Following on a message from Mike that he had taken over management of the company and had it running smoothly again, we took two kayaks out for a paddle on the Guadalupe. Our interactions with Outlaw River Rentals were indeed very smooth from drop off to pick up, everyone was friendly and professional, plus there was very helpful guidance about river conditions. This was the experience we had hoped for last year. No fault of ORR, the area is in the midst of a drought which meant drop off and pick up were from the boat ramp under the highway, because there is little current in the river. Upstream is nicer scenery but does require carrying the boat over a weir (small dam), while downstream the scenery was riverside suburbs (maybe more natural further downstream). In more normal conditions the trip involves drop off here but then riding the current downstream to a take out. There was mention of potential future drop off at Canyon Lake at what sounds like a very interesting area. read more

SCAM!!! NO STORE FRONT!! Extremely Unprofessional!!! Rent at your own risk!!! Few weeks back we paid and reserved for 5 double kayaks and 1 single kayak with Lisa at the Outlaw River Rentals. Payment was made via zelle, and reservations were complete. Drop off at Friday morning and pick up at Saturday evening, that was the total duration of the reservation, total cost with what were told deep discounts was $714.44. We talked on the phone and exchanged text message as they were very busy [What I was told]. Weather got pretty nasty and the river was absolutely dirty so we called and tried to cancel, didn't get a response, we sent a text message stating the request for cancellation and refund. It was accepted and the reservations were cancelled. On asking how the refund would take we were told 3-5 business days. Fast forward more than two week and I still have not heard from them. After several failed calls and text messages I have not heard back. If you are working with this company do it at your own risk. Read some more reviews after this incident and found out they have duped other folks too and have charged their credit cards multiple times.. So Lisa and Mike if you are reading this... let me just let you know what you did with us was extremely unprofessional and uncalled for! read more

What we thought would be a great birthday celebration turned out to something horrible. Wouldn't recommend at all. Waited over an hour and a half for the guy to bring us our kayaks when he was only 30 mins away. It was 11:30 and our appointment was at 10. It was the females fault for sending the dude to the wrong location. When booking the appointment I even said the new braunfels location.. I guess she thought that she hung up but she didn't and said "fucking bitch" on the phone. The first time I used them it was sketchy but easy and cool. The second time has ruined my birthday today.. and I won't ever be returning. These people probably won't even refund my money. The fact that she didn't even call back to apologize is ridiculous as well! read more

Excellent service. Easy and safe parking access. We got the double kayak. I love how simple they made everything for us and they did offer what they posted. We kayaked the whole river and had a great time! All for only fifty bucks for the both of us! That included vests, oar, shuttle, and kayak. Super deal! What an amazing experience. read more

Mike was awesome! This was the last day of our vacation during Covid and Mike went above and beyond to do everything he could for us under the circumstances- met us to pick up kayaks- making sure we had the right size kayaks and life vests for the kids, then we followed him in our own car to the drop in spot. WORST COMPANY EVER!! The owner is disrespectful irresponsible and disorganized. We arrived at the meet up location and where met with ladies who had no clue what to do and claimed weren't even employees but friends of the owner. We our selves had to un load kayaks and figure out the led lights , the company also did not have enough kayaks for our party of 14 that we payed for. The ladies who brought the Kayaks apologized and explained how our guide was arrested due to domestic violence and we would have to figure out how to turn on the light and where to go while on the River .When we called the owner to ask for help she was rude and was talking sh*t about us to whoever was with her . Instead of providing enough kayaks she told us to take turns and even mocked us for being worried about currents . I recorded everything because it was honestly unbelievable how a company could careless about their customers. No refund was given for the missing kayaks even when we refused to use them . read more

A+ for service and experience! Called this morning for rentals and within an hour, we were on the water. This company really has their system down. Easy to access and an absolutely perfect 2.5 hours on the water. Kayaks were in great shape and easy to access at the start. The parking at the end was a big plus. Super friendly staff. Worst experience ever! We reserved a kayak adventure with a group of 16. We were told to arrive at 11am, and at 12 am I asked what was taking so long. I noticed they had one guy loading up our kayaks, so we were going to volunteer and help to speed up the process. The owner snapped and said that we can cancel your reservation and you can go home. So after calming her down and continuing to go on our adventure and driving to the river. She got upset again and turned around to drop us off. . We wasted an hour of our life with this terrible company that doesn't know how to run a business. Please be aware and book with someone else. They were so rude that I decided to give a review, which I never do. read more
