Absolute madness. There's no parking anywhere in this place. If you come at noon, that's it you are done. We were driving around looking for parking. Once you get over the parking you will pay 2 dollars for the floating. Idk how much is the rental as I got a 12 dollar float so please research on the rental. You are allowed to bring your own buzz and music so make sure to be prepared . You can also smoke while floating. So if you can get over the parking issues you should be fine. All I say is be prepared and bring all the gear you can for fun. Also come in early so you don't have parking issues, if you do, look for some back streets that have no parking regulation ... they are a bit far bit a great choice in case you can't find. Parking near the park

River access on the "private property"

To start off we paid a $10 parking fee, which is completely fine I understand it is a heavily visited area. However once we got to the river area to see how it looked a employee told us to leave because it was a "private property" and we had to go elsewhere. I said how come there are so many people??? She said "idk." I think that was unprofessional and disrespectful in her part. I tried to rent tubes for me and my family to be able to float the river after this incident happened from this same company and they said if we knew how to swim of course we were honest and said no. They refused to let us rent tubes instead of just providing us with life jackets. That is WRONG! Don't come here unless you want to be refused service. If i could give it 0 stars I would.

This was our first time floating the Comal river and I am so glad we decided to use Rockin 'R' because the experience was AMAZING! There was no parking available on site but their website directed us to a parking lot a few miles away and the bus shuttled us back to the outfitter. Once there we rented our tubes and hopped on another bus that took us several blocks to the river. We floated on a Saturday and there were people EVERYWHERE but it was great! The water is cold and the vibe was relaxing! Floating the river is our favorite place to be in the summer time and this outfitter helped make our experience AMAZING! All the employees were super friendly and more than willing to answer all of our questions! This will be our go to for floating the Comal... Everytime!

We've used this place twice and it was great both times! Easy in and out! The area to exit the river is a little tough, but we make it!

Convenient, quick service. Everyone was very friendly. We did not even need a reservation.

Get a tube for the cooler (or get one of those sweet inflatable kind) and some rope or bungees to tie up tubes and coolers.

Their website was helpful with some of the questions I had and all other questions were answered when I got there. Our group was around 16 deep and we were the first customers of the day. The staff here was very patient with us and got us situated smoothly. There's a fair amount of parking out front and they are really good about maximizing the space. They do have bathrooms available as well as a place to rinse off if you would like. They do have items to purchase for your tubing needs like rope, bungee, etc. One thing we assumed we had on our tubes were ropes, but that they did not so we struggled a little bit trying to stay together as a group. A little upselling would have been appreciated in this instance. Once you are all paid up and ready to go, they bring around one of their shuttles that pulls a trailer for your tubes. We packed tight into that little bus and off we went. Before heading out, they gave us a run down on how things operate and rules to abide by. We were given specific instructions on what to expect and landmarks to remember when it was time to get off the river to where we parked. There are different float options depending on what you're looking for as far as how chill or how much time time you want to spend on the river. We chose a float that was estimated to be 4 hours with a little bit of chill and thrill. It really all depends on the flow of the river. This review is based on the company that facilitates your float trips and not so much a review of the actual experience. This company did a great job and I would use them again if I ever decide to float the Guadalupe again.

According to Curt C, this page is based on the first chute at Prince Solms Park. I went through 3 chutes during the entire tubing experience. The first chute is still on the park ground. That was really fun, if you are a swimmer. I have seen people tumbling down into the river at the end. I watched few TikTok videos the day before going tubing. I know not to tie with other tubers. Because it will automatically tumble down and flip the tubes with whomever is on it. Since this was my first tubing experience, I didn't document the location of each chute. The first and second ones were approximately 5 minutes apart. The 3rd chute was so minor, there wasn't anything spectacular about it. After seeing a bridge, the final public exit was ahead. I paddled hard because my friend got motion sickness, we had to end the trip as quickly as possible. The whole excursion lasted less than 2 hours. My belly and knees were sunburnt like a lobster, even with layers of sunscreen. If you asked me, yeah, I would do it again.

This chute is fun, but be careful with the kids. My husband and i like this place. Now look…read moredifferent and more clean

It's also perfect for first-timers, nervous swimmers, or anyone who likes their adventure with a side of peace of mind. The river is gorgeous, the wildlife is out for a cameo, and the float itself is just long enough to refresh your soul and restore your peace without taking your whole day. A few highlights: The bathrooms? Usually clean for public restrooms. Picnic benches so you can munch after your float - and I highly suggest bringing a picnic and lots of water - remember to also hydrate on the river! STAY HYDRATED. You can swim at the put-in area and at the end of the float. And the waterfall at the end? Don't panic -- it sounds scarier than it is, but trust me, it's the best part. Pure fun! Now, the people at the register... well, let's just say they're not exactly winning "hospitality team of the year." They don't always explain things, like the fact that the price you pay to float (with or without your own tube) does NOT cover the shuttle. That's kind of important information, folks. The shuttle fee actually covers rides all day long (huge win -- but only if you know to ask). Also if you're paying for and blowing up six tubes, then hand them a tiny cooler float? Yep, they'll want to charge you again. Come on, folks, throw a gal a bone (or a blast of air). I'd love to see a couple of actual adults helping at the desk to smooth things out -- because the float is absolutely worth it, and the experience deserves a front desk that matches the fun of the river. Bottom line: go float, enjoy the scenery, take the shuttle (seriously, don't forget to ask), and ride that waterfall with a big goofy grin. It's San Marcos at its best!
