Lots of measures put in for covid- sanitized Apple pickers. Spray painted lines in the grass. Masks encouraged. A HUGE variety of apples and some pears. There are labels and a color coded system on all the apples so you know which are ripe and what to leave for later in the season. There were also several cool varieties I haven't seen on other orchards like an oval Apple, and the poison Apple with the red tart center. LOTS OF SPACE, Lots of variety. How have I grown up on the island and not known there was apple picking, basically in my backyard! We stopped here the other weekend, and I am obsessed! From the street, it looks like a small farm stand, but once you go on the farm, you realize it is HUGE, with hundreds of apple trees (over 60 varieties!), pear trees, all with different tags depending on when in the season the specific apples are ripe. They have tons of fun wagons for kids/apples to be pulled in, and make it an easy, fun experience. I am so happy that i can have fresh, local apples, just a few miles away! read more

Rocky Brook Orchard is a great place to go apple picking with your family and friends on Aquidneck Island. There are 60+ varieties of apples that are ready to be picked in varying times of the season, as well as a few pear and quince trees as well. Bags (as of Fall 2013) are priced at $7 for small, $17 for medium, and $30 for large. With a medium sized bag we had enough apples to share between 3 adults and 2 children. My young nephews (ages 2 and 3) had a blast picking apples, and some branches were low enough that they could pick their own. The trees are color coated and labeled with the variety for when each tree is ripe for picking. We all had a great time finding our favorite varieties and discovering new ones as well. I recommend this orchard for pick your own apples! read more

This is the second season my wife and I have chosen Rocky Brook for Apple picking. We've been to others, but this has become our favorite. Or kids have a blast exploring the grounds, and finding their favorite apples. The trees and grounds are well maintained and in great shape. The layout is easy to navigate, and the orchard is a great size, offering plenty of variety. Trees are well marked for identification and status of ripeness. The crew is friendly and helpful, and the homemade munchkins were really great. I have to acknowledge Andy in particular. There was an incident yesterday with a lost child. Andy happened to be the staff notified. As soon as he heard, he spent at least the next hour and a half searching the orchard and neighboring grounds, helping the family until word came through the child was located. He is a great example of a caring human being on top of being extremely knowledgeable of their products. We'll be making the trip out again next year. read more

You can get fine apples cheap at the supermarket. So if you go apple picking, go where you get what you can get nowhere else. Rocky Brook has every variety you can name, plus you will taste varieties you never heard of. As fall progresses, the offerings change. Pears and quince too. They even have apple trees that no one knows the name of. The folks there will take all the time you need to answer any questions you can think of. read more

I was looking for a place to pick your own fruits with my kids in this area. This place is easy to locate. The staff are helpful since it is the first time my kids went apple picking. I love all the different types of apples that are available. We were told there were 60+ types of apples. Each tree is tagged so we know what types of apples we were picking. Rocky Brook Orchard is the perfect place for a fall outing. I've been coming here for many years. They have all the usual varieties of apples such as Honey Crisp,Empire,Macintosh,Cortland, as well as many delicious unusual varieties such as Ginger Gold,Rockstar, Mutsu and Fiesta to name a few. They also have yellow and white peaches,pears(regular and Asian)and quinces. The owner and staff are super knowledgeable and friendly. When you arrive they are happy to review the orchard map and point out where various varieties are.If you need it they supply wagons and fruit pickers for those out of reach apples. The orchard itself is lovely and there is a gazebo in a clearing at the top of the property for picnicking. read more
