I bought a steak package from Rockin H. Best quality steaks I've had in years. Would give 6 stars if I could. Highly recommend!

This place is a legit mom & pop, homegrown, hole in the wall kind of business. Although, you…read morewouldn't expect too much different being on Bowman Rd in Cottonwood. We stopped in here while visiting family to see what kind of options they had. We're always on the hunt for good quality meats. While they're primarily known for processing game, I'm glad we stopped in. What stood out to us: 1. Prices are extremely reasonable. $7/lb for Tri-tip and that isn't even a sale price. We pay atleast $12.99/lb usually. They also had organic chicken (although it wasn't labeled organic, they said it is) for $1.50-5/lb depending on the cut. 2. When asking what's popular, the owners mentioned the sausages are a hit with the locals. They make them all in house. I was particularly excited to hear that the sun dried tomatoes in the tomato basil sausage and the jalapeños in the jalapeño cheese sausage were grown in their garden out back. It doesn't get much more fresh and local than that! While we didn't try the chorizo this time, they also noted that it's a popular option and they have people purchase it in bulk to use at restaurants. One thing I would note is that it seems like their retail meats are sourced from a number of places . They have some stuff that they just bought commercially, some stuff that is from other fairly local farms, and some things that are processed right there in house. Sourcing matters to you? Be sure to have a conversation about it with them, Roger there they can tell you everything. One of the owners and her son spent a lot of time with us. Also note that if you spend about $200 or more they'll give you a flat discount off the top! We spent just over $200, and came out with 3 heaping grocery bags of meat to fill the freezer! You can't get that much bang for your buck at the grocery store.

We did arrive a little late, but she was so kind and still took the time to help us. The service was great, and we really appreciated how welcoming and patient she was. The location right off I-5 is…read moresuper convenient, and there's plenty of parking, which is always a plus when you're traveling. The staff were very pleasant -- I was greeted cheerfully right when I entered. The inside has a classic diner atmosphere, relaxed and welcoming, exactly as shown in the photos. I ordered the BLT sandwich with added avocado, fries as my side, and a salad from the side menu. Everything tasted fresh and hit the spot after a long drive. The portions were generous and very satisfying. Perfect stop for travelers looking for good food, friendly service, and easy access from the freeway. Highly recommend!

They should use something other than the super processed cheap American cheese though, that was a big chemical tasting distraction from an otherwise good sandwich. I had two eggs with hashbrows and an English muffin. I asked for my eggs to be soft scrambled...and they were perfect. That is not usual as soft scrambled is very hard to do right. The hashbrowns were frozen (so are the country potatoes according to the server) so not horrible but not great. My English muffin was toasted well and buttered well so points for that. Service was also nice and prompt. We would come again if in the area.
