quality. Overpriced and low quality.

Came here with my mom after reading all the great reviews and unfortunately it just fell short. I…read morethink the person working that day was new because she claimed they don't have corned beef despite having a Reuben on their menu. Thankfully another employee rectified that. The meats were not flavorful at all and tasted off. The rolls were not as fresh as we hoped either. We took the sandwiches to go so we didn't discover the quality until we were home. I will say their chipotle mayo is very tasty. Based on other reviewers, we will give them another chance for sure.

Ever gone to a place where one thing on the menu was great and then the rest of it was average or…read moreworse? It's the reason why now when I try a new eating place, I order out a bunch of things and then host a tasting party. Do various reviews swear by the Reuben sandwich at Crossroads Sandwiches in Scituate? Yes. And it is amazing. But what about the other menu items? So, a few days ago I went to Crossroads for the first time and ordered 6 sandwiches: Gobble Gobble Full Throbble (turkey), Italian, Henhouse, Forager (vegetarian), Mimi (roast beef), and the Grilled Chicken Panini. I then got some friends together (sandwich lovers who don't work in the restaurant biz), and we each had about a quarter of every sandwich. We all thought that the sandwiches from Crossroads were among the best we've tried in the South Shore. To make sure we didn't just catch them on a good day, the next day I went there and ordered three different sandwiches: the Reuben, Tomaso Tomato, and Double Smash Burger. I had a different group of friends meet to try these, and they had the exact same reaction as the first group: OUTSTANDING. Final result: all 9 sandwiches were top-notch, not just in flavor but also in terms of how they were assembled. The perfect ratio of meat to veggies. The right amount of sauce. The order of ingredients added for optimal taste and construction. These are carefully crafted sandwiches. These are sandwiches you want to eat slowly and savor. The excellence is everywhere at this place, and the fact that the food is excellent is a testament to the process of Crossroads Sandwiches. It would be easy to overlook this place because it is literally situated inside of a gas station mart. But the place is immaculate. And their incredible attention to detail even extends to how they pack their sandwiches. The Double Smash Burger was packed in a square cardboard container which matched the dimensions of the sandwich. The Forager came in a rectangular cardboard container which allowed it to arrive in pristine condition. Then they used thick butcher's paper for many of their other sandwiches. It's clear that each type of sandwich was packaged for optimal transport. And the owner Ben and his crew are as customer-friendly as you could want. When I went there the second time, I asked him about where he gets his ingredients because they clearly are far superior to the standard mass-produced meats and veggies found at most other sandwich places. And the secret for why this place is so great was revealed: he carefully sources everything AND he smokes all his own meat. Ben is clearly a hands-on owner who combines talent with attention to detail to put out a fantastic product. There are plenty of good sandwich places. But this is an exceptional one. One thing to be aware of is that the menu of sandwiches listed on their website homepage is far smaller than their full menu. To see the full menu you have to click on their Order Menu button. Crossroads Sandwiches is a true hidden gem. When Ben told me that they've been open for 2 years, I was shocked that it's taken me this long to actually try this amazing food venue.
