Almost everything I've tried there is pretty good but the prices have gone insanely high. I am completely aware of inflation. What a great experience my wife and I had while celebrating my birthday with lunch at Rocking K. The atmosphere, food and service were spectacular. We had the potato skins for an appetizer and split the Pot Roast sandwich. I had a Side Car cocktail and a complementary piece of Lemon Cream pie. Everything was delicious. Disappointment at Rocking K Ranch Took my wife out to Rocking K Ranch to give them a try. She had the Prime Rib Special, I had the Mushroom and Swiss Burger. Nothing tasted right, except her (lumpy) Mashed Potatoes. My side was Battered Fries, but why batter them with unseasoned batter? Her Prime Rib was dry, under (un?) seasoned, and had a weird stale flavor. The little cup of jus was super salty, and no way dripped off the dry Prime Rib on her plate. Prime Rib should be juicy and flavourful. My Burger had a meager layer of mushrooms under a slice of Swiss Cheese. The Burger itself was dry, not juicy. It compares poorly against the Portobello Char at the Habit, which is smaller, but much tastier. The food, such as it was, came out quickly. The place looks nice, plenty of outside slices of trees and bark on planks. The music could have been less loud. I can't imagine going back. read more

The service was great. I tried the buffalo wings and the loaded potato wedges for appetizers and they were wonderful. My entree though, did not impress. I ordered the classic bacon cheeseburger cooked medium with extra lettuce. The presentation was great, it looked like a stacked, juicy, cheesy well put together burger, but actually eating it was not a pleasant experience. The overload of juices coming from the melted cheese, patty, and thousand sauce was too much for the buns so they got all super soggy. It was hard to hold as the soggy bread collapsed in your hands, the texture of soggy bread in your mouth when eating a burger is also not very pleasant or appealing. It was falling apart and was a mess to eat. It was a less than ideal burger eating experience. Other then that the fries tasted good and were nice and crunchy. The apple pie we got after was also pretty good. Overall, the visit was alright, the service was good, and the appetizers were great, by far the best thing during the visit for me. Celebrated a family member's birthday here and our entire party of 6 was more than happy with the experience! The restaurant itself is beautiful; it has a cozy wooden interior that compares to something you'd expect to see in big bear or mammoth. The decorations throughout were thoughtful and the bar was absolutely gorgeous! Upon entering, the host greeted us immediately and sat us right away. Our server was attentive, friendly, and delivered everything with a smile! Finally, the food was delicious! We had meatloaf, burgers, seafood pasta, chicken strips, onion rings and the fried pickles. Everything, including the complimentary cornbread muffins was more than wonderful. We were stuffed, and decided to take a pie home (looking forward to trying that tomorrow). When this restaurant opened it had a really bad reputation. But I took my Mom there anyway to enjoy a holiday about a year and a half ago. It didn't go well. Unfriendly staff, inattentive management, slow service, order was wrong. You name it. However my Mom has heard things have turned around so we went for Mothers Day on Saturday (May 13, 2023) evening to beat the crowds. Wow! A 180 degree turn! Present management, fast friendly service. Great food, that was hot (unlike last time) and the people that worked there all seemed to be happy. I would like to name a few people that made our visit so enjoyable. " Great Food, Great Servers, Great Decorations " I took my wife on her Birthday to Rocking K Ranch restaurant in Hemet, CA, for the first time ever. The restaurant had some of the nicest western decorations which makes you feel like you are back in the Cowboy country again. Pedro our server was so bubbly nice and answered all of our questions nicely. The food we ordered was so delicious. To start our meal we had Crispy Brussel Sprouts which were so good. We then ordered a 12 oz Ribeye Steak with a Baked Potatoe and a Ceasar Salad for my wife. I ordered the St. Louis Ribs and Shrimp Combo with a Baked Potatoe and Onion Rings. Both of these meals were A+ in looks and taste. We also ordered Grey Goose Dirty Martini's, which were also very tasty. I was so impressed by this restaurant ! And two managers Luis and Travis both came by to make sure our meals were very good for us. Really comfortable place. We were seated by Avalon who was very friendly and professional. We had a couple of Elysian Space Dust beers and a Poke and chips appetizer. The beer was very cold and the Poke was so good we had a second one. I ordered the Ribs and grilled shrimp combo. The ribs were very tender and the shrimp was extremely plump and juicy. Okay so I tried the pulled pork and it was okay. I was expecting more traditional PULLED pork whereas the sandwich just more so had chunks of rib meat instead of pulled. Lots of fatty bites. I tired the burger from my friend and it was a much better choice over the pork sandwich. BUT, the best part, which made me write this review, was the double cream peach pie. Wow! Incredible find on Yelp again! We ordered the poke nachos as an appetizer. SO good! We had the green salad and a wedge salad both with tri tip on top. The tri tip was a meal on its own! We were so happy that this place opened up and have come here many times. We generally like the food and the service is always good (shout out to Jerry). This time, though, I don't think we will ever come back. We came for prime rib at 5pm and were told they were low and only had well done. So, we ordered other items. One steak was inedible--it was not only literally all muscle and fat to the point where there was hardly any meat and unable to be cut, but it was also completely raw in the middle. Cold, blue, raw. Our waiter was wonderful and apologized and took it back. I literally have never sent food back in my life. It would've been great there, except that the manager took a break from chatting with a table that he was talking to the whole time instead of working and came by and he was an utter jerk. He said he would take care of it "this one time" as a courtesy but condescendingly just said that's how the steaks are and you should know that when you order that cut. No awareness of the miss cooking and no awareness of quality control. When I said it was because of the raw center he said "well I don't know anything about that," and reiterated he'll fix it "this one time." His smarmy attitude was disgusting; fix your mistake and apologize or stand by your poor quality of food, but don't come and be condescending and rude and make it out that you are doing a favor. We were celebrating my father who specifically requested to go here, and it ruined the evening. So we were so excited to come and eat here. I must say the atmosphere in the restaurant is a 10 but the actual food and prices are... a little ridiculous. We went to have Happy Hour. Something that always lures us into the restaurant. We ordered two appetizers a sampler platter and an order of 3 beef sliders. So let's start with the sample platter. Pretty much all fried food (which is great. No issues with fried food) but the happy hour sampler price was 17. The plate looked...okay...fried pickles (good), onion rings (good but cold also I'm pretty sure frozen), potato wedges (double fried and dry) and only 3 wedges, and the chicken strips were basically like nuggets (definitely frozen...like possibly Tyson). Ultimately we felt disappointed. The sliders were honestly worse. We got 3 beef and the bread tough. The Pattie's themselves were overcooked and dry. No toppings. I needed pickle. I had to smother it in ketchup to eat it. Ultimately we left just super defeated. We looked at the full menu and really felt like it was overpriced. $25 for a stroganoff? $22 for meatloaf? You also think the salad prices are okay but then you realize it's because you haven't added protein. I will say the alcohol on happy hour prices were okay. Average $4 beer. Let's not forget I'm in Long Beach but work in Anaheim so I'm like at least 10 minutes closer so I say ok. I talk my buddy into a road trip to save time and we are on our way. So we take care of the problem my sister had then sit in the drive looking for spots to try. My buddy is more of a stake house guy then myself buddy this is what he found.so we go he got the stake and didn't mind it didn't finish it either said it had a good flavor though. I wasn't that hungry so I opted on the ham and cheese sandwich that comes with lettuce pickles and thousand island dressing if you know me you know there were no pickles on my sandwich. Funny thing the starter was Fried pickles you have to choose flavors that match. The staff was nice they sat us upon entering the place but after that it took about ten minutes to get our drinks then another fifteen for the starter the food took another 20 minutes and then came out the hole time I think I I two waters. The water kept explaining that he had two large tables and he was doing his best. I suppose so it's not like it was over the top bad so I would give him a pass at one point he had another waiter bring the food and dinner so maybe help each other out a little more team work make the dreams over all if in the area I'll try it again. read more
