The employees here are absolutely horrible when it comes to customer service one of them threw a half dollar coin at my vehicle and damaged it after telling me to "gtfo". I made a police report and the owner "Klause" acted like a child, threw the blame on me & asked the officer to ticket me for an expired plate . I proceeded to press charges against his employee. I called several coin/Gold buyer dealers to get an idea what they charged. None of them except for Rocky Mountain Coin would give what percentage they charge. I had several gold coins that Rocky Mountain Coin had to look up their value. Another dealer thats close to me told me they just melt them down. The dealer I first went to is about two miles from my house. But it was worth a 15-mile drive to Rocky Mountain Coin. Irma was wonderful to work with, and she answered all my questions and gave me a written price for what I had. While I was there, a street person came with a bracelet he found. The gentleman who helped him didn't treat him any differently than if he had been wearing an expensive business suit. I would recommend them to all my friends and family. Highly Recommend! As soon as I walked in, I was pleasantly greeted by Klaus (He is the owner, I believe). Klaus was exceptionally helpful in assisting me in finding what I was looking for. He made great recommendations that fit the criteria of what I wanted to a tee. As I browsed for a bit, I also met a fantastic employee named William. His genuine nature made it very enjoyable to chat with him and pick his brain about specific coins, the industry, and how much he loves working there! I would recommend them to anyone who is in the market. My one complaint is that there is no love in this game. I have been selling gold, silver and coins to Rocky Mountain Coin for roughly the past decade. Until 2010, I lived about one block east of the store, so when I was ridiculously broke AND my gas tank was bare, I had the built-in convenience of being able to walk over (and, depending upon my earned spoils, I could take a cab back home). I've experienced severe hard financial times on and off through the last ten years, and ultimately made some hard decisions to sell some of my grandparents' and my dad's gold and silver jewelry, coins and flatware. The staff at RMC has *always* treated me with kindness and respect, seemingly in recognition and acknowledgement that these transactions were a "last-resort" situation for me (quite the polar opposite treatment offered by another gold-buyer in the Cherry Creek area whom will remain nameless in this review because I'm praising RMC in this space, not vilifying DE... oh wait, did I just give the initials of the other shop? Dang. Ignore that). It has been a while now (at least two years) since my desperate times have called for desperate measures, but this week I found myself desperate once again; prepared to sell some silver items for cash; a sterling bracelet, an antique silver napkin holder, a silver thimble and a silver ring. I know that gold and silver buyers typically pay on or around spot for these items, even when listing them at auction could garner a higher price. In addition, silver (especially jewelry) is always a crap shoot - often buyers just aren't buying it. When I went in to RMC today, a nice gentleman told me they weren't buying silver jewelry, which I knew was an unfortunate possibility. He asked a very nice woman -- with whom I have dealt many many times, but years ago, and I'm just the brand of idiot who has never asked her name -- if she was interested in buying silver jewelry. She looked at me and said, "I will from her!" I could not COULD NOT believe that she recognized me. They both took my items and examined and weighed them all, with the sad (for me) determination that the whole lot only came to six bucks, so I ultimately did not sell it. I can state, unequivocally, that the staff at Rocky Mountain Coin has collectively and cumulatively spent VASTLY more time over the years, evaluating items for me, nearly half of which, I'd estimate, were determined to be valueless. My point is, all things figured in, this business has really not made any money from me. And, though I left the store today with just the same two dollars in my wallet that I had when I went in, I left with such good feelings about RMC because they really do care about their customers, and they value loyalty as much as I do. In me, Rocky Mountain Coin has earned a customer for life. And it is my hope that the next visit to the store will be to actually PURCHASE something, because they also sell some beautiful, beautiful things. Thank you so much RMC and especially to my friend, whose face and kindness I recognize but whose name I don't know. You made my day. been buying gold/silver here almost every year for thirty yaers, used to buy gold at $35 an ounce, normally like the place, several weeks ago i had to sell some the same exact gold i purchased here at a premium price but was told that my coins were damaged, they were and always had been in plastic sleeves, i didnt see any damage but they refused to offer going rate and lowered their quote substantially, I told them these were the same coins they sold me at a premium years before and the young pr***k behind the counter essentially told me i was lying, thirty years and they treat you like sh*t over a few bucks I went to another place where they gave me going price and never made any comment about coin condition except to say they were in fine shape. go figure read more

One of your guys gave me a quote on a lot of coins but refused to give me a price on the one I new was worth the most. And yes the forst time I went there they did look at me funny no matter what the reason was. Arrogant children pricing my NGC and PCGS slabbed coins. 2012 PCGS slabbed certified VF20 1909-S VDB is too "low quality." Quote, they would be lucky to get $200 dollars from it. PCGS Xf45 1909-s VDB slabbed in 2010 is worth $416. 2008 slabbed NGC Proof pf 64 no-cents Liberty V nickel is worth $60. These children are too excited to be strapping guns acting like they know everything. I'm sure there are adults that run this place that know more about coins. But they are not the ones pricing my coins. Also- I asked about having coins sent off to be slabbed and they told me no. And slabbed mint waffles aren't real. Yes, I faked an NGC certified slabbed mint waffle. When I asked to speak to an expert- the child laughed and said he was an expert. I then asked why the cent was minted in steel at one point, and he told me "pennies" we're always made from copper. Well... Unfortunately I know how to grade and also pay for a grey sheet.... Update... Oh wow. So I called out this shop for what they really are and thy called my review fake. I'm sorry- I've been there twice. Both times your child associates failed to look at grey sheet prices. Certified slabbed coins- I don't know what I'm talking about? I worked at a coin show for almost 4 years. A top-notch, reputable shop. These folks have been doing good business for many years at this location. They are not shoot-the-breeze sorts (go next door for a more homey, equally reputable shop), but they have a huge inventory and sell and trade fairly. They have a clearly displayed precious metals ticker and are happy to explain their buying and selling policies. There are some nice jewelry and watch selections, as well as a bunch of inexpensive items that make it a good place for kids, too. read more
