Yep, definitely good, juicy, fresh wings here. As people have mentioned, they are a bit on the pricey side, but the quality is worth the price in this case. I bought the 20 piece bone-in with no breading. I got them sauced in the diablo buffalo sauce and I knew I was in trouble when I got home and opened them up and they were deep brown in color and the smell almost knocked me over. These babies are hot!! I'd say a bit hotter than the Blazin from Buffalo Wild Wings, but the wings are far superior in quality. The fries are pretty good as well. The Diablo was too hot, but the Inferno was perfect. Until the last time. I ordered them again and the sauce was a joke, zero heat. I hate breading on my wings, but I almost wish I had it this time. The quality of the wings went way downhill, they were smaller, drier and just plain poor. I gave them one more try. I ordered naked wings, as hot as they could make them. It had been a little under a week since I visited this place, and I am still teetering between a four and five-star review... This place is one of those ones that are smack dab in the middle of 4 and 5. But, I settled on five, because I got great food at an excellent value, and while there were some minor points which it could be improved, and I was not blown away, that's okay. My realization came from the title: "Fresh Wing," I had wings, they were fresh out of the oven, (or is it fryer?), still steaming fresh. Even when I started working on the third and fourth piece, when I removed them a little puff of steam came out... this tell me beyond a shred of a doubt these spent no time under a lamp! In terms of different flavors, out of the 21 they have, I chose the honey gold BBQ (honey mustard). Now, I love to mix and match when it comes to various flavors, but unfortunately this is not allowed. Since these wings come out fresh as opposed to out from under a lamp, doing five, ten, or more flavors individually for each piece would greatly slow down the kitchen. Not just that, but they don't skimp on the sauces, so they would end up mixing in the container... and you'd get gosh-knows-what. I quite liked this sauce, it was a fairly good mix of being sweet and mustardy, as it was neither liquid sugar nor did it have the overpowering flavor of mustard. However, only as a matter of personal taste, I would have liked the flavor more towards the mustard side (bear in mind I am a decently large fan of mustard!) Then, there's the chicken itself. In terms of freshness, with it still steaming I have no complaints. It may not have been the most tender stuff I've eaten, but the consistency was in line with dark meat chicken (which I prefer anyway). While I would have liked just a little bit more breading, I realize that with the sauce, if there was too much breading it would immediately get soggy. Even in spite of this, too many places have the unfortunate tendency of having more bread then there is chicken. Value, therefore, is terrific, for my five tenders I got surprisingly huge pieces of chicken, which wasn't 50% bread by weight. $7.99 may seem expensive, but when you see the size of the wings, you'll have no regrets. You also get a little bit of celery, and either bleu cheese or ranch dressing. Both of these (two are a little bit extra) are solid, nothing to write home about, but not terrible either. I would have liked a little more celery though. Then, I also made the mistake of getting the fries. Not because they were bad, but because it was just too much food! They, like the chicken, were fresh out of the fryer, having spent no time under a lamp. In terms of flavor though, they were pretty average. While not soggy I would have liked them a little crispier, and they were pretty under-seasoned. The service was fairly quick (considering they are made fresh) and polite. The location isn't much to look at, but when you are devouring the delicious wings, this is a non-issue. read more

You're going to need a MOP to clean your face after having just one of these super saucy, juicy, huge wings! No joke. My brain can't comprehend how anyone can give less than 4 or 5 stars for this place. Seriously. This place is amazing. I love that there are two parts to this restaurant. The first part is a takeout area where you can order and eat a quick meal on their basic dining tables- or you can go and have bar service on the other side. Paul was our server- and he makes a mean margarita! Great bartender. That side has a full bar and 5 TVs to watch your sports on. I was actually surprised because I wasn't expecting this place to be as large, neat and clean as it is! Great place for a date or to bring the kids, since they have two parts. I'll be honest...I'm a HUGE wing critic. I mean- I think wings would be my last meal if I were on death row. I know wings.. Great little wing spot and has a great couple of people running the restataurant. I ordered the XL box with fries and I got garlic parmesan, hot sauce, and a dry rub. All were delish. Hot and flavorful and each was served with blue cheese and celery on the side. Seeing that it's the start of the football season, I saw the packaging of others picking up their to go orders and they use great packaging that keeps things hot until the customer gets home! Every time I come to this establishment, I squeal with such delight I almost pass out. One time my buddy had to physically hold me down and soothe me because I got so excited just entering the place. Anyway, onto the food. Really -- and I mean really -- wonderful, whimsical wings! I told my son a couple times, these wings make me feel like I can fly, LOL (not sure he heard me as he was busy on his iPad -- free WiFi is a nice touch!) When it was Hudson Roast Beef & Wing, this was the best wings around and one of my favorite restaurants. If I'm correct, it was sold to the current owner and re-opened as a pizza place with a near-identical menu. I tried the pizza and their wings and was not particularly blown away. however, the current owner then relaunched it as Fresh Wing, and I could not be happier the high quality Jumbo Wings (seriously, these wings are huge) and plethora of sauces are back. Crunchy, quality fry, and no overcooked sinewy bits that are so common when using the smaller, cheaper wings. I'm reserving my 5 stars until I can try more of the sauces but I'm pretty confident they will make the grade. Staff is friendly and service is prompt, competitive pricing, I only wish they retained the order sizes based on military watercraft that HRB&W had. I've been here 3 times and have gotten 3 different wing types each time. Buffalo and Tangy Teriyaki were great. Garlic Parmesan was ok but was more of an oil based wing dressing than a sauce per say. Solid but nothing special. They make their own blue cheese dressing which is really good. The one bad item was a Chicken Caesar Salad. Not a ton of chicken, the chicken chunks were small and dry, and there were cucumbers in this Caesar salad, which is just weird and certainly not traditional. My major gripe with FreshWing is the cost. The wings are fresh and good size so I understand the price has to be a bit higher than your traditional wing place, but at $1.60 per wing for the small, it seems a bit high for being in the deep suburbs. read more

This was my first time here and i have to say it was such a good choice. I brought a couple friends we ordered a 15 wing meal half spicy and half teriyaki. They were so delicious and flavorful. The wings even had a good crunch to them which I loved. Love the outdoor seating as well. I noticed on my way out that they do have $2 Draft beer, unfortunately I didn't get to see what beer options they have but I heard from another customer that they will be renovating and adding a more stocked bar very soon. I'll definitely have to go back and try some of the many flavored they offer for wings and maybe even try the boneless next time. The wings are pretty good. I typically get boneless and have tried a handful of flavors and they've all been pretty decent to above average. I recently ordered a 10 piece and asked to try two different flavors. I was told they only "split" flavors on orders of 15 or above or I could order two 5 pieces. 2 5 piece was $3 more and the 15 piece was $5 more and I didn't need that much chicken. Seems like a silly, unnecessary policy. Not in the best interest of the customer. Management should really reconsider this. read more

Wow these are tasty wings. For our last party, we had a big tray of the boneless garlic parmesan and a big tray of the mango habenero (my current favorite). Both were gone literally in 5 minutes, and then people turned on the tray of celery and dips (one guest was using celery to shovel blue cheese sauce into their mouth while yelling "vegetables are healthy!"). There is two sides of the business. The take out and dine in side. I ordered in the take out section and ate in the dine in area where Paul (the owner) and his fiancé were serving and tending the customers. When deciding what size to get, the person behind the counter should have helped us out by saying the 10 piece should be plenty for the two of us. Instead we ordered a 15...way too much. Each piece is really big. The wings were over cooked (chicken was chewy) and had no flavor (HoneyBBQ). This is without a doubt my favorite wing place. They are high quality for a reasonable price. They offer many choices including an option to order then With no breading. That is important because my wife and I had bariatric surgery and cannot have anything breaded . Prepared fresh and very tasty! Period. I have tried them a few times now, they are very good and delicious at what they do. My favorite so far has been the orange boneless chicken, the flavor and texture reminded me of Cheesecake Factory's orange chicken dish minus the rice and green onion. Worth every penny in my book.
