The lady who checked us in was very nice and offered to help us find hiking trails, restaurants, etc. The room was VERY nice - a small kitchenette, a huge and COMFY King Size bed, just very comfortable lodgings. There were also lawn chairs outside of our room where we sat in the evening looking at the beautiful mountain views and stars. The lodge was very easy to find and very close to the downtown historic area. My only con is that the bathroom was a little small, but for an overnight stay, we didn't need a whole lot of room. Overall review: Everything was just lovely and accommodating. I would certainly reccommend this hotel to everyone going to Lake City.

Didn't know that my trailer was going to be an issue parked on the property. We were moving at the next morning to our job site anyway. But because we arrived at 11:15 PM and since there was no other vehicles there we parked where we did . But she had no customers at the time and the people who were there the night before had left. The parking lot was completely empty when we arrived except for one vehicle at 11 PM on 23 July. She came and banged on my door that morning never introduced herself to me and told me I was entitled to one spot not six or seven. Then proceeded to walk off again without identifying yourself or even talking to me saying welcome nothing. We booked an extra night because our work over here kept us a little longer than we expected. When I tried speaking to her in her office on Saturday, July 25 to settle up my other extended night she was very rude and would not speak to me. She kept screaming and yelling at me stop stop stop. I can't handle this stop talking stop talking. In my mind, she was acting like a little five year-old, throwing a temper tantrum. Lack of customer service overpriced rooms with zero amenities of any sort and just an overall bad attitude. I do not recommend this place.

We were able to sleep 4 adults, no problem! At night, we slept with the windows open, and the cool air was so refreshing, coming from Texas. G & M Cabins are located right off the town square, which means you are literally walking distance, less than a 5 minute walk, to the city park, Packer Saloon and Cannibal Grill, San Juan Soda Company, and many more shops! The room was clean and comfortable and it was nice to sit outside under the awning and enjoy the view and rain. I believe they had, perhaps not a good dryer / lint removal. When I woke up in the morning in the full light of day I noticed the blanket was literally covered in what I'm assuming was dog hair. They allow pets and evidently it's find for the pet to sleep in/on the beds! Not good for folks with allergies. No soap, shampoo, lotion, coffee or amenities, but the kitchen is functional if you have your own coffee / food. We were on motorcycles and traveling light. When I inquired about soap the next morning I was THEN told they are just a sleeping cabin. Well that would have been good information to have before we checked in. The proprietor knew we were on cycles and should have insured we had what we needed. Lots of other places I'd check before staying here.

Keith is chatty and cool and just a great guy. I stayed in the old Airstream, which had a hot shower, kitchenette, and clean sheets - everything I needed! The resort is on the south end of town (so, a couple blocks away from downtown; Lake City is small and you can walk everywhere), quiet, wooded, and peaceful. The cabins seemed great - rustic but comfortable - but the Airstream had character all its own. It showed its age, but you can't beat the $$ in this pricey town. Also, a VCR and all the James Bond movies you could ask for. If you want to stay in a place that has character and feels like you're really hanging with the townsfolk, look no further!

While we love the charm and the central location there is quite a bit this place is lacking. We…read moreunderstand the old structure, the sloping floors, the quaint charm. However, when you get stabbed in your foot from tacks sticking out of a threadbare carpet in front of the bathroom it is a little off putting. (Seriously, get a hammer, slam those tacks down and use duct tape). There is a cute little gas stove and oven, but no dishes of any kind to cook. There was even a nice cutting board hanging on the wall but for what reason? There was nothing to cut with. There was also a little coffee pot with coffee and such, but no coffee cups to drink the coffee. Good thing we are not huge coffee drinkers. This is our second time staying here and think we we find another place next time we visit.

My Jeep got a flat tire up on Cinnamon pass and the universe was seriously working against me. No spare, instant tire kit, two tow truck companies bailed, fix a flat didn't work, and cell service was out -- I almost called the cops for help. I will say, it was a great weekend and place to get stuck in the mountains for almost 2 days. On the 3rd trek back to town and sore as ever, our last resort was to eat the costs and just rent another Jeep to drive 2.5 hours to the next town -- which is how we found Pleasant View. Jim was so helpful and nice. We came in around 1pm and after going over options and costs we told him what we were dealing with. Jim said he didn't want to take advantage of our situation and gave us the extra half day at no cost, and rented us a 2-door wrangler (even after offering his personal jeep to go to town). And to take the next step further, he found an extra tire we could try on my Jeep (who does that??). The wheel didn't end up fitting and we still made the 2.5 hour drive racing against Memorial Day (only for all the tire shops to be closed and had to stay the night), but it couldn't have been possible without Jim's help. Oh and to top it off, we accidently left our brand new tent in the rented Jeep, we sent Jim a packing slip and he mailed it back! Had we had the opportunity to stay in town, we would've stayed in one of his cabins, but with his ability to go above and beyond for strangers -- he treats his business the same I would recommend anyone stay/rent here.

Its seems to me the management team is more interested in delegating their responsibilities, instead of ensuring that their guests are enjoying their experience. I love Lake City and all that surrounds it. Not so much the Wagon Wheel. Will not be back.
