Well I finally gave up my $29 Goodwill sewing machine for a new Pfaff sewing machine! I walked around the store not knowing exactly what I wanted. Staffer, Alex showed me around to their many different brands and took her time explaining and demonstrating machines. Honestly, I never heard of the brand Pfaff which apparently Alex and other employees own. The store also carries vacuum cleaners, sewing supplies and accessories and some fabrics. They have a class schedule and I took a courtesy intro class on my machine. My only issue is that the machine was advertised including an extension table and a Singer iron. I got the table but It took almost a month to finally get the iron. I'm looking forward to start sewing on my Pfaff! read more

Went in to get a sewing machine I'd purchased at the thrift store. Donna assisted me. She was knowledgeable and professional. She went ahead and tested my machine. Servicing it would have been expensive so I purchase the accessories she suggested to make my machine usable. They have a lot of machines here but not for a newbie like me. Their machines are great quality and for advanced sewers. They also service and sell vacuum cleaners. They do offer classes to teach people how to use their machines. Shared parking lot. read more

I have been going to Rocky Mountain Sewing & Vacuum for years. they have wonderful customer service, a great selection of sewing machines, and great prices. Bought a Pfaff machine there that was a great buy. Last week I took my 30-year-old Bernina in because the bobbin thread was breaking. I didn't buy the Bernina at this store, but they still serviced it. Fixed the tension in a few minutes and didn't charge me a thing. As always, the staff was friendly and helpful. After 25 years of service my Patriot vacuum motor finally gave up. I learned about Rocky Mounting Sewing & Vacuum via google. This business had great reviews. I am so glad I came here. Vacuums have really changed in 25 years. I worked with Dave to make my final purchases. Dave is very knowledgable and spent quite a bit of time with me discussing the various vacuums and he allowed me to test drive various vacuums. I ultimately purchased the SEBO Airbelt D4 Premium vacuum and I LOVE IT! All of the attachments that I need are all built in to the vacuum. This vacuum is so powerful, light weight and so easy to use. I have two dogs (Border Collie and Chocolate Lab) that shed alot. My SEBO picks up all the pet hair so easily. I placed my SEBO into service on August 20,2023 and I have yet to change the bag. I use this vacuum daily so the bags have a great capacity. The second vacuum I purchased is Simplicity cordless vacuum. I primarily use this vacuum for quick clean up task. Both vacuums are powerful and easy to use. This place is incredible! After watching too many YouTube videos, I finally took my MIL's sewing machine in for service. Not only did Megan try to fix the problems I was having, she also clearly explained the service charge (and extra if parts are required). After showing Megan my concerning issues, i decided to not get it repaired and likewise did not incur a charge for the time she spent with me. Megan said that she tries to avoid a customer from having to incur service charges if it is something she can easily fix -- which is so different from other places where the machine is dropped off and several weeks later your machine repair ends up costing more than you paid for the machine. My first encounter with RMS&V was for a repair of my 25 year old Kirby vacuum. I was very pleased with the entire transaction. Three years ago, I decided it was time for a new sewing machine. I returned to the Aurora store, then on Parker Road. My experience was nothing but wonderful. I had a very young clerk who was quiet and reserved. She had answers to most of my questions. When she didn't, she turned to a more experienced person. I ended up buying a Pfaff machine, medium priced. I Love this machine. I don't quilt or embroider, so didn't get that type machine. I have, however, begun to sew hand bags that need a machine to top stitch through multiple layers. I hem jeans-that is nine layers! I have always been treated with professional, knowledgeable enthusiasm by every clerk in the store. I will continue as a customer. read more

My husband bought me a pfaff sewing machine last year. A year and a few months later the needle threader and the bobbin case broke. I went in to have it foxed because the machine is basically brand new. Used less than 10 times and already broken. They charged me $150 to fix and that's after me speaking to the manager. The manager was courteous. But the employee assisting me was absolutely awful, she was rude and when I asked her that I wanted to speak to the manager because I had previously spoken to her already, she flat out tried to lie, saying that they had a new manager now, I had to ask her 5 times to just go get her because she already knew what the issue with my machine was. I don't remember the employees name but she is very young and blonde ish. Thin. Definitely needs better training in customer service. Don't recommend this place! Should have gone and bought elsewhere. Poor service and high prices. Avoid it. read more

I bought a new Pfaff from this place about a year ago. Not their top of the line but a nice machine. About 6 months ago I took it back to have it serviced (to the tune of $169). After a few days I had some issues so I took it back (was operator error). Even though my machine was less than a year old the woman tried to pressure me into trading in my machine for another higher priced machine (it was only $3000 more with my trade in) needless to say I declined!!! And now, this same salesperson keeps calling me trying to up sell...I never answer the calls but she always leaves messages about the new deals they have. I am soooo annoyed with this place....I will never buy another thing from them again....they are stalkers!!!!! read more

I'm troubled by a recent experience with the Arvada Store. I contacted a person I've dealt with in the past at that store to explore the idea of trading in my Janome Skyline S9 machine for a Continental M7. The employee got back to me the same day and offered a new machine out of the box for $4999 and my machine. I did a quick check on the internet and found that particular machine was on sale in many stores for $4999 with no trade in. I also learned that the M7 is being discontinued. I found a used Skyline S9 at Ken's Sewing for $2,299, so I was justified in expecting some offer for my machine. I knew a trade in wouldn't bring much, but this store tried to bamboozle me I don't really want to continue a relationship with RMS even though the employees were always so nice and helpful. It's hard to over look this situation. I also became aware that RMS a not member of the Better Business Bureau which means there is no formal way to lodge complaints. Walked in with a sewing machine that kept jamming and the bobbin holder popped out when it jammed. A very nice lady greeted me and immediately figured out that I had the wrong bobbin. She tried a different bobbin and made sure it sewed correctly, no more jamming and said no charge. Wonderful customer service! read more

I've been hoping to replace my loud, clunky sewing machine for a few years. Bought off eBay, I hadn't been very informed about buying a machine and didn't think to test run a few models before making my purchase. Rocky Mountain Sew and Vac had a location just down the street from my home so I loaded up my old machine and serger and headed over to see what I could see. The store is very nice, new and easy to find off of Parker Rd in the shopping complex north of the Super Walmart. Plenty of parking and automatic doors - very wheelchair friendly. I was greeted immediately by a friendly associate. After explaining that I might want to trade in old machines for a new one, she helped me carry both machines in from my car. After fixing my sluggish serger (tangled thread - I'm a dunce), I asked about some options for getting a new machine. The associate wasn't pushy but wasn't quite the type of salesperson that I'd expected. She didn't offer a whole lot of in-depth information about the machines, just the basics like number of stitches, buttonholes and pricing on each machine. She showed me a few very nice machines sadly out of my price range and helped me try out a few other machines closer to my price range. The store then got busy and I was left to my own devices. There was plenty of sample fabric to try stitches and automatic buttonholes and I put two machines through their paces and decided on a Brother CE5000. Unfortunately, the associate never informed me that all the machines they had of this model were refurbished. It may have slipped her mind but I had to find out for myself by opening the box once I got home and seeing the "refurbished" sticker on the machine. That was really annoying. The store was pleasantly lit with quite a few machines out to admire and test. Lots of accessories to choose from and a full selection of presser feet for Pfaff and Brother machines. Actually, that seemed to be the only two brands they carried. Not a problem for me since both have basic models in my price range but no Viking machines for fans of the Swedish company. A lot of embroidery machines of all price points but not very many sergers or heavy duty machines that I could see. They had a small vacuum selection, a back area with tables for classes and a moderate selection of sewing tables and desks. I did not check their prices for vacuum service and don't know if the maintenance is done on site. They offer sewing classes though I'm not sure what classes are offered at different locations. I was happy with my purchase and overall pleased with my experience. I would recommend Rocky Mt. Sew and Vac for someone looking to test out Brother or Pfaff machines and support local business. I am not pleased with the associate not telling me that the Brother model I bought was a refurbished model but you can't have it all. read more

I love this place! I went to try out some machines and the sales associate walked me through all the different lines to help me find a good fit. The one I fell in love with was, sadly, out of my budget. I ended up buying a used one off ebay, and Rocky Mountain Sewing & Vacuum has been super helpful even though I didn't buy it from them. I'm able to take free classes and get tips and advice, regardless of where the machine came from. Needless to say, I've been supporting the business by buying accessories and supplies through them and by taking my machine there for service. read more

I bought my Bernina machine a few years ago from the Aurora location. The sales associates are okay and their prices are average, but stay clear of their service packages if you use your machine a lot. The multi-year service package gives me a discount on the annual service of my machine, but It takes them 4-6 weeks to do a regular tune up. This is my third year of the service package and the wait time has been this long each year. I have tried bringing it in during different times of the year, but since they send their machines out for servicing, it takes a really long time. I am a quilter and use my machine every week. It would be no big deal if I did not sew as often. After calling around to other sewing machine stores, the typical turn around time for machine maintenance is a week and most have technitions in house. Some quilting or fabric stores will bring in a service technition for the day and customers can make a hour long appointment. Once the service package runs out, I will not be returning to Rocky Mountain Sewing and Vacuum. I certainly will not be buying another machine from them. There are too many other sewing machine stores in the area that have more helpful staff, competitive prices, and reasonable turn around times for machine maintenance. read more

Poor business practices. Rude people. I have been in all locations and they are all the same. I received the worst service at the Littleton location. I felt so low after leaving I vowed to never return. The worker named Lynn, was so snotty and stuck up I felt that she thought I was not good enough for her. I have talked to many of my friends and have been told the very same thing. I have heard that they are not local like they claim they are. We can not afford for our hard earned money to leave Colorado and go to Washington and California. That is where the real owners are. Nothing but a bunch of crooks and liars. I am returning to post a more positive review of the Aurora store. The staff of the Aurora Rocky Mountain Sewing and Vac have worked very hard to provide positive customer service. They return calls, they try to help with problems, and have been professional in every sense of the word. I would highly recommend the Aurora store!! I had posted a very negative review of the Littleton Rocky Mountain Sewing and Vac Store, where I purchased my Pfaff Creative Performance in June/August 2012 It was removed from Yelp even though the information was based on my experience. I found that the management of Rocky Mountain Sewing and Vac is very responsive to customer complaints. I am willing to give them another chance!! read more

I took my Pfaff 230 in for a cleaning and to have the thread tension check spring replaced (which had broken, but was still usable). After two weeks in the shop, they called and said they couldn't replace the spring since Pfaff no longer made it, nor could they put in an after market spring since they were Pfaff dealers. They juryrigged the spring so the tension would work - so they said. When I picked it up, they tried to sell me a new machine. I didn't need or want a new machine, I just wanted my 230 fixed. When I got it home, I found the tension was worse than when I had taken it in. (I hadn't taken the plastic wrapping off at the store). I found that they had not put the tension spring back into the machine! Plus, the machine would only do a large zigzag stitch and the knob to change it to the straight stitch was so loose it was about to fall off. The machine was in worse condition than when I took it in!!!!!!!! I called very upset and they said to bring it in and they would look at it and take care of any problems. I did - and four weeks later I finally got my machine again. The tension was so-so and the needle was off center, but at least it had the straight stitch again. They said that was the way the needle was -- WRONG! They again tried to sell me a new machine. I decided to order a check spring online and also downloaded the service manual for the machine. Last weekend, my husband and I put in the new check spring and in the process found out that Rocky Mtn Sew & Vac and reassembled the tension unit wrong - no wonder the tension was so-so!! We were also able to get the needle back into the right position. Needless to say I was without the use of my 230 for almost 4 months. Glad I had another machine to use, since sewing is my business. Moral of the story - Stay away from Rocky Mountain Sew & Vac for machine repairs. read more

I purchased a sewing machine here last week and I couldn't be happier. I was interested in a particular Bernina machine and I wanted to try it out before I made the investment to buy. Randie was extremely friendly and knowledgeable, she made sure I could comfortably thread the machine and knew how to use it before I left. I was so excited to get home and start sewing. I had to bring my 2 year old son who is very curious and all over the place. The staff was friendly to him and didn't make me feel like he was an inconvenience at all. I love that the classes are free if you purchase a machine from them. The store is organized and well put together. They have really good quality products but also the knowledge to recommend the right items for you. I am really excited about taking classes and purchasing more quilting supplies in the future. I've been a customer @ RMSV for # yrs. now .I have seen these people work very hard to satisfy customers needs and wishes. I take sewing classes there and I have bought several machines from them and not just the new ones. The same kind considerate handling nature given to me was the same as if I was buying a top of the line machine. There have been times when I was dissatisfied with a purchase and they have kindly taken it back even though it was slightly used , and work with me to get a replacement to make me happy. I go to the Aurora store, but I have met and worked with as a customer with other sales associates and received the same treatment. Even from the owners of the stores, whom I don't know at all are kind and never rude. These people are good people to do business with. read more

I was interested in the new Bernina B350 special edition. I had a great experience with Danette the salesperson, called me to let me know the machine had come in and I could come and test sew on it. She explained the accessories. I had question about certain aspects of the machine and when she didn't know she found someone who did. They were not pushy and extremely helpful..
