Clean, inviting, and friendly service. Never leave without a smile on my face and my stomach being happy. I have never craved ice cream more in my life then after having Rocko's. Their ice cream is better than Ben and Jerry's. The owners are the sweetest and best perk is if you visit nicks pizza next door you get 10% off your ice cream it's so awesome. Have to try their açaí bowls such a great alternative to ice cream and has so many benefits! Great value for what you get in a bowl! So many options everyone can be happy here. The fruit is fresh and the açaí base is so tasty. Have had an array of ice creams especially love their selection of topping choices. My favorite being crushed m and ms. You have to try their pirates bounty ice cream! It is like an ice cream sandwich but better. Their rich and famous flavor is like a cookie dough brownie sundae in each scoop. I really liked this ice cream place! I've wanted to stop in here for a while as I live pretty close by but it was closed for the winter. We decided to try it last night since it had just opened and I was pleasantly surprised. The interior was adorable and it was pretty interesting that they had tvs and gaming for those interested. A cute local neighborhood place for kids to hang out. My brother and I both got the pirate's bounty which was caramel flavor ice cream with m&m's and oreo cookies and it was wonderful. A small cup is just enough and the price was great too. Definitely recommend if you're in the area. read more

Rocko's is a local Fanwood gem. The ice cream is delicious, particularly the chocolate peanut butter ribbon. I recently ordered an ice cream cake and couldn't have been more pleased. The staff is friendly and engaged. Although I typically get ice cream from the grocery, I'll be visiting Rocko's often for a wonderful indulgence. For the record, I don't know if the ice cream is "homemade" or not and I really don't care. It tastes terrific! read more

Hands down the best Ice Cream spot!!! And the nicest family owns it. I have been there so many times since I moved to this area and I love it. Always friendly service and the ice cream is awesome. The owner is always giving me new stuff to try. Today I went with my son and his friend. They were not open. They are closed for the week. But, The owner seen us outside and opened the door for us. He started serving us some of his newest batches of ice cream. He didn't even hesitate. As I went to pay, he said "Don't even worry about it man." I never met a more genuine, good hearted guy. On top of that, the ice cream is of the best quality. He is always getting in new flavors and creating deserts. I recommend it!! And would give it more than 5 STARS if Yelp allowed it. read more

I had been meaning to try this new creamery since it opened and I finally got the chance last night . I walked in around 8 pm and was greeted with no line ! There were several hard ice cream choices I almost couldn't decide . I sampled the banana peanut butter and that was fantastic but I went for the birthday cake ice cream . It was rich and creamy with sprinks and chocolate cake pieces ! It tasted just as good as more expensive places . A small cup is 2 scoops for only 2 dollars and change . I loved every single bite ! I can't speak for the ice cream, but I can speak to the açaí bowls. First off, they were out of almost every topping and we hadn't found this out until after we paid. Also, the açaí part is in no way fresh, it was completely frozen and chunky because of the ice. Do not get the açaí bowl here. If the ice cream is good, just stick to what you're good at. read more

First time at Rocko's......LAST time at Rocko's !!!.....I.purchased a triple dip ice cream....as soon as I saw the size if the dippers, that immediately turned me off...their those tiny sized dippers that give you LESS ice cream for your money....years ago the dippers were full sized, somewhat like you would buy in a store,......3 tiny dips of ice cream which were TASTELESS (pistachio and strawberry) which should have taste, and $3.74 ....totally not worth the purchase.....size and taste....Their was an ice cream store at that location that closed,...this one will follow that one.... back to Scoops on RT 22 in Scotch Plains...which also has the tiny scoops but at least their ice cream has flavor.....their in business 30 years so they must be doing something right !!... read more

Received a Rocko's coupon in my Value Pak. Looked it up online and saw homemade ice cream which is always my first choice. Got to the shop and clearly no "homemade". Brands of Welch's, Hood and Kemp's only. I asked the staff behind the counter, they didn't know what I was talking about (nice staff btw). Since I was already there, decided to try the brands. After finishing my sundae, I looked up the website to make sure I wasn't crazy. Went back inside to show the staff the site when the owner came over. Instead of apologizing he proceeded to tell me he didn't create the site. So I nicely said it's your business, your site, you should know what you are advertising and what you are paying for. He then proceeded to argue with me that he hates the internet, social media and yelp reviews, and that it's all poison. He insisted the brands he sells are "homemade" because they are made "somewhere" by "somebody". I don't think so. I guess next time I go to a bakery I have to make sure the bread isn't Wonder Bread. So instead of apologizing to his customer, he argued with me for about 10 minutes and denied everything. Kept insisting it was "homemade". So there you have it folks. Major false advertising and the customer was wrong. I would have NEVER gone there if I knew prior it wasn't homemade which is what I told him. I would have preferred going to the supermarket for a half gallon of Turkey Hill. So clearly since he hates social media - he won't be reading this. Never again.. Used to come here once in a while when it was the Double Dipper Cafe and loved their ice cream. Tried Rocko's today for the first time with my husband and daughter. My cake batter ice cream was excellent. Very creamy. My daughter had cookies and cream and hers was very good as well. My husband also enjoyed his apple pie ice cream. This ice cream store is run by a bunch of kids - which would be fine, but their ice cream tastes like it was bought from the grocery store and shoved into their own containers. Really not great. I'd go to Scoop's creamery across town for higher quality products. read more

Came here since I was interested in finding out how this place is after they just opened. The place is run by young kids, who I have to say were very nice though. The place looks like it was thrown together in two days. Bare bones . I got a strawberry milkshake and was disappointed because all i tasted was the milk and only a tad of the strawberry ice cream! Also, milkshake comes in one size, and it came out to $6!!! Not worth it. The ice cream doesn't really taste that fresh either. I wouldn't come back here. Would not recommend EVER. Overpriced to the MAX for one, and not even homemade ice cream. Milkshakes taste like frozen milk, the açaí bowls are dry and boring, the place is dirty and not well kept. I didn't even want to sit down because the chair was sticky and dirty form a previous customer. The cakes are ridiculously priced as well, and are barely decorated. I'd take my money elsewhere if I were you. I really felt ripped off and shocked on how much their small ice cream size costs. It's actually ridiculous. I really don't see this establishment lasting for too long. There are FAR BETTER ice cream shops in town like Scoops Ice Creamery or Cranford vanilla bean creamery. Rokos is seriously a let down and so is it's disrespectful and unprofessional owners. read more
