My 2010 Honda Fit had 187,000 miles on it and had been stalling in the cold for the better part of 3 years. Martin at the service desk kept me in the loop every step of the way. Having dealt with less than trustworthy dealers in the past, I was a bit apprehensive about going through the experience again. However, upon entering the building we were greeted warmly by John Desrochers and Michael Quigley. Both of them quickly put my preconceived experience to rest. Michael was very friendly and knowledgeable about the Honda, wasn't pushy at any time and I actually enjoyed negotiating with him. He took his time explaining some of the cars features and never hurried our test drive. For buying a new car, I thought it was fine here. For service, I'll not go back. I bought a brand new odyssey from here in Feb. The buying experience was actually ok. We purchased some additional features (trailer hitch and roof rack) and had to bring it back to have those installed. The appt was for 9 AM and was supposed to be done well before we were leaving on a long trip to visit friends in NY. It was finished at around 4 PM which was an hour after we had planned to leave (to avoid traffic). They had assured me it would be done by 2:00 to give time to be able to pack up before leaving. That left me with a not the best experience. After getting a registration to replace the temp plates I found that my registration was through 2020, but the inspection was to 2019. So, I went back to get it updated to match my registration (mind you the inspection on the brand new vehicle was done 2 weeks prior). They said I'd have to pay for it to be re-inspected. Nope, no thank you. You've lost a customer. Over $20. You guys failed customer service 101. read more

This is the best car buying experience I have ever had!!! Our sales person, Ali Salah, was very professional, knowledgeable and actually cares about his customers. He offered us water or anything to drink. He felt bad that we had to wait for the person to do our paperwork because he was busy. So he went out and bought us smoothies!!! What???? So thoughtful!!! When we picked up the car he took so much time with us to go over the vehicle. He opened the hatchback and there was a very small line of pollen. He apologized and said he would have that cleaned up right away. I told him it was fine and he said "no, you're buying a brand new car and it needs to look like a brand new car". He called me the next day to see how I liked the vehicle and if I had any questions or issues. I will 100% buy my next car here and I hope Ali still works there. Also, while we were waiting for a sales person (it was crazy busy there), at least 3 people asked us if we wanted water or anything to drink. This place takes customer service to another level!!! As you can tell by their comment on my review they really do not care or pay attention, calling me Chris despite very obviously seeing my name is Matt for starters. But also trying to justify their bad service because I had already bought a car somewhere else. Let me assure you I have given this dealership every chance. Before buying a Dodge I attempted to buy again through swapping my lease at this dealership, after over an hour waiting they were unable to provide me a price on their Honda accord. After buying the Dodge I attempted to turn in my lease for the Honda I bought at the dealership and an extremely rude individual Gabe accused me of replacing the rear bumper and lying about it (despite myself never having done any body work whatsoever on the car). The biggest issue I have with my most recent trip is they made me wait over an hour to turn in my lease and then came over and said they can't do anything until I get it checked by the leasing company first. It would have been amazing to know that at the beginning of my visit, when I told them this is my first stop and I want to see what needs to be done. Again, extremely bad dealership that feels more like a 1970s used car dealership than a Honda dealership. Do not expect continued service after buying your car here, they want your money and will lie/say anything to get it then toss you out the door. read more

I was at a tire shop in Salem, NH about to have my tires changed until they realized that I did not have the special key to take off the lug nuts. I called over to Rockingham Honda dealership and they said they could help me out. They took my car right into their service shop, removed the lug nuts (which were way too tight by the way and could have broken off causing a lot more trouble if they didn't carefully remove them). They replaced them with non locking lug nuts at my request and sent me on my way....with no charge. What amazing customer service. The staff went way above my expectations. read more

Wow! Where to begin? We had some of the best customer service we've ever had here. We have tried other dealerships that are significantly closer to our home and had appallingly poor customer service. We drive all the way from Lowell to Rockingham because they take such good care of their customers here. We arrived early, and since some of the staff were there early, too, they went ahead and started on our car and arranged for a shuttle to take us to a nearby restaurant for breakfast. Ok, this is a 2 part review. I went in last week to buy a used car. The sales experience I got was excellent (sorry, it was good). The service department was questionable. First sales...I was horrified that my friend and I stood on the lot for over 30 minutes, looking at the car I wanted. It was right in front so we weren't hiding. NO ONE came out to ask if we had questions. I worked in a chain of dealerships for years. If no salesperson had approached a customer, I would have been furious! This is now a dealership without commissions. I was kind of impressed with that but less so with the fact that there's now no impetus for salespeople to work. After 30 minutes (and a thorough look at the car), we went inside and picked a guy who was standing, talking to a bunch of other employees. He was fine, he was the sales manager so he wouldn't help us but he found someone. Carlos did a good job as sales person, gave me a test drive, handled all the paperwork, arranged the sale. I think they must be terribly understaffed. It took such steps to get a salesperson, we agreed to a deal, and then it was over 90 minutes to see the finance guy (thank goodness he's not included in this review. It would have seriously decreased the number of stars). So here's the thing, we went in knowing which car I wanted. I knew the price. I just wanted a quick test drive and was ready to pay cash for it and be done. Despite that, it still took me well over 4 hours. I'm diabetic so by the time we got done, I was shaky and loopy and had no idea what was going on. We went straight to McDonalds to fuel me up. I returned after the weekend to get my car. I had been Very Specific that I would not accept a car with advertising on it, unless they were going to pay me for that service. I got there and guess what...there's a logo graphic on the back of my car and license plate rims with the logo. Are You Kidding Me??? So Carlos took the car to service to have them removed. Then we sat around for a while. I had the check ready for them, we were all agreed on the deal. It was effectively all done, why did I again have to wait for the finance guy??? I should have been out the door! But no, we had to wait. Finally a guy came to get the check, signed a couple of papers, service brought the car around and I left. Guess what...the logos are still on my car! FFS!!! Why? That was the ONLY reason it was in service! What did they do back there? Oh, I got All Weather floor mats in my car, which service put in. But wait! I got a driver's mat and a back seat mat...but the passenger mat is carpet. Huh? Floor mats come as a set! How could this happen? Was the passenger mat defective? And didn't anyone notice? No one thought to bring it to the service manager's attention? So, I started writing this review with 5 stars. Then I reduced it to 4 stars, as I listed the problems. Then I reduced it to 3 stars! And that's where it would stay except that I love my car. So 4 stars it is. In short, hire more people, especially finance people. Or hire more efficient finance people. Hire some sales people, or even greeters, to smooth the process. There is no earthly reason for it to take so long. As for the service department, fire every damned one of them! The work they did on my car was laughable. read more

The receptionist had no idea who to transfer me too and said "I don't know anything, I'm just a receptionist". Well, now I know not to buy a car here again as they don't value former customers. Two words: stay away. We leased a Honda two years ago and purchased a service contract. We were told that the only thing we would have to pay for is gas. Every time I go in for service I am told nothing is covered but oil changes. When I got a survey from service they asked if I was happy I replied no and I explained the situation about the service contract. That was back in the spring and we have never heard from anybody. Then the sales manager Dave writes to us and asks us if we were thinking about getting a new Honda when the lease was up. I told him about the service contract issue and he said he would get us answers. This was early June. I have written to him twice since then and have still received no response. read more

My first (and last) time ever going to Rockingham Honda. Had my car in for an oil change and the technician forgot to put the screws back on the plastic cover under my car. On my way to my vacation, the piece fell down and was scraping on the highway until I duct taped it back to the bottom of the car. Brought the car back a couple of days later and the service manager apologized and gave me a free oil change. Waited almost an hour and a half before they tell me they don't have the parts, and to bring it back in another day. In the meantime they said they had secured the piece temporarily - it fell off my car within two days of driving. The piece cracked, and the dealership now had to replace the screws and the plastic piece. Called to make sure they had the parts in before heading over, and also asked them to perform an engine and cabin air filter service. Charged me $100 for something I later found out was $15 and $20 and parts... the service is literally just swapping a piece in the back of the glove compartment and snapping a small piece into place. Anyone could perform this in less than five minutes. Asked if for all of the trouble (3 visits for an oil change + a lot of time securing the broken piece on the side of the highway) if they'd be willing to help me with the price of the filters, and they said no. I paid full price just to get the heck out of there. Never going back again. My friend can take my free oil change. Good customer service means going above and beyond for your customer. Rockingham Honda has proven they have no ability to do this. Don't go here if you're looking for a great experience. read more

I was a repeat (3x) customer who went to buy a car from RH this past winter. My car needs had changed and was in need of an economical vehicle for a longer commute. I wanted to buy local and do business locally. To say the process was painful and littered with mistakes/errors/misses is an understatement. I actually ended up putting the plates back on my trade and leaving the dealership!! They actually let me walk- this due to an utter incompetence and inability to prep the car properly for sale. Tire pressures were not checked and the battery not replaced (this was agreed to). Barely a wash and vacuum? No. Tire pressure is a basic safety check! I won't get into details here as there are far too many and this review would be pages long but I urge consumers to be their own champions and CHECK a dealer's work. Anyone can sell a car and transfer paperwork but it takes real effort to listen and ACT on behalf of a customer. Something Rockingham Honda failed to do not once, but multiple times during our interaction. I did go to a competitor and did better than I would have at RH, so it did work out in the end but the experience has definitely turned me off from even considering doing business with them again. read more

They immediately sent a tow truck, and brought the car in to diagnose. Turns out it was a broken fuel pump (very unusual for a new Honda). They ordered parts and fixed it in less than one day, and gave us a rental car in the meantime. Everything was covered under warranty. Ryan was friendly and professional every step of the way. Just bought a CRV and the experience was excellent. The showroom is beautiful, clean and bright so the first impression was very positive. Miguel helped my sister in law and gave her a pretty fair price right off the bat which was nice to see. She was torn between the RAV4 and the crv and since both dealerships are next door to each other, we went into the Honda showroom first since my sis in law said she enjoyed her initial experience with them so much. We worked with Sheila and Miguel and they were, as the other reviewers noted, very polite and friendly. I had done my research and Miguel was well informed on the vehicle and how it compared to others in the class. They truly went above and beyond to make sure she was happy and got a very fair price on her new car. Worst dealership ever bunch of liars and not so intelligent individuals purchased a brand new 2019 Honda Accord sport model before the purchase I noticed a bunch of scratches on the paint of my soon to be new car the sales guy Joey was decent he assured me they would take care of this issue in a week because there body person was on vacation I agreed took it back car was there at the dealer for 4 days they called me to pick it up the car was dirty and cleaner when I dropped it off was told by the manager Edwin that they didn't owe me a car wash and to leave before he was gonna be forced to call the cops because I was upset I told him to get me another manager with better customer service skills he almost cried and said I'm the only one here so I asked for paperwork for the work they did they didn't have any so I left I get home and start cleaning the car and I notice my passenger rear rim was damaged I called the dealership right away and told them what happened keep in mind my car still has the scratches that were supposed to have been fixed the manager said he would look into it and call me back he did they wanted my car again agreed to fix everything wrong so I left it and got a phone call saying my car was ready so I went and picked it up this time the issues were corrected and I was happy I'm driving home and my low tire indicator goes off I pull over check the tires and none are low from what I can see I pulled into a gas station and checked my tire pressure on all 4 tires the rim they repaired the tire had only 15 pounds of air they never filled it to the proper inflation keep in mind this is a Honda dealer doing this sloppy work they only agreed to fix my car because I called corporate and they do not care after you sign the dotted line don't do business with these knuckleheads they are not professionals by any means I'm now having a issue with my trunk not closing properly I tried calling the dealer even set up a service appointment online and they have not called me back and when I call I'm told nobody is available by the secretary bad business and they are awful do yourself a favor and don't go there unless you wanna be lied to they should all be ashamed of themselves read more

When purchasing my vehicle (a used vehicle they were selling), and purchasing their 36,000 mile warranty, the salesperson (Brad) reassured me that if I needed to bring my vehicle in for an oil change or regular scheduled maintenance, it would be covered, so I agreed to purchase. Now here I am, for my oil change, to be informed that this is in fact not covered, because they don't offer a maintenance warranty for used, non-Honda vehicles, which I was not informed of when purchasing this warranty I thought covered such. I've never been so such an misleading, unprofessional, dishonest dealership. I know the game of sales as I have worked in them for years, but never would I tell a customer or client they were getting something they were not. I checked out Commonwealth Motors, in Lawrence, MA, AutoFair Honda, in Manchester, NH, The Honda Barn, in Stratham NH and Ernie Boch Honda in Norwood, MA, and of course Rockingham Honda, in Salem, NH.
