We went to dinner here for the first time. I was really enjoying the beautiful lakefront view!! We had a nice meal. I had a Rueben sandwich and my husband got a cheeseburger. The food was good although my sandwich was soggy from the 1000 island dressing on it. What struck me as we were sitting and eating was all the dirt and crumbs on the window sil. We were in a booth and the windows ran the whole length of the outer wall. I walked by and noticed it was along the whole length of the wall. I don't like eating in dirty restaurants and I definitely don't plan to go back. read more

Lakeview never disappoints! It's the one place I go to when on vacation at High Rock or Badin Lake (30 minute drive) so worth it Their specials are awesome, baby flounder with sides on Wednesday is all you can eat an it prepared perfectly. The chicken is like home, try the prime rib salad. Their b-b-q is bout as good as you can get an I always get some to take home. Now, the prices are so affordable and for the quality an amount is well worth every dollar. The staff is attentive and friendly. Special thank you to the cooks! Plenty of parking and with the restaurant being on High Rock Lake there are boat slips within easy walking distance. My only complaint is it's 11:2 hours from my home. This is a solid family style/diner style restaurant and looks and tastes exactly like you would expect. They do have pizza but it's not a pizza place despite being listed that way. I haven't tried the pizza because I'm a sucker for diner style burgers and the ones here are pretty great. The menu is pretty big, including mostly fried seafood options (the hushpuppies are pretty great). If you are putting your boat in/out at the wildlife ramp you are basically in the parking lot for Lakeview so it's worth a stop for a breakfast/lunch before going out or something on your way back home. There isn't really a place to park your boat if you are on the water already. You could beach nearby if you're comfortable with that though. read more

I love the staff and the food but I have a problem with the servers eating at the counter and coming to the tables with food in their mouth. Drinks, food and cigarette packs laying on the counter where the desserts are. I just think it's unsanitary and they should have a place in the back for this along with prepping the salad dressings, etc. also the table condiments, window seals and windows could use a good cleaning. read more

The food here is okay. It is pretty typical greasy spoon food and that's not what I was in the mood for when I went. I had the shrimp and flounder basket which was a lot of food. Definitely, enough for two people. The part I really enjoyed was the back porch seating with view of the lake. It was really nice. Our waitress was also very friendly! read more

Not a fancy place but the diner style food was excellent. Husband had a big tasty cheeseburger and crispy battered fries. I had a BBQ salad and it was made with only iceberg lettuce. Good homemade ranch dressing. That would be my only complaint about the food. We sat outside on the covered patio and enjoyed watching the boats come and go. Stopped by here when we were on the lake on Saturday. The food was delicious for to go. I had the Chicken Quesadilla. So of the other family members got burgers and fries. The restaurant in on the High Rock Lake. You are able to put your boat in just behind the restaurant. read more

Have been a customer of this restaurant for a few months and before 08-26-21 I would have given it 4 stars. We went in at 6:45 PM and there was one table that had been cleaned all the others were dirty. We didn't think anything of it because we realize help is hard to come by. We sat at the one clean table in the restaurant, right in front of the cash register and where waitresses entered and exited to serve food. Others came in, well after us and sat at dirty tables. Waitresses came out cleaned the tables and took their orders, all while ignoring us as we sat with our menus in hand, thinking that they would see our menus and realize we hadn't been served. Our waitress was completely oblivious to our presence. We will not return to this restaurant, we have recommended the to friends, that recommendation will be withdrawn, all because a waitress couldn't do her job. We hate that, we normally enjoyed the place. read more

Lakeview Family Restaurant on High Rock Lake-Rowan County has the Worst Food and Worst Service ! I was told this place has a new owner as of 2020. I've been there twice and been disappointed both times. Once for the fish flounder which used to be very good and next for a hamburger which was overcooked and my husband had the smoked ribs that were overcooked and tasteless. The BBQ ribs and chicken are only served one day a week and NOT on the same weekday. This is crazy. And why would this restaurant close at 8:00pm weekday and Fri/Sat when everyone goes out to eat ?? The servers are so busy cleaning the tables before 8:00pm they are practically sweeping you out the door before you finish eating. Previous reviews are out of date. I can make a sandwich and a hot dog. A better Chef and waitress staff is needed. Stay home and save your money read more

I used to go here before school everyday with my father, the breakfast is great. Best from what's around in my opinion. Their lunch and dinner is eh, the breakfast is when I go mostly and for reasons mentioned. The service is talkative, yet really nice and welcoming. Went there on Mothers Day 2013. Located right on a lake with some outside seating and a nice view. Too bad the food didn't match the location. I had deep fried white fish fillets with french fries and fried squash. My fish was way over cooked. My friend had a hamburger steak with french fries and cold slaw. The meat was so over cooked it was totally dried out. This was my first time there so I don't know what the other food is like. It must be better because they seem to be busy. Listed as a pizza place, but it's more home cooking. Locals love the taco salad. I'm partial to the Lexington style BBQ. Flounder is good and everything is reasonable.It's a diner atmosphere and no alcoholic beverages. It's all completely open seating, tables and booths with a few outside tables overlooking High Rock lake. read more

The woman working the register with the short blonde hair was extremely rude. She forgot part of our order and when we polietly asked for it, she snapped at us and essentially called us liars. I was a bit shocked. The food was okay, but we won't be returning due to her. read more
