Had a solo reservation for weeknight dinner and when the hostess attempted to seat me at one of the half booth two tops tucked against the wall, the server motioned for me to be seated at a four top table in the primary entrance to the dining room. Ugh. Thankfully the hostess honored my request to sit at the original half booth. The server was perfunctory and checked on me minimally. So I sat for a while before ordering. My cocktails and food was brought out by others. However, she did retroactively add my Cunningham points when I forgot to advise her I was rewards member. The cocktails were sensational. I really loved the Act One and the Flasback was also good. The wedge salad was delightful, if slightly overdressed. The beef tenderloin with blue cheese was tender and cooked perfectly to temp. We were just here on Mother's Day and had a wonderful meal. Even with the busy holiday, our waitress was top-notch. She was able to take our order just from memory. She made sure that the water was filled and that the food was perfect. I can't stay enough how amazing the food is. I feel that it is on par with the nearby farm table restaurant. The food is cooked to perfection and also uses many tasty ingredients. All the food seems to be cooked from scratch. I was taken here for Mother's Day and I really enjoyed myself. It was too cold to sit outside, but it is a nice area. We ordered truffle oil fries as an appetizer. We really didn't taste the truffle oil and didn't see a need for a up charge. I ordered the special of the day and by boyfriend ordered beef and noodles. We were both impressed by the taste and enjoyed our meal. The cocktails are overpriced so we didn't order. They pushed by the waitress several times. It was off putting. Situated downtown, very close to my hotel. Cute place, a lot bigger than it looks everyone was so nice! If you go between 5-6 it's happy hour and a lot of stuff is $3 off! I got a glass of cab and ordered the steak frites as my dinner. Skirt steak medium rare, perfectly cooked and the fries were crunchy and delicious. We had our rehearsal dinner here and it was wonderful. The service was awesome, very attentive and never let our drinks get too low. We had the private room in the back which easily fit our party of about 45. We were able to choose from beef filet, salmon and the airline chicken. My daughter chose this restaurant to celebrate her 25th birthday, and I couldn't be happier with her choice! The ambiance is a perfect balance of classy and sophistication but not so much you'll feel uncomfortable. We had the choice of indoor or outdoor seating, but I wanted indoors. I don't do bugs. LOL! When we arrived, we were seated by the manager and our server introduced herself minutes later. Speaking of our server--she was the best! Friendly, personable, and knew her stuff! I just wish I could remember her name, she was so good!!! Now, let's talk about the food. While some places can make their dishes look amazing but fall short on taste, this restaurant delivered! I will say this.... If you choose only one dish to try, make it the calamari. The good: The food was great. Both my wife and I really enjoyed everything that we ordered. The service was great. So why only 3 stars you ask?.... The bad: I made a reservation for bar seating since we were going dressed very casual. It was a quiet night so we didn't really need ireservations but I didn't know what to expect being our first time here. The bar seating was the problem. We were seated in a booth, no surprise there. The problem is that 60-70% of the booths in the bas area are elevated. Why is that a problem? There is nothing under your feet, no bar, no platform, nothing. So there I sat with my legs dangling like a little kid at the grown-up table. It was terrible. I should have just moved to the bar rail but I shouldn't have to. Whoever made the design decisions related to the elevated booths must have been in the NBA. This seating cost you 2 starts, it was that bad. At least I know if I go back to reserve the normal dining section or just sit at the bar rail where this is your choice of a platform for your feet or a foot rung on the chairs. read more

Another excellent experience at Marquee. Tonight we dined outside in the shade of the building. The cool breeze kept the 80+ degree enjoyable. It was nice to dine in a comfortable environment and people watch the pedestrians walk by. Making a reservation on Open Table is easy. You can get there from their website or the Open Table app. The service team was very professional and welcoming. Our waitress, Michaela, was on top of the refills and service. She new her menu well and was very helpful. We started with the frites in truffle oil along with beer cheese and aioli sauces. The frites were thin and had crispy edges. They weren't very meaty and had a nice salty seasoning. You could pick up the truffle flavor in the oil which was very tasty. The aioli sauce was thicker with a mayo consistency but a delicious aioli accent taste. The beer cheese congealed quickly. It did have a very mild beer and cheese flavor. A nice starter if the other items don't appeal to you. My wife had the blackened scallops. She loved the risotto. It was very creamy. The scallops were delicious and nicely blackened without going over board. I ordered the seafood cioppino. It came without 8 mussels and shredded shrimp and salmon. There were larger chunks of salmon that were excellent. They were moist and perfectly cooked. They flaked a little bit but more readily stuck together. The salmon had a nice fish taste. The dish was bathed in a very thin and slightly spicy tomato broth. The broth helped moisten the salmon and add a slight amount of spice. There wasn't much shrimp detected. Though the shrimp kept its shrimp taste like the salmon. The mussels were also tender and tool on the tomato broth flavors. The broth kept the potato wedges moist and broke up the potato taste. The small pieces of tomato that were present were a bit too mushy for me. Overall...Marquee is a nice option if you want a relaxing environment and unique/high quality food. This was somewhere between a good and very good experience but nothing outstanding. 3.8. They have some interesting mains including cioppino, kimchi meatloaf, and "airplane chicken." I had the cioppino. The seafood was cooked nicely, but the portion was small for the price, and the broth wasn't very flavorful. My friend spoke highly of the shrimp and grits. There were mixed reviews on the airplane chicken, but good reviews on the meatloaf and swordfish. Service was good. It just seemed similar to other higher end business crowd restaurants in the area, nothing distinguishing it from the rest. read more

We came here on a Saturday in March, it wasn't very busy but we were sat in a weird spot, which personally affected the feel of the restaurant since we were seated next to a very large group who was a little loud. There are a lot of nice intimate spots we would have preferred as a couple. Our waiter was friendly, but our food came out before our drinks which was a beer and an Aperol Spritz. We ordered the Chef's Choice Board, which may have been why it beat our drinks to the table. It was delicious! I'd definitely give this spot a try if you're in the area. Marquee has been on my list for what seems like forever, and now that I finally made it in, I can say it lives up to the hype. Luckily we went on a Thursday night, so it wasn't too crowded and we were able to sit on their patio and enjoy the nice weather. Our server was so sweet and attentive, helping us decide between cocktails (arguably the most important decision of the night). I decided on the April 25th, a gin-based drink that had a fun Mexican flare that I'd highly recommend. The steak frites were cooked to our liking and the truffle fries that came with were downright addicting. The combo of goat cheese, orange, and pickled red onion on my Valencia salad was the perfect combination, and I'd recommend adding on a protein if you're making it a meal like I did. Delicious French fusion cuisine. They don't describe themselves as that, but that's what the menu looks like and tastes like. Their poutine is one of the best dishes I've had in awhile, and it's a must get. The entrance has a really tiny sign that you'll probably miss. They have plenty of seats in an atmosphere that reminds you of a hotel. Not sure if the hotel theme was what they wanted, but it looks nice nevertheless. Let's go into details. Chilaquiles Poutine - French Mexican fusion wiith guajillo pulled pork, fries, curds, cilantro, and lime. This is one of the best dishes I've ever had. You need to get this. Flavor is perfectly balanced. The only problem with this dish is that the chef should have cut up the cilantro. I used my hands and tore it up myself. We got this as an appetizer, but it's a good sized entree. 5/5 stars. Salmon - French Cajun Italian fusion with shrimp, andouille sausage, roasted tomato risotto, asparagus, red chili beurre blanc. Salmon was cooked perfectly to medium. I loved the Cajun influence of dirty rice with sausage and shrimp, but they went Italian with risotto to make it fancier. It goes well with the salmon. The beurre blanc is tasty, but I couldn't taste the red chilis. Would have given a good balance to the dish if it was noticeable. Still a good dish, nevertheless. 5/5 stars. Tomahawk Porkchop - French American fusion with succotash, potato serrano pavé, maple-apple butter, and chipotle barbecue sauce. Pork was delicious with the bbq sauce. It could have been a stronger chipotle flavor, but subtlety is fine too. The pavé and succotash are out of this world. They outshine the pork, but the pork was above average. 5/5 stars. Carrot Cake - Typical carrot cake, not overly sweet. I'm not a fan of it, but my boyfriend enjoyed it. It's pretty big, you could share it. I think Eddie Merlot's carrot cake is to die for. This one is just ok. 3/5 stars. Tres Leches Cake - You want milk? Boy, do you get milk. The cake was saturated in milk. Whipped cream on top and ice cream on the side. The creativity and overabundance of milk makes me laugh. I enjoyed it. I wish there was more fruit to balance it out more. 4.5/5 stars. Add more fruit, and that goes to 5. Amaretto Sour - I don't drink, so this is what my boyfriend thinks. He enjoyed it and said most places don't offer this drink. They make it better than my boyfriend can at home, so they probably use better ingredients. Strawberry Lemonade - So they don't offer a drink menu aside from alcohol drinks, but our waiter said they can make anything you want. Since I don't drink, I went with strawberry lemonade. It's good, but it would have been nice to have a non-alcohol menu. 4/5 stars. The service was great. Nathaniel was our waiter, and he was very good. We went here for our 2 year anniversary, and it was a good romantic time, just don't sit in the lounge if you wanna hear your partner. I had an early Mother's Day dinner are Marquee and I couldn't have been more pleased. 10/10 would def recommend. If you see the 4 star instead of 5, I'll explain the deduction. Just keep reading. The location is such an energetic moment. There's always an eclectic mix of patrons on the landing and I love to see it. People from all walks of life just out and about enjoying the evening. The food was absolutely amazing. I had the double bacon cheeseburger. It was stellar. From the bun, the meat, cheese, bacon, veggies, all just they way they should be. Crisp lettuce, firm tomato, crisp bacon. The fries are hand cut! A perfect mix of crisp outside and tender inside. I think they make their own ketchup, it had a very distinct taste, it was good, but distinct. We also tried the boards - the char char boards as I like to fondly call them. Deliciousness. Who knew pimento cheese was a BOP! It's so mildly spicy and flavor packed! I wanted more bread to eat the rest of my cheese it was that good! Our server was Giselle. She was kind and courteous and efficient. She took notice of the table and made sure our needs were met. The ambiance is good for families, dates, dinner- lunch meetings. It perfectly blends intimacy, privacy, and upscale. I found the low lighting very effective and relaxing and that can't be said of many places. I thoroughly enjoyed my dining experience here. I'd highly recommend and again 10/10. So, back to that small deduction, the food runner brought out the food without aid of a platter, one item lightly grazed the shirt the runner had on. My wife and in came in for our anniversary dinner. We were in town for my sister's wedding. After doing some research Marqee provide the kind of ambiance that we may be looking for in place where we would want to celebrate our anniversary. We sat out on the patio which was nice on a warm summer night. Our waitress provided some great app recommendations with the cauliflower wings and the salad. Those were easily two of the best dishes of the night. For our mains I ordered the steak frites. The frites were the best part unfortunately, the steak was just alright. It kinda makes me wish I had ordered the burger because I saw so many going out to other tables. My wife ordered a seafood dish with mussels and an assortment of other seafoods. It had a nice kick, but was just lacking a little something that I can't put my finger on at the moment. We were given a free dessert for our anniversary. We chose the carrot cake. The portion was massive, but again this fell well short of expectations. It felt like they were trying to elevate a classic but were doing a bit too much with the flavors. We were huge fan. Let me start by saying I really wanted to like this place. I've been to other Cunningham Restaurants (Bru Burger Bar & Provision), and perhaps because both of those experiences were so positive, I had high expectations. Unfortunately, Marque at the Landing was underwhelming. I ordered the Applewood Chicken Salad without egg. The salad was quite tasty, although overdressed. The chicken was chewy and over cooked, along with burnt to a point it was inedible. The chicken was cut into four pieces. I ate the first one and was overwhelmed with how burnt it was. I remember thinking as my dish was placed in front of me, "Why does this smell like a campfire?" If you're still not convinced the chicken was burnt, see my photos. I tried cutting off the burnt parts for the second piece, but it still didn't make the terrible taste go away. I sat and waited for a few minutes for my server to come by, but she did not. Being hungry and the salad part being edible, I ate that. When I finished the salad I once again waited to be noticed. I even placed my fork and knife in a way that indicates "didn't like." Once I did get the attention of my server, she asked me how it was and I told her the chicken was inedible, and it was over cooked and burnt. She asked me if I wanted another one and since I didn't eat much protein, I was still very hungry. So, I said yes. I watched my server walk over to the manager just five feet away from my table and with their backs to me discussed my concerns. I heard the manager say, "Just give her what she wants." Which was probably an appropriate response but also kind of not, as it made me think the manager didn't really think my concern was reasonable. The manager later delivered the second attempt (see photos for difference) about 15 minutes after the first one was taken back. He said very little to me, just, "Here you go." I was honestly surprised. I expected something like, "We're sorry. That was not the quality we typically produce," or "I hope this one is better." But no, the manager acted like he was doing me a favor. I was in a rush as I had plans, so I quickly scarfed down some of the chicken and asked for my bill. I got it. I was charged full price for both my glass of wine and the terrible salad. If you have to redo your work and you're not going to apologize, why should I have to pay full price? So, here's the question - would I come back or recommend this restaurant to others? Probably not. I wasn't treated with respect. The restaurant as wine on tap (the sauv blanc was not great) and while the restaurant is decorated beautifully, I just can't get over how rude everyone was to me. read more

The restaurant itself is deceptively big with a beautiful bar area and even a "speakeasy bar" in a back room. We have only been on weekends, and there is usually bar seating open, but I highly recommend making a reservation because it does fill up fast. For an appetizer- get the potato croquettes and thank me later. The short rib is always my go to. It is tender and cooked perfectly and the carrots/pearl onions add an amazing flavor. We also ordered the pork chop, for the second time, which is another favorite. We then opted to finish with espresso martinis. read more

My boyfriend made Valentine's Day reservations here for the weekend and neither of us had ever been here before. A coworker of his recommended it. We had a GREAT experience here. Sat promptly, waitress was close to our age so we got along great. She was very knowledgeable of the menu and made recommendations. Got the potato croquettes as an appetizer, 10/10 (only flaw was that we wanted more, you only get 3). I got the Short Rib entree & it was absolutely delicious. My boyfriend got the Airplane Chicken, it was good but mine was better. We got drinks (he got the Iroh's Elixir & I got the Gone Girl). They were nice drinks, his was extremely strong though so it was hard to finish. Finished the night with the dessert special which was a double mousse (dark & white chocolate) with raspberry sauce and strawberries & blueberries on top. Sooooooo good. I had no complaints whatsoever. Service was very prompt. Atmosphere was nice, it wasn't extreme fine dining but it was nice & comfortable and they had GREAT music playing. While it's more expensive than a Cheddar's or BJ's, it was totally worth the price for everything we got & I will for sure be coming back again! read more

I had the shrimp and grits (I ate EVERY BITE) and a cocktail called the Passion something!! I just left there and can't remember but it was so catchy (guess you can say the drink was GREAT)!!! It has a very crisp and clean look to it! Very well put together decor; there was an entire vibe! The bar was loaded with every liquor you can ask for and the waitstaff was very knowledgeable and serious (yet friendly) about their jobs!! Our server's name was Jason and he was amazing! I have eaten at this restaurant approximately 10 times. The ambience is beautiful. It really can't be improved upon. The wait staff are very friendly and just as attentive as you would want them to be. The worst part of this restaurant is the food and the second worst part is the menu. The chef has created dishes that continuously fall flat. Because I don't eat seafood and I don't love spicy dishes. I have very few options on the entrée section of the menu. The beef and noodles is very heavy on the wine sauce and needs to be balanced with something rich and creamy. The burger is very mid in flavor and should be assembled that you could get every part of the burger in one bite. For the first time I recently ordered the loaded potato croquettes. The whipped potato inside is so starchy it's almost inedible and the cheese sauce basically tastes like they smeared the plate with Cheese Whiz. When you can get the duck rosemary fries cooked crispy and not soggy, they will be the best item on the menu. Poutine is bland.... I could go on. There's so much potential at this restaurant, but the menu & dishes need improved upon. read more

Every cheese was absolutely delicious, however the portion sizes are very small (specifically the MontAmorè) which kind of stinks, but overall I'd still order again because it was so dang tasty. The Havarti Habanero.... Chef's Kiss. ‍ Also the Crostini has NO BUSINESS being so perfectly toasted and delicious!!! I thought I would prefer the Artisan bread (ordered as an extra) but the crostini was way better & softer- the artisan bread was very crunchy. As an entree I had some of the most flavorful & moist chicken I've literally ever consumed. Y U M - order this!!! 12/10 in my book. My husband had the Bacon Burger and loved it, but the true winner was the truffle oil fries with garlic aioli dip. Whether you're new in town or a local skeptical of new places, this restaurant is a great choice for you.
