This was the worst experience I have had at any dealership ever. I went in ready to buy a car and everyone there, the manager and salesmen were so rude. My husband asked for a price of a car and one of the salesman looked at him and said the exact words "why do you want to know?" I own a business and would never treat a customer this way. These guys were treating our business as if it was a joke to them. It was embarrassing. If you do go here, which you absolutely shouldn't, Alex is nice. This review is for the Service dept. at 495 Mazda. Nothing but praise. First time going there and I must say, I was really, really impressed. Everyone so friendly, welcoming, helpful! Relaxed friendly environment. Had an issue with the soft roof on my Miata. Some rivets popped off and a bracket got bent out of shape. Everyone around me said "Don't take it to the dealer, it'll be too expensive, they won't try to fix it, they'll say you need to replace the roof, engine, tires and antenna"... Boy, were they all wrong! 495 Mazda DID fix it, and they fixed it right! And the final bill was very, very reasonable. It would have definitely cost way more if I took it to the local mechanic. Had an interesting experience here after accidentally choosing it over another Mazda dealer to get warranty work done. The only things keeping me from giving one star is the service advisors Jonathan and Paul. They were very nice, and treated me well. The dealer also fessed up and repaired their damage to my vehicle, but not after having a civil argument. I had to ask for paperwork since I didn't get it and when I picked up my car after a week, one of the rims was scratched down to the metal. This happened when the car was at the dealer, and the head of the service department (Rob I think?) tried to blame me and argued that I did it "intentionally". He also tried to make it seem like I was targeting the technician who did the work to my car, but that's far from the truth as I am very happy with the warranty work done apart from my damaged rim. None of the other three rims had bare metal or heavy scratches and I take care of all of my vehicles religiously. This dealer even showed me pictures of my car that they took themselves before the warranty work was done and you could see the rims were all pristine, which really screwed their attempt to blame me. Rob even tried to beg me to pay $150 for the rim repair, even though I didn't damage my wheel since I had a loaner car for a week! I had to literally threaten leaving multiple one star reviews, filing a claim and/or lawsuit with the Better Business Bureau (BBB), and contacting Mazda's U.S. Headquarters to put a complaint in. Once I got to this point, he finally said they'd repair the wheel free of charge based on "good faith". The only "good faith" in this situation was when I brought my car here before it was damaged. Thankfully this repair was done well and I'm satisfied, but I will not be coming back here. read more

I started searching for a new car about 6 months ago and hadn't given mazda a thought before a friend strongly suggested I visit a mazda dealership. The only reason I popped into 495 Mazda is because it happened to be close to where I was working for the week and I am so glad that I did. The manager, Peter, and salesman/finance specialist, Chris, took me seriously (a young female, alone), without ever giving me any impression that they wanted to swindle me into buying a car on the spot or blowing me off because I was young and broke. Chris made sure to ask key questions about what I REALLY wanted and was open to test-driving whichever cars I thought I would be interested in- even if he knew I would rule them out right away. Chris has years of experience but never tried to exclusively push Mazda without shedding some positive light on the other cars brands I was considering and helping me realistically weigh the options. After test-driving I sat down with Chris and Peter and they simply asked me what I thought about the car and recognized the fact that I had stated, from the minute I walked into the dealership, that I wouldn't be purchasing a car for another 1-2 months. They never discussed specific price, monthly payments, interest rates and that's what has made all the difference in my car search. I never felt any pressure, in fact, Chris and Peter educated me on what some good and bad options might be. They warned me that my ideal car might be out of my range, that I should look into CPO, that I should wait to see if Parchment Leather is really worth it. The manager, Anthony, had sold the car to a friend and it was garaged as an occasional sports car, then resold to him with 4500 miles. Both the first owner and I are delighted. I have a 2016 Mazda6. I have visited Lannan Mazda 4 times so far, and I am extremely satisfied from the service department. Even though I moved to a location significantly farther and I have nearby other Mazda services, I prefer to come here from a 20 miles destination. The service consultant, Paul Deziel, is doing a great job personally. However, I believe the underlying reason the service is so great is that the organization is perfect. First of all, it is never flooded, they do good job in distributing customers over time schedule. That ensures every customer receives enough attention. I never had any delay in delivery of my car. Paul is never coming with unnecessary service recommendations to upsell. That helps to establish trust with customers, and I know that if he proposes a service, it is likely necessary. Previously I had a Toyota. The attention paid to customers, the condition of waiting room is incomparable to Mazda. The service consultants were always coming up with unnecessary, bumped up service proposals to rip off money. Finally, thanks to Paul Deziel and the organization brain team who are allowing this good experience for a very reasonable cost. read more

A Miata was on my short list when I recently shopped for a new car. I also tried a Jag F ... didn't like it at all. I then contacted Commonwealth to check out the 124. Entering the showroom, I told the sales manager why I came. He told me to have a seat and someone might get to me. After about 15 minutes, some discheveled guy toting dealer plates grunted at me. The salesperson admitted he knew "nothing" about Fiat's, was totally disinterested in me and believe it or not, didn't even get my name or copy my driver's license. I loved the 124 but found the seat a bit uncomfortable. I asked if it were adjustable or if there were seat options. The salesperson didn't know and didn't care to find out. Then I drove to Lannan and had just the opposite experience. I was greeted warmly, had a very knowledgable sales person (who owned a Miata himself) and like the 124, really loved the car. On the Miata however, I found the seats comfortable. I had a Mini on lease with four months to go. No problem. They took the Mini and gave me an excellent price on the Miata. I didn't have to bargain at all. Delivery was fast and pleasant. Finance was a breeze with zero pressure to opt for any other packages. I HIGHLY recommend this dealership. read more

This is for the sales department. I went in to test drive a CX-5 just to see what's out there on the market for when I need a new car. I worked with Aaron, who was amazing. I explained my situation and that I wasn't sure when I'd be buying one, but he still went through the whole car with me, answered all of my questions, took me on a great test drive, and told me all the fun things most people don't know. The best part was he didn't pressure me to buy it or pressure me at all. Beyond terrible service at this place. My boyfriend and I went to check out the new CX -5 after researching it for a few weeks. We found the dealer to be less than knowledgeable about the vehicle, during the test drive correcting him on more than half of his stats was rather embarrassing but whatever, it drove nicely. Luckily (for them) the car sold itself so it was easy enough to look beyond the not so impressive service right off the bat. About 2 days after taking the car home, we noticed that the driver's side seat had a rip in the back. Since this was a brand new car, you'd think that the dealership would be not only embarrassed, but completely accommodating to get the seat fixed ASAP. To our dismay, it took 2 weeks of calling them nonstop, being hung up on and ignored until finally they agreed to take the car in and fix it on the spot. Lannan Mazda of Lowell is no hop, skip, and a jump away from where we live.. so as long as they were willing to fix it on the spot, it was worth the 45 minute commute out there. Upon arrival, the person whom we spoke to on the phone was conveniently not in yet, so they were unable to start working on the car because apparently communication between employees at this business is not a priority. HOORAY, so now the wait begins for a rental car from Enterprise. Two hours later, the drive to work in a disgusting, dirty rental car with an almost empty gas tank seems like the best thing about the day. Trusty Lannan Mazda promises to call once the car is complete "some time in the early afternoon" so we can drive all the way back out there, return the car at Enterprise, and then get a ride over to the dealership. Fast forward 4.5 hours and it's now 3:30pm with no word from them. Since they don't have the best track record at getting back to us, we call ourselves to check in. Sure enough, the car is done and ready to be picked up. Rush hour traffic isn't necessarily their fault, but sitting in it for an extra hour certainly doesn't help their case when they were supposed to have it done much earlier. Anyways, moral of the story - buy your Mazda anywhere else. read more

I scheduled a test drive and auto appraisal at 495 Mazda. My appointment was at noon. As soon as I arrived I told Alex Marangoni that I needed to be out by 12:50pm to go pick up my son. While I test drove the car they were going to look at my current car as a possible trade in. After the drive we got back to the dealership and we chatted a bit and looked at a couple of other options. 10 minutes before I had to go I told him I needed to leave soon. He seemed completely fine with it. I asked if they can send the info via email or if we could do a skype call. He said we could figure something out. When he came back, he was asking if we could schedule a time for me to go back to look over the numbers because "it's easier to go over in person". I explained that I have kids (I'm a single mom) and I wouldn't be able to go over until a week from the day. He kept commenting "you are telling me you don't have time" and "if you had time now" like he was bothered and implying I was making up the fact that I had to go. The part of the conversation alone made the whole experience at the dealership a negative one. The inability to accommodate or be flexible especially these days says a lot. I left with no information. If you need flexibility or someone to be more understanding, I DO NOT recommend 495 Mazda, or at least Alex Marangoni as the your advisor. read more

I recently received a Mazda Safety Recall Notice and when I gave Lannan a wide open schedule to make the recall fix plus do a brake job and perform the safety inspect they said they could not guarantee that they could provide me with a loaner car regardless of how far out I scheduled the day long service. I bought a '13 MX-5 from them and the sales experience and price were pretty good. I recently needed extensive work done to the car (long, ugly story) and they were very accommodating. I had some custom parts that needed to be replaced and there were huge delays getting those in. Paul in the service department worked with me to make sure the car was well cared for and finished promptly as soon as the parts got in. Very knowledgeable guy and easy to work with...consistently called with updates at the repair progressed. The car was not in great shape when it went in, but is driving perfectly now...I was nervous about the amount of work being done and whether the car would come back the same, but so far I haven't noticed any ill effects at all. Very good experience working with a dealer. I have had both positive and negative experiences having dealers do work on my cars in the past, but this one was very positive. I have had two interactions with Lanaan Mazda. Neither was perfect, but they were in the realm of good enough for a car dealer that I would continue to do business with them. I purchased an MX-5. That went pretty smoothly. We were able to agree on a price quickly (400$ above invoice). The only bump in the road was when I wanted to test drive the car before purchasing. They wouldn't allow it saying people want 0 miles on the odometer of a sports car. Eventually I convinced them to let me test drive it if I showed up with a bank check for the purchase amount. I got the car I wanted at the price I wanted which is the point of the entire exercise, and realistically I needed to come bank with the bank check anyways so it didn't cost me any extra time. I had the mirror assembly on my MX-5 repaired after the cap was knocked off in a parking lot and some of the internal clips were broken. There was another minor issue where they ordered the mirror as well even though the existing mirror was undamaged. They later told me they do that in case the mirror cracks during removal so they can finish the repair immediately which makes perfect sense. But the tech never attempted to reuse my existing mirror and just put the new one on. I caught it when I saw that there were two part numbers ordered and only one of them was the assembly that needed replacing. When I brought it to the service manager (Alex) he took the old mirror and refunded the cost of the new one. Mistakes happen and it's how they are handled that is important to me. IMO businesses that handle mistakes poorly do so because they intend to make a lot of them! That's why I am here writing a 5 star review. read more

I went in to lease a Mazda6 after having left Mazda Gallery in Norwood since they were unprofessional and insulting. I was greeted by Pierre who is an extremely professional and courteous sales person. I said I wanted to test drive a Mazda6 Touring model and he grabbed some keys, pulled up the vehicle and let me have at it without hesitation. Afterwards we talked and decided on price and plans for less than an hour before we settled on a deal that was satisfactory for both of us. I have purchased/leased 3 different vehicles within the last 10 years and this was by far the most memorable, painless and amicable experience I have ever had. I didn't feel like a sleazy sales person was trying to take advantage of me. I felt like they cared and were understanding. The car with the exact specifications I wanted was not in the dealership but Pierre promised to get it to the dealership within 2 days and told me I would be driving away with plates, registration and all the paperwork within 2 days. He was correct and I am extremely happy with the service and the purchase. Everyone I met at the dealership was pleasant, professional and definitely cared about the customer experience not just the numbers (although they do give great deals). Used to be better I purchased a new 2012 Mazda 5 thru Elliot at Lannan. That part went mostly fine because I did the purchase deal online. The first few years of Service went fine. Their Service department was good. With the past year or so though, I've had some issues. First may be related to the Mazda 5 no longer being sold. Well, Mazda is no longer keeping all the parts for this car. I needed a replacement Brake fluid cover. sorry - we don't have that in stock was Service reply. so I had to find one via the internet. Next was muffler work - oh sorry, that one's not in stock either, not sure when it will arrive. Luckily they were able to fix the problem with ingenuity - so kudos. Now my left rear heat shield has failed. Parts was very helpful in ordering the parts, but when I arrived today, the dealer reports that Mazda sent the wrong part. Great. So i have to make another trip. There seems to be a problem with parts, and as i said, maybe it's my model. But they charge me like 70-80$ for an oil change, which I got done at another dealer for 50$. synthetic. All these little things are adding up to make me wonder if it's time to look for another dealer to maintain my car as it gets older and more issues will crop up. The people are nice. They are helpful and prompt. But the overall experience is now middle of the road. read more

The Lannan service department was very proactive in reaching out to remind me to arrange for the regular service. A month ago, I realized that no one from Lannan had reached out. Call and find out that A) Lannan had been sold. B) All my service records were gone. (I was told to find my receipts if I wanted to have proof of regular service) I asked how much a minor repair would cost to be performed at my next visit. The car was waiting for us right out front when we arrived, we test drove it, asked questions, and negotiated on price. Ultimately we did not buy the car because we could not get it for the price we wanted, but we had an amicable experience and would recommend this dealer based on their courtesy. The service folks at Lannan are pretty straight shooters and have done thorough, honest, and quick (!!!) jobs for us on multiple occasions. I would definitely recommend the service department. Alas, as with every car dealer ever, their kids area is gross and sad. And the baby changing table is installed a strange and back-breaking 18" off the floor. I recently bought a 2015 Mazda 6 from Sam Gordon at Lannon. Everything went smoothly from start to finish. Sam was friendly, knowledgeable, not at all pushy, and gave me a reasonable price that was $200 lower than a competitor right from the start. When I requested a manual transmission in a specific color, he got it for me without any pressure to buy the car they had on the lot instead, and he held it until I could get in a few days later. There were no surprise charges, no bait and switch on the interest rate for financing. Based on my experiences with other dealers, I kept waiting for a nasty surprise, but I never got one. I was very happy with Sam, Barbara, and everyone else I met at Lannan. They really seem to take customer satisfaction seriously. And I absolutely love the car. read more
