Absolutely enjoyed this place while living here in Rockwall and now again while visiting. I emailed Steven before I arrived to make sure he could provide a bike. He set me up completely with bike, all the equipment for possible flats, bottle cages. I bought items like pedals and gloves. The point is this shoot will take care of you. I've bought 3 bikes from them and even though I live in Colorado plan to continue to support these guys. Steven is one of the most knowledgeable guys around the country. I took my kids bike to this place and was seen by Matt. Matt not only diagnosed the issue within seconds but he also helped me reinforce how "we use " to live as kids. So he gets a parents gold star with that. The environment is very warm and I can tell those guys, especially Matt, love to help people solve their Bike issues. Meh! I wanted to love this place but just can't. I try to support the local stores but there seems to be a lack of customer service in this place. I have been here. Few times and it would be nice to be acknowledged right away instead of having me stand in front of you waiting for you to look up. Prices are pretty high here but the bikes seem to be great quality. This place is magic, took my truly old school in to complete my rebuild. Guys could have charged me an arm and a leg but chose not to. Glad my Family and I have such a great shop this side of the lake. Support this local shop as they still understand the value of outstanding service to others. Side note, while I was waiting I saw their interactions with many Families with small children. Staff were just as kind to kids asking silly questions as they were to their parents. I went to this bike shop with what seems like 1 million questions. I I was a bit ashamed because I didn't know where to start. Steven, even though the shop was slammed with people, graciously took time and showed me exactly what I needed. Needless to say, I purchased 2 Batch hybrid bike and it has been happily ever after. Fairly new to biking and got discouraged by staff that my bike was bad in maintenance and was told I needed to take care of the bike and go clean it before I consider maintenance. Just felt rejected because I didn't know enough in general so I took my business else where. read more

Will most likely take my business elsewhere. Rockwall cycle Does not support Military or Law Enforcement. The staff are great and very helpful, but the owners decided to not honor a deal that was made once the bike on order came into the store. We went to Rockwall cycle to purchase a mountain bike for my son's birthday as we are local Rockwall residents and like to support our local businesses. I worked with one of the friendly staffers who helped us select a bike but we would have to wait a few weeks for it to come in. We discussed the discounts and talked briefly about the pricing of the bike.. We received the call the bike was ready to pick up and came by to pick it up. At the time of checkout they stated the owners decided they will no longer honor discounts (evidently a new policy).. A team member even went and discussed with the owner the details of the situation to which they were told no exceptions. It would have been only a small percentage and a small amount but it was the principle.. Business used to be held to a higher standard of handshake agreement and a deal is a deal mindset. It seems as though the owners of Rockwall Cycle are willing to alienate thier local customers. I planned on purchasing two more high end mountain bikes and of course the continued purchasing of accessories and support over the years but I just don't feel that they will receive my business or the business of my friends or family. Complete money grab, I came in for a service which they did in a timely manner I'll give em 1 star for that. However what I found unethical the tire had some plastic screws not even a couple seconds taking them off by hand and they up charged me the labor fee just for that. Instead of disclosing that with me they just charged me. We can do an económies of scale model if a couple of finger turns equates to an unethical upcharge. I could've easily installed/uninstalled them, I tried to reason they simply stated the too bad, pay up. Next time be upfront with your customers and please practice ethical business practices. read more

Rockwall Cycling earns a bad review from me because of their onerous return policy. They don't allow returns or exchanges for anything except bicycles and even those have quite a few stipulations. Unfortunately I didn't realize that when I purchased several accessories including two lights for my bike which I later decided not to use. I guess I should have asked what their policy is but it never occurred to me that returns aren't allowed. I never saw any signs in the store stating the policy. The only time I saw the policy was on the receipt as I was on the way to return the lights. So irritating. I was patronizing this store because I wanted to support local businesses especially during this time of the COVID quarantine, but a policy like this makes me run screaming back to Amazon. I was dead set on a specific shoe style and brand with a budget limit. After a bit of dialogue they had two shoes I tried on both fit as well as they said, but a bit out of my ideal price point. They then not only match they beat the price of the competitors prices and with a shoe that was above on features. I then took shoe to the BMX track where I managed to pull the Cleat and plate from the shoe, completely my fault btw. Without hesitation they repaired the shoe and help with assuring proper pedal clearance. Long story short great group of people, I recommend! read more

Not being an experienced cyclist, I was somewhat nervous going to go to a bike shop with very basic questions, thinking I may get scoffed at for being such a newbie. I'm very happy to report that this was NOT the case at Rockwall Cycling. I didn't know the first thing about measurements and bike size, and they were happy to take the time to help me with sizing, and give me some information on bikes that were in my price range. I ended up ordering a Specialized road bike and I am in love with it. I really appreciate the personal service, and how down-to-earth everyone in the shop is. I feel like this store robbed me. I dropped my older bike off on a Wed. and was told it would be ready on the following Tuesday at the latest. I was quoted $200 for what I wanted done. The bike wasn't ready until the following Friday and I had to call them everyday to see if it was ready yet. They didn't seem concerned about getting my bike done or contacting me about the delays. When I could finally come get my bike they charged me almost $300! The labor charge alone was $150. When I called on Wed, Thurs and Fri to see if my bike was ready I was told each time it would only take an hour to get it done. So an hour of labor costs $150! I would pay a Dr. that much but not a bike guy. I will never let these people cheat me again! read more

I brought in an old men's mountain bike that my fiance had sitting in the garage for a very long time. I noticed the tires were flat and dry rotting so I brought this to Rockwall Cycling to ask if it would be better to get it serviced or just buy a new one. The guy who greeted me and came and looked at the bike said it would be beneficial to just get this one repaired. He quoted me 20 for each new tire and 6 dollars for each inner tube. He also said it would be 75 dollars for a tune up. It turned out costing me 164 dollars. He said it would be ready the following week. Well the following week rolls around and he calls and said it wasn't ready due to it needing different tires that would cost more. I had no problem with that. The problem I had with this shop is I was trying to figure out what this Tune-Up consisted of because the bike still had all the dirt on it that it had when I brought it in. The bike chain of all things that I thought they would clean up and re-oil was the same as when I brought it in. The frame had the same dirt on it from when I brought it in. I'm still trying to figure out what this tune up consisted of because the only thing it looked like they did on it was put the tires and tube on it. Every thing in this shop is also way overpriced. I'll just buy a new bike and pass on this place from now on if I ever have to have it repaired again. You may want to go to a different bike shop if you need repairs on yours. read more
