Imagine my surprise when I found out that the installed Fender tuner didn't work. I called this Guitar Center and they told me to return my uke. Meanwhile, the owner of the store I was in called the Fender company, and was told this uke's installed tuner (and maybe all Fenders, IDK) is designed to only work when it's plugged into an amp. WHAT???? I called my store, they didn't know this very basic fact about FENDERS? Shouldn't they know that? How can someone who works in a guitar store not know the installed tuners don't work on something they sell (unless plugged into an amp)? Additionally, when I purchased this uke, they just handed it to me and went back to their computers, they didn't ask if I needed to know anything about what I just spent hundreds of dollars on. They could have asked me "do you need any help understanding this instrument?" Nope. They just went back to their business. There was no personal service in this store at all. But they sure did want me to positively review them.

They do not do returns and there are absolutely zero signs stating this. The person working today was glued to her phone so didn't hear when we originally asked for help. I told her that it's sketchy not to have signs posted stating that they don't do refunds. She said that she just works there. I then ask for a number to someone that can assist in getting signs posted. She doesn't have a number. Convenient. I then say if you have an issue with your paycheck who do you call. She stated my boss. I said perfect I'll call that number. She stated she would not give me her bosses number. I said ok then you can message them and tell them you have a disgruntled customer and have them call the store. She flat out refused to help. I had to call an entirely different store to try and get changes made. It's fishy not to have signs posted about no refunds. We have been into this store MANY times and have bought many things here. I received a response from the store manager; Mr. Don Denham (of the band American Revival)! Don and I exchanged a few communications regrading the type of lessons that I required for my son. When my son and I came to the lesson today, we were greeted by Don and advised on guitars and the type of lessons that are provided at the establishment. My son not only got a music lesson with his new guitar instructor Ethan, but I also bought my son a new guitar. I appreciate the professionalism, knowledge of music theory, safety precautions taken by the staff during the pandemic AND that I got to meet the guy (Don) in the band all in one visit. The store is clean and bright and a nice place to be. The employees were so helpful and kind. I felt like they were sharing me because everyone seem to have some thing of value to add to my visit. They have a nice assortment of piano sheet music. I bought 4 books which I am very happy about. They were very reasonably priced. It was very nice that I could hear a student playing the violin; It was very beautiful. They give lessons here for various instruments. I will be back. This is a very nice store with much to offer to the community.

Sent a Student there with an Alto Sax that needs cork replacement, octave key adjustment,…read morelubrication, pad and key check (possible replacement on some pads) and air leak check on an older Sax that is in good condition, just minor repairs. They wanted to completely bend the Horn and wanted $800 for it. This horn was checked by pros that only play this brand of Sax because it is a quality brand. It is perfectly fine, it doesn't need to be redesigned, just usual and customary maintenance. Received very poor communication from this shop. They shipped it out to somewhere in San Antonio, kept it for 3 weeks, did ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to the horn, not even the cork and wanted an arm and a leg to fix it. Everytime we called it was something else wrong with it and supposed to cost a lot more than just a cork replacement and an octave key tweak. Meanwhile my student does not have his Alto and has no idea when it is coming back... Our mistake was the person bringing it in saying he didn't know much about these things and wanted it fixed. Which prompted them to think how much could they soak us for repairing this horn. BOTTOM LINE: GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!!! THESE PEOPLE DO NOT KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING! They are bogged down with repairs from school districts and don't care about communication or quality service. Bait and Switch Place. DO NOT USE THEIR REPAIR SERVICES!!!

Unfortunately it didn't work out that way. To preface, the teachers are wonderful and extraordinary musicians, no complaint. However from the beginning the lady at the front continually screwed up, first the billing was wrong, and then she cancelled my lessons a month early with no real apology ms no way for me to resume. I'm actually sad because I really enjoyed my teacher. But she completely ruined the experience for me. Totally Disappointed!

The downright best luthier/repair artist I've ever had. He's usually got a bit of a backlog (I…read moremean, the secret is out at this point) but it's worth every week you need to wait. Other's have already said it, I'm just here to concur. Jon always goes above and beyond. Had an 80's explorer that needed an overhaul on the neck and a refret job, as well as wiring replaced for some new pickups. He did it all and threw in some new switches and tuners for free b/c he noticed the old ones were jank. Next time I took my new 7 string to get the guts removed and install some BareKnuckles, which he needed to carve some space in the body in order for them to fit (you'd never know, it looks like it was built for them) and then custom rigged the pickups to make use of the push/pull tone knob to use the previous pickup's passive battery as a gain boost, a la tubescreamer, but built right into the guitar itself! Cannot recommend Jon enough.

One of the best selling points and features of Piranha is that for every $20 spent, you get a $1 wooden coin back, so you get a 20:1 ratio of money back on all purchases. It may not mean much, but after stockpiling 15 wooden coins and blowing them on a record, the feeling is unbeaten. The staff is humorous and great. After Record Store Day last year, I pulled up after failing to grab a copy of the Blue Notes Alts n Ins record, and the owner gave me props for grabbing it because he personally thought it was one of the coolest releases in the collection. He asked if I had come there just to buy it or stumbled upon it. I told him I was seeking it out, and I got the nod of approval. Best day of my life. I do not think this record store has much of a purpose to visit if you are deep in Austin, since independent stores in Austin have pretty similar stock, but living in Hutto and for the people in Round Rock and Georgetown, this is a great spot and a place I love to support.
