Nice seamless tubing place. We went during the end of the season and there was barely anyone there at the 10am time slot. The staff got us checked in and tubed up in the river fast. The starting point here is a bit further than the other tubing places which would also be further than the first rapids. This means you get more slow water river time before hitting the mess of people and fast streams. It's was only $20 per person which kind of makes it cheaper than the other spots. But I also prefer them since they are less crowded. read more

A group of us planned a float this summer and Landa was great! Like other tube locations on the Comal, this place rents tubes and a ride back up to your original parking spot. It has a free parking lot, and if you don't get there early enough for a free spot, the surrounding lots charge $20. We had a reservation for a group of 13. We went into a separate line got a wrist band for tube rental and a wristband for the return trip at the bottom of the river. The Landa Falls company might just live up to their promise of "longest float on the Comal" as their start point is right up against the We got in at 1130 and got out sometime around 230pm. It was a good time, and one of the few floats where I really didn't have to get out to drag my tube over low water. The current moved pretty well the whole way. It was pretty crowded, but folks were pretty respectful and helpful. Our group of 13 did not stay totally together, but we still managed to enjoy the float. As a single you can move easier, but bigger groups that chose to tie their tubes together found it tougher to move to through the chutes (and other choke points). Again, not a big deal if you make a day out of it. The float is a social event, not a race. Tip: If you're going to bring snacks and drinks onto the Comal, save yourself a potential $250 fine by only bringing non-perishable/disposable containers with you in the coolers. (I know what you're thinking... even the non-disposable can become disposable on the river, but make your best effort to keep your rivers clean). We had plastic re-usable cups and filled them up with our adult beverages out of a cooler. Tip2: Sun block, snacks in tupperware, float-worthy music device, and a great attitude. The river was low, so watever u do DO NOT JUMP IN! I made tht mistake thinking it was deeper then knee high. Ooppps 1st time ever doing this. Rented the tube's from this place, they also sell waterproof bags for your phone for $5. They hve tube's without the bottom or w the bottom. We had a tube for the cooler. Don't forget to bring sum kind of robe so if ur w alot of ppl or even a few u can all float together by attaching the robe to the tube's. I do not think they sell the robe. It takes bout 4 hrs to float all the way till the end, cause the water moves slow. Whenever u decide to get out there is a shuttle tht will take u bck up to the parking lot. U hve to walk like a few blocks w the tube's to get to shuttle. Great time! read more

This is the only company I've used on the Comal. It came highly recommended by a friend who used to live in San Marcos. Easy convenient free parking across the road. Parking attendants are friendly and helpful, even out in the oppressive heat. I've been twice now, once on a busy busy Saturday in June and once on a more quiet Thursday in July. Both times, we drove in from out of town. On the Saturday float, we had about a 2 hour wait when arriving around noon. We were given wristbands with a check back in time. It was nice to not have to wait in line. We went to downtown New B while we waited for a beer and a snack. When we got back, there was only about 10 minutes of line and checking in until we had tubes in hand and were off! On the Thursday float, we walked right in, no line no wait. Staff were friendly and helpful. The extra 15 minutes of float you get is nice and not too busy. It gives you time to get situated before the crowds arrive. Even through it was crowded, it was still fun. The water level seemed low-ish, as we had to pull our butts up on some of the chutes. Thanks for the tip, other floaters!! I'm glad to have dodged the butt bruisers. The August float too much much longer due to lower water levels - even though it was considerably less crowded. The exit at the steps is crowded and deep! Be aware that there are deep drop offs between the rocks. My buddy drank quite a bit of river water when he was supposed by a drop off! The shuttle is nice. When it's busy busy, it's not a long wait. When it was slower, it was about 10-15 minutes before the shuttle came around for us. Hoping to go once more before the season wraps up! read more

We came out to new Braunfels for a weekend of tubbing, Landa Fallas is our go to for rentals. You can book online and make it easier for your entire group, since you can sign the waiver online. They have free parking across the street. The tube ride lasts about 2-3 hours. River is a blast, bring your own rope to tie your group together. You will have to be able to go in a line at a couple of places so make sure you can untie yourselves from at least one side to make like a snake. ***you must bring reusable containers if you plan to consume alcohol. We usually bring our own tubes and pay for just parking and walk back to prince solms park.Landa falls was nice and convenient with the shuttle.It definitely gives you an extra hour on the water. However, the tubes do not have backs and a much smaller than the ones you see people on the river with and what we are use to. This is more of a tip per se... All of the floater companies offer a military discount, but this one. This location is the best but really is all about the bottom dollar. New management is what we were told... But when you bring a few vans full of crazy military peeps you served with, it was a bit crappy to realize it at arrival. The website is now updated. Came on a Thursday during a blazing hot week, and the 70°ish water was fantastic. A friend/local picked this place so here we are. Nice free parking across the street (always helpful to save some $). We didn't want to deal with bringing tubes so we just rented them. $20/ea is reasonable considering it's about 4h of time, so $5/hr basically. We didn't get a cooler tube. My one gripe is these tubes are not very big, which makes them a bit less comfortable than I'd have liked. I'm 5'11" and average size and I barely had my bum in the water. I knocked my head on a wall by the chutes because I was spilling out of the tube. The water level was a bit lower than usual (per some regulars) as I had to lift my bum out a few times to not scrape the floor. Also, make sure you have good river shoes/chacos/tevos/crocs - the floor has some jagged and loose rocks. Also - be cautious about walking through, the elevation changes quite frequently! We enjoyed our float using Landafalls on Memorial Day so much that we are heading back this 4th of July weekend with all of the family.

My 3 star review in no way has anything to do with the staff of Landa, they were excellent, it's only because the tubes that they supply are not made for average size human beings. We got there around 4:45- just barely made the 5:00 cutoff. We rented an extra tube for our ice chest, and then tied all 3 tubes together. It wasn't until we went to actually launch that we realized how small the tubes were. At first we thought maybe they gave us child sizes?? My boyfriend immediately flipped his tube trying to get in it (which I promise you was absolutely the best part of my trip and I wish I could project the mental image in slow motion for y'all- Landa thank you for giving me that life long memory hahaha), and then when he finally got in it he wasn't able to lay in it comfortably (neither was I), he ended up having to sit awkwardly the entire 2-3 hour float. And same for me- there just wasn't any room in the tube. It was like I borrowed one of my 10 year olds floaties. ....and then when we got to the first shoot, because the tube was so small, I got pulled under and had to get rescued by a dang lifeguard. A LIFEGUARD (which my boyfriend thought was really funny, so at least there's that), had to pull my swamp creature looking ass out of the water cause I was choking on my damn hair after getting caught underwater in the rapid. Other than literally almost dying and being super physically uncomfortable for the entire float, I'd do it again lmao. But next time I'm brining my own tube. read more

This tubing place is great- free shuttle (which most you pay extra for). They even take the locals card to save the $2. Everything is setup (to pay and get your tube) in the shade so you aren't sweating waiting. The river is just steps from where you get your tube. This really is the longest float on the Comal, as you get in right past the dam. Keep en eye out since the water doesn't flow a whole bunch in this area so you may either stay still or go the opposite direction with the wind. The tubes were blown up fully and had cup holders, which again have been issues with other outfitters. The shuttle we didn't even have to wait for. I would float here again. read more

Absolutely had a blast coming here. The parking isnt too bad, yes - you have to cross a little road that has a light but that is no biggie, it is not far away - its literally across the road. The staff is extremely nice and helpful. The tubes were comfortable and it was a no hassle trip. The river has some restrictions but that is the river not Lando Falls. We had time to go twice around. The views along the way peaceful. We did not notice a lot of drunks or parties going on. The shuttle - with AC - was there both times waiting and they loaded our tubes for us. Overall this was a very nice experience and we plan to go back a couple more times this summer if not more. Thank you! Staff was very friendly, they claim the longest Comal river tubing experience starts at Landa. I believe it took my group about four hours from start to finish. This is one of the outfitters I haven't tried. They pride themselves with "The longest float on the Comal." They are right. The first 20-30 minutes is quiet and peaceful because the next outfitter is pretty far away. When we got there, we were quickly helped out by two girls named Kennady and Maddie. They answered questions and were super helpful-and not fake!! They seem to enjoy their job (which I can only imagine some of the customers they help on a daily basis and add the heat). They were all smiles!! We end up purchasing a phone waterproof case!! Thanks for the suggestion ladies. It worked very well. Float was lovely. We rented two open bottom tubes that had handy drink holders! Prost! We also rented a tube for our cooler. We were offered a free disposable trash bag (the city thanks you) and string for tying up. After the float we quickly found signage for pick up. There was an empty air conditioned van waiting for us! Yay, no hot school bus like so many outfitters. Can't wait to float again. If you're looking to go tubing on the Comal then Landa Falls is the spot! This tubing outfitter provides ample parking, competitive prices and an easy launch spot. They also provide one of the longer tubing trips available on the Comal. Like many outfitters they provide bus transportation and the drivers are courteous and drive safely, which is most important. The tubes they rent are in good condition and we have never had a problem after multiple uses. Word to the wise, if you are tubing on a weekend, arrive early to avoid the crowds. What a great place to tube! This is a tube rental place right on the grounds of where they hold Wurstfest. There is plenty of parking that's in a private, gated lot so my car felt safe. We mistakenly rented too many tubes. Once we got them all inflated, and found that we'd rented two extra, they happily refunded the rental price! Nice! The place where you park is within easy walking distance of the river where you hop in. There's a ramp and stairs to get down there to the river. The staff here was friendly, and even took pictures for us while we posed with the tubes! The river ride was nice, and long. There's plenty of shade, and even a tube shoot along the river! This is the best place by far to start my tubing adventure. If you go Monday-Friday you can bring your own tube for a bit less than the regular fee. What do you get for this fee? Well, I'm glad you asked! It includes parking across the street, shuttle pick up at any public exit off the river (clearly identified). You can take as many trips that your little heart desires (long as you make the last shuttle pickup at 8pm from any pick up point). You also enjoy a covered check-in out of the sun, several port-a-pottys, friendly service, small lockers to store personal items, and overall a well run operation. Let's face it, some of these tubing rental facilities can feel like shanty town. Scenic views, train passing above on an old railway, a refreshing water spray to get you cooled off at the start. Several public parks in area and just overall pleasant surroundings. If you enjoy your tubing in Texas I say give this one a shot. read more

Landa is the only place I've rented from on the Comal. I can only say that we've had good service every time we've rented from them, their start point is very convenient and gives a long float, and parking has always been adequate. We've never had a long wait for a shuttle, either. We'll continue to use them. For our recent visit (Aug. 2012), they had eliminated the deposits on tubes. Update Aug. 2014: after two more years, still think Landa Falls is the best rental place on the Comal. Their rates are the same as the other major players on the river, but when you pass by some of the downstream rental places, you'll be reminded of that movie "World War Z" -- hordes. Have never had any problems with Landa, the shuttles are always there when we exit the river -- it just works. Get there right at 10 a.m. when they open to beat the crowds. read more

Landa Falls works out of a building on the Wurstfest grounds. It's the farthest upstream of any of the tube rental places, making it the longest float on the Comal River. The parking lot is very nice and seems to be secure. They offer regular tubes (yellow with handles and cup holders), tubes with bottoms, and cooler tubes. The rental process is quick and easy. There are two spots where you can get out of the river, and the shuttle bus will take you back to Landa Falls. The shuttle is included in the price of the tube rental, and you can make more than one run down the river if you like. For my money, Landa Falls is the only place to go if you want to tube the Comal. read more

This was my first Texas tubing experience and I'd have to say, it was pretty fun! I've been tubing before but in West Virginia ... It's different in Texas, probably because the river is narrow so there is a limit on how many tubes can be handed out per hour, per rental company. Yes this is a real rule. We had to wait 30 minutes for our tubes - not because they ran out but they had to space out their rentals as to not create "traffic". This is the longest trip on the Comal, we got in at 2pm and were back at our car just after 7pm. We had no idea we cut it so close; their shuttle ends at 8pm which is when they close. I would absolutely suggest coming earlier (like when they open!) - we got there just after 12:30, with the line and waiting to actually get a tube, you can see how much time was wasted. They don't allow your own tubes on Saturdays although I saw a few people hopping on the river with their own equipment. You may bring your own cooler tubes though, any day. They ran out of tubes w/ bottoms (to hold coolers) so my husband ran to Buc-ee's; by the time he got back we had our tubes and began to situate ourselves for the float ahead. Rental prices are similar to near by companies. Some parts of the river were really shallow, lift your butt! There are 2 "shoots" that get you to the 'lower level' of the river. They are fun but since every rental company uses the same route there is a major back up at each "shoot"; only 1 or 2 tubes can go down together so a line quickly forms. We had fun but were ready to be done at what was probably the 4th hour. We didn't get out of our tubes at all although there are spots where you can hang out. I'm glad we had snacks in our cooler, definitely bring something to nibble on. Cans are allowed, bring a trash bag - be kind to our environment! The first half of the river is 100% in the sun so bring SPF, later on the float we were in the shades, beautiful trees creating a canopy of shade... Greatly needed on a hot summer day! The water temp was perfect & refreshing. It's a calm trip other than the shoots but those are like a water park slide, nothing crazy. read more

Thanks for ruining Father's Day for our group. We researched our trip as well as we could and saw that they clearly say "NO PERSONAL EQUIPMENT" on the weekends. So we left our personal tubes and coolers at home. We got here at noon, only to see a sign saying that they were out of tubes and that there was a massive wait. So, banning personal tubes so that you can charge more, but yet run out of said tubes... awesome business practice. Even then, we decided to try and wait it out. After 45 minutes of total chaos and zero instruction on what to do in the 100 degree heat, we bailed. We took our now warm beer/water and melted bags of ice and headed to Texas Tubes, which was also a HUGE wait, but at least we knew what was going on there, and they allowed personal tubes. Never again. You lost many repeat customers this day. I know it was one of the busiest days of the year, but a little communication goes a long way. On the plus side, our running joke of the rest of the day was ending sentences with "Because f**k Landa Falls". read more

Billed as the "longest float on the Comal" I was appreciative of the free, expansive parking lot. While the line looked long, it moved rather quickly (spent maybe 10-15 minutes in line and it reached the water fountain/map area.) $15 for regular yellow tubes (which they ran out of) and $20 for bottomed tubes (black inner tire tubes with a piece of plastic tied on.) They gave us the tubes with the bottom for $15 since they were out of the cheaper option, which were a little awkward at first, but we were very thankful for on the occasional (one or two) bumpy shallow areas of the river. They had plenty of nylon rope to tie your mesh trash bag (also provided) to your tube, and to tie yourself to the friends that you want to stay with (which I recommend doing for all but the slide type things.) Whole float took about ~3 hours (get out the river at the last public exit) but the ride back was very quick -- had no problem getting my deposit back. I gotta say, it was a very spontaneous tubing trip, but everything concerning Landa Falls went smoothly. read more

Great experience on a Sunday. We arrived by 11:00 am and got free parking. I liked that it was the longest float down the Comal. After paying and getting your tubes, you walk down to the river and hop right in so there is no waiting for shuttles. You start off slow for about 30 minutes before you hit the main river chute. If you exit at the last river exit you walk up the stairs, cross the street and go left. The only cons are that the pickup stop doesn't have shade and that there are only portapotties instead of real bathrooms. Other than that, friendly staff and comfy tubes. read more
