I noticed this restaurant while traveling through the area on the way to somewhere else. We were hungry & wanted something different. The food selection was incredible and I had a hard time making a decision on what to try. I live near the coast & enjoyed an excellent flounder lunch that was equal to or possibly better than what I can get at home. Staff did not miss a beat when the power suddenly failed half way through our meal. They quickly made the adjustment to work offline and kept smiles on their face. I will be back! read more

We ate at the Rockwell Diner after church today, and I will never go back. I ordered the 12 oz ribeye with a baked potato and salad. My grandmother had the marinated chicken with a baked potato and salad. We both ended up sending our meals back to order something else. Her chicken was dry and tough, and my ribeye was the toughest ribeye I have ever eaten. The salads and baked potatoes were very good. We then ordered chicken quesadillas, which were mediocre at best. The service was awful. We could not even tell who our waitress was because after taking our order, we never saw her again. Someone else brought the food. I had to get up and find someone to address the issues with the steak and chicken. No one apologized, except the cashier, who was very kind and polite. The manager was seated in a booth with other waitresses and never bothered to come by or apologize for either the food or the service. This was my third time at Rockwell Diner, and it will be my last, which is unfortunate because I like to support local businesses. The first time, the food was good, but the service was less than stellar. The second time, the food was just okay and the service still was not good. Today was the final straw. read more

I was there for dinner this evening and I Ordered chicken wings. 4 out of the 10 were raw in the middle near the bone with blood in them. I told the waitress and she was going to refund them. Once she spoke to the manager she refused to take them off my bill since I ate half. The waitress apologized but I never spoke to the manager. We have been regular customers for years. Due to this poor customer service, me and my family will not be back and I plan to tell as many people as I can! read more

I've been eating here since it was the Anchor House seafood. We really need something like this in the area and I'm glad it reopened yet again after the last closure. I waited a long time to even go in and try it because the time before this one it wasn't very good. I'm glad I finally went in. They have daily specials which I cant remember because they rarely post on their fb page as one of the owners told me it wasn't necessary but my very nice server gave me a cheat sheet and wrote them all down for me so I would know what is on what day. I love the big chef salad, hamburger steak, their bacon cheeseburger is fantastic, homemade chips are the best I've ever had and they make all their dressings in house. I have enjoyed everything except the popcorn shrimp, it is just way too salty, must be something in the batter but I just cant eat it. I've ordered it 3 times thinking it was just a mistake but no, all 3 times it was overly salty so to solve that problem I just don't order it anymore. I love hotdogs, they are my favorite food and I just expected they would have a footlong, but they don't. In this case it worked out good for me because if they had I would of gotten that and never tried anything else. I do though wish they had biscuits and gravy and livermush for breakfast. I go in several times a week and eat by myself, not something I really enjoy doing but I'm okay with it here as mid day it can be deserted in there. I don't know the current owners but I'm told it is the 2 ladies I see in there working, one of them is mainly out with the people and I always hated having her as a waitress or dealing with her because I swear she is the saddest woman I have ever seen in my life. No matter what you say she is just so sad, never happy, in my opinion. Now not actually knowing her it could just be that she is painfully shy and that's fine but when you work with the public, one on one with people you need to put on a happy face especially in a tip based business. That all said, we will be back. I just wish they were more actively involved with the community on their fb page. Stopped for breakfast this morning before grocery shopping. We share 2 scrambled eggs with smoked sausage, grits and toast. Rockwell Dinner is one of those places that you hope it would be good but it's not! Here is the low done 1) Do something with the inside make it different than the last 3 places 2) Large menu No Go have a small menu and make sure it's perfect. 3) Get rid of the rolling silverware in paper! 4) Make sure the condiments are clean nothing worse than picking up the salt and something sticky on it 5) If you do not know how to cook meatloaf and your calling it meatloaf make it taste like a meatloaf. Your meatloaf taste like saw dust Get help if need be 6) My GOD please cook the sides.The Days of frying okra and canned green beans are over. 7) If you do not know how to cook a cheeseburger then ask...Mine was raw 8) Sweet. tea it's a stable around here you can't use it over and over THROW it out 9) Teach the servers and hose what to not what they think should be done 10) Have fun! read more

They have a lot to learn about customer service! We have helped to keep them afloat during the pandemic by ordering 1-2 times every week. On today's breakfast order, two of the 3 orders included biscuits and gravy. After picking it up and getting all the way home hoping for a nice hot breakfast we discovered they left out a biscuit. I had to go all the way back to get it wasting my time and gas and ruining our breakfast. When I asked for some compensation for my time, gas, and inconvenience, their best offer was $1.25! How insulting to say my time is worthless and how far can you get on $1.25 worth of gas?! This was a maddening experience to say the least. To top it off the replacement biscuit was undercooked, and the eggs got over cooked having to rewarm them. Lost a regular customer for $1.25 - which I refused to accept anyway. read more

I live about an hour drive from Rockwell Diner. I was going on a motorcycle ride today so I got on yelp to find a place to ride for lunch. I was not disappointed. This place is great. The hostess and my server we're both fantastic. I am on a diet so I had broiled salmon, roasted squash, and broccoli casserole. It was fantastic. It was great to eat healthy and it be so good. And as I already said the service made it that much better. They even let me bring my cup in from my motorcycle and filled it with tea before I left. I will definitely be back! read more

Hubby and I used to love this place 200%. We did Sunday AM takeout every week and dinner 1-2x week for about 1-1.5 years. One Sunday we discovered they forgot his biscuits for his "biscuitsNgravy" take-out order as we sat to eat. When we called to report this and ask for credit towards the next week's order, we were told all they "could" do is give him his missing biscuit if he came back right away. Seriously??? A place I've been to about four times, three for dinner and once for breakfast, but have yet to get to writing a review for. My only real complaint about this restaurant is that sometimes the service can be slow. At one point we had a party in front of us waiting for a larger table and the service didn't think to check or ask if anyone behind them was with them, causing us to have to wait for it to be pointed out to them. If I had to criticize another thing, it would have to be the fries, which look great but definitely prove "don't judge a book by its cover" to be true. Aside from that, this restaurant is always a nice spot to be. The fried shrimp was delicious, and the restaurant also has some of the best fried pickles I've ever had. Typically when I get any chicken parm from a place, I tend to eat the chicken but not the pasta due to the sauce not being good, but this is the absolute exception as Rockwell Diner has some excellent sauce for their pasta. My most recent trip here was for breakfast, where I was introduced to their lovely eggs and buttered toast, but most importantly, to me, was their livermush, or liver pudding as it's listed on the menu. Ordered crispy, this livermush was some of the best I've had, I didn't even need to add any toppings to it. Overall a great place to dine at that I hope to continue treating myself at. read more

I thought this place was very good! The amount of food you get for the price is excellent. The waitress was friendly and knowledgeable of the menu. I got the Greek food and it was very tasty. Take a step into classic hometown diner, where life is from a simpler time, where you swear everyone in the room knows everyone else (except you, but they welcome in in whole heartedly). After an exhausting Sunday morning at Tiger World, we came here hoping for fast and good eats. NOT disappointed! My companions had the Gyro's with chips, I had the ham with two sides, broccoli casserole and mashed potatoes which was the only thing i didn't finish cause they tasted funny like old. We defiantly will be back the next time we are up this way. I think I will try the quesadilla because I saw two table have them and they looked AMAZING. read more

Our food was great. It took awhile to get to us, but it was Father's Day and it was packed, so that was understandable. Our waitress was very sweet and attentive. The reason I'm only giving 3 stars is because of the goldfish in the disgusting 10 gallon tank as soon as you walk in the door. Goldfish produce a lot waste, so they require a large tank (at least 30 gallons for a small, baby goldfish) and a great filter. This goldfish was bigger than my whole hand and in a tiny 10 gallon tank with dirty water. Who would want to see that as they're walking into a restaurant? Either give the fish to someone with a large tank or get a large tank for the restaurant. read more
